You guys had the clockworkmod bootstrap installed. Uninstalling it does not restore two files that were changed in the system partition. This has been discussed many times in this forum. The bootstrapper backed them up when it changed them so you just need root (I use Root Explorer) and restore the two backed up files. Once you do that the OTA should install.
[Removing CWM Recovery]
1) Delete file /system/bin/logwrapper
2) Delete file /system/bin/hijack
3) Rename file /system/bin/logwrapper.bin to /system/bin/logwrapper
4) Delete directory /preinstall/recovery
If you had the boot into recovery hack then you need to restore this file also.
[Removing CWM on Boot]
1) Delete file /system/bin/mot_boot_mode
2) Rename file /system/bin/mot_boot_mode.bin to /system/bin/mot_boot_mode

Hello guys... I have never had clockwork mode recovery but I have some custom recovery, busy box, debloater that I have used to get Google Now on my Leaked 1 ICS Android... I receive error after rebooting and I don't know why and don't know where to find the logs... Now I uninstalled all these applications that could have caused some changes in the /sys folder and I am trying it again? What should I do?
UPDATE: Update error again!

First off check last_log in cache and look what error it is giving.try a factory reset from the recovery.if you removed bloatware to install google now that would probably do it.you gotta replace them.but first check last_log

Sorry for my noob question but how can I check last_log in cache? I am sort of new to this kind of stuff!!!

1.root your phone
2.download es file explorer from market (free)
3.open es file explorer, enable root explorer in setting, go to cache/recovery

Are you rooted???
If yes use any file explorer root explorer,ES file explorer and the when you are in the root of your device you will see a cache folder there you will find last log
If you are not rooted in while updating just press vol up+vol down it will show you the details why the installation is failing.note the apk or lib that gives the error you need to fiz them.and btw try a wipe data from the recovery most files will be back up.

Right now I'm on leak2 so can't help you with that.did you take a backup of the app??
Ask someone who did and u'll need dlna.apk and dlna.odex files
or maybe i'm posting those files from leak 2 try moving them to system/app and change the permissions to match the files already in there.
You must be rooted for all these.

You mean wipe data & cache (factory reset)?

If you are really that nooby just fxz back to 2.36 using jim's script that would be a lot easier for you if you don't know what you are doing.i guess i already gave you the link to that in another thread.

Simple answer, no.
You need either find and install DLNA.apk or fxz back to 2.3.6.

Sorry my question was not really understandable... The last question didn't have to do with the rest of the thread... I was asking for the backup cause I didn't want to lose them... I FXZ back at 2.3.5 and now I am at 4.0.4... I made a full backup when I was in the Leak #1... Now when I restore it back, will I have all my configurations or it is not worth it to restore it? And also will that restore the damaged file of DLNA as it was or nothing to do with that!!

You can not restore a backup from a different release, it is not wise and can cause a boot loop..... What are you worried about losing? Do you sync mail, and contacts and such? If you do you should be ok. The ONLY thing you will have to do is reinstall apps, and that is easy in the play store, just go to the my apps tab I think it is, and install all the ones you have in there that you want back on the phone. Yeah it is a PIA, to do an fxz then ota, then reinstall all your apps, but that is the price we pay for "hacking" our phones sometimes.

Try a different root browser (like root explorer) - I think ES has issues with actual root operations.
Other options might be adb or terminal emulator - but need to know a few commands for that..

HELP: System Apps / Bare Bones :HELP

Back when I was in the MyTouch3g game with roms I could remove most system apps without any unstablity...
What system apps are safe to remove?
Via RootExplorer/ADB/Terminal
MiUi w/ Matr1x is my daily Driver! Some Apps I am referring to are "Tags, Notes, SoundRecorder, GoogleSearch, DNDMode, Miuistats, News&Weather, and Email."
Again I am wanting to remove these system apps...
A Quick and Accurate reply would be greatly appreciated...

i do it via RE , also , some ROM like Brainmaster's MIUI , you can delete these apps in that zip file before you flash it , in /data and /system/app
also , you can do it via some Android optimizer

RE = RootExplorer?
What are the steps involved?
-Just go to system / app
-Mount R/W
-Long press selected app(s)
-Delete
-Mount R/O
Reboot
No permission changes?
Sent from my iPhone 4S using Siri
Just use titanium backup, For me the easiest way to remove system apps.
permission is needed when you put some file in these folder, deleting doesn't require it
yes, RE is root explorer, but strongly recommended make backup before you delete anything, actually i don't even mount it back to R/O again... don't even need reboot
---------- Post added at 01:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:50 PM ----------
better don't delete them, just multiselect, cut and paste them to other folder

Assuming you already have gingerbread installed, you are rooted, your phone connected with PC and usb debugging enabled.
Step 1
Donwload
recovery.img from http://www.wuala.com/caroceiro/optimus 3d/roms/acura/Acura3DMAX V2/?lang=en
Download
Clockwork Touch.rar from http://d-h.st/zdj
extract Clockwork Touch.rar
run LGP920_CWM_5.8.1.5_Flasher_WinXP.exe BUT DO NOT PRESS SPACEBAR YET
copy recovery.img from your downloaded files and paste it into same directory with LGP920_CWM_5.8.1.5_Flasher_WinXP.exe and overwrite old recovery.img
Now press spacebar in the dos box and let it flash
Step 2
Copy Acura3DMAX_V2.zip in your internal sdcard.
Reboot into touch recovery
go to mounts
Format DATA
Format SYSTEM
Format CACHE
Step 3
Install from internalsd Acura3DMAX_V2.zip
THATS IT
If you followed this guide its flashed now you should reboot and wait for startup guide.

restore your backup
if you dont have a backup try this
get into cwm
mount emmc
run LGP920_CWM_5.8.1.5_Flasher_WinXP.exe that you downloaded earlier
but dont press spacebar
look into the directory of LGP920_CWM_5.8.1.5_Flasher_WinXP.exe and there should be a file called adb-win.exe
open a command prompt and drag an drop adb-win.exe into it put a space and type push and then drag and drop Acura3DMAX_V2.zip leave a space and type /emmc/
it should look like this (although it depends on your directory structure)
"D:\LG Optimus3D\Clockwork Touch\adb-win.exe" push D:\downloads\Acura3DMAX_V2.zip /emmc/
or you could try installing it from your external sdcard

I'm rooted, but can't change camera sound extensions...WHY?

I rooted my phone a few days ago and everything is working fine. I've decided to disable my camera shutter sound by renaming the .ogg files to .old, but when I select "rename" it tells me "insufficient permissions"???
I downloaded root checker and verified that I still have root and I do. I'm trying to use Astro file manager to do this, what am I missing or how can I fix this?
I just downloaded "Linda file manager" to see if maybe Astro was the problem, but Linda won't let me change it either. it just says ERROR

Do I need another app to do this? I've looked in Astro and can't find anything about mounting???
After some research I see that there are commands via ADB that allow me to mount, but can renaming file be done without adb? If I have to use adb and mount this way, does it stay mounted so I can modify anything/anytime I want?
I thought rooting gave me full access, why didn't this happen?

Rooting does give you access but you need a capable app that takes su. When it's rooted it doesn't automatically give you su but enables apps to obtain it.

[APP][SHARE]Odex Me...Odex Any rom(and i mean any)

Works on 2.3.7 upto 4.2.2(At least thats all I have tested).
Hi,Guys this is an awesome app here let me start by stating.
Advantages of Odexed Rom.
1.Better Battery life
2.Better app performance.
3.lower ram usage.
Disadvantages of Odexed Rom.
1.no themes can be applied(and i mean at all).
2.Lower /system space.
How to Install -Guide-
1) make sure you have a custom rooted rom / kernel with init.d support (scripts must be able to run at boot: it is a folder in /system/etc). It is very important or it won't run pre-boot scripts.
2) make sure that you don't have any themes applied before odexing or you will loose your themed apps after odexing.
3) simply put the apk in /system/app folder with a file browser like "Root Explorer" and ofcourse give correct permissions rw-,r--,r-- and reboot.
4) do a nandroid backup(just added safety) and/or a titanium backup of all user apps and system data
5)Start ODEX ME app
6) follow the onscreen instructions.
7)your device will boot several times or even boot for a long time(Its all normal).
8)to see if you rom is odexed go to /system/app partition and you will see a whole lot of .odex files.

OH MY did you do the steps I mentioned after flashing int2ext4+ no wonder go into /system/app and tell me if there is a file called settings.apk and settings.odex
for most safe and best result always run first any script. mod .anything you need done then flash any app2sd script.
Sry... but I can't odex official cyanogenmod (2.3.7). It goes to bootloops. (Cyanmobile, Razodroid etc. were odexed successfully by your mentioned method but not this one)

I'm using cm7 official odexed so what exactly did you do is your dalvik cache moved to /sd-ext cause that will explain the boot-loop.
sol. don't use any app2sd solutions till after you have odexed k.

I use Link2SD. I also used Link2SD on Cyanmobile too but no bootlooping in that while odexing.
So, do I've to unlink all the links of Link2SD & then try odexing??
If Yes, then I'll give it a try...

that doesnt make any sense link2sd moves only user installed apps not system so should give no problem....? but you can try and unlink from link2sd and see how it goes.
After I installed this OdexMe, in system/app, I have only 4,96 MB free.

hmm thats actually not really any problem or bug the app converts the dex files to odex files and stores the file onto /system/app basically the dalvik cache of system apps is moved to the /system/app directory. Hence the lower space.

I know, but now I can't install some applications.
Is there a possibility that I can remove .odex files, and that I do not again install ROM?

Unlocked (639737.5) System Image Backup

I've uploaded a few updated stock files for the Unlocked variant of HTC One A9 (1.12.617.6) in case anyone needs them.
USE THESE FILES AT YOUR OWN RISK!
They can be found here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8OH6sFjVE1ldGNjN29KX19zZm8
RUU_HIA_AERO_UL_M60_SENSE7GP_ATT_NA_Gen_Unlock_1.12.617.6.zip
This is an extracted zip of the latest HTC RUU.
This file will wipe everything on your phone EXCEPT External (SD) Storage
The easiest way to flash is to download the file, rename it to 2PQ9IMG.zip, copy it to your SD card, reboot to download mode and press volume up when prompted to flash
Otherwise, you can flash using htc_fastboot in RUU mode
fastboot oem rebootRUU
htc_fastboot flash zip RUU_HIA_AERO_UL_M60_SENSE7GP_ATT_NA_Gen_Unlock_1.12.617.6.zip (what is htc_fastboot? it's HTC's very own fastboot utility that allows you to flash larger files than regular fastboot. where can you find it? it's not hard)
HTC_A9_2PQ9IMG_1.12.617.6_SystemImageBackupAndBoot.zip
TWRP system image backup. This file will restore your system to an unmodified state and should allow you to take an OTA Update if you're rooted or otherwise modified your system partition
This is NOT a flashable zip. It is a regular old compressed zip file.
Download it to your computer, unzip it, and copy the contents to the TWRP backup directory (sdcard/TWRP/Backups/.../...) on your device.
Boot to recovery
Go to Mount Menu and set System to Read-Only
Go to Restore and find and select this backup folder
Optional - I've included the stock boot image in case you have flashed a modified boot image and want to restore this as well
HTC_A9_2PQ9IMG_1.12.617.6_Stock_boot.img
stock boot image extracted from the 1.12.617.6 OTA update package
flash in download mode (fastboot flash boot HTC_A9_2PQ9IMG_1.12.617.6_Stock_boot.img)
HTC_A9_2PQ9IMG_1.12.617.6_Stock_recovery.img
Stock recovery for Unlocked edition (1.12.617.6)
Save this file in your fastboot folder
Boot to DOWNLOAD mode
Flash using fastboot (fastboot flash recovery HTC_A9_2PQ9IMG_1.12.617.6_Stock_recovery.img)

The system image backup. Download it to your computer, unzip it and copy the contents to the TWRP backup folder on your device
I tried to install xposed framework on my phone but it got stuck at the boot screen after installation. I copied the system image backup files into my SD card slot and booted it in recovery (TWRP). I've done everything the instruction says and i'm at the point where I've mounted the "system" folder as read-only. I go to the restore option but i don't see any files or folders to restore from. Please help... Thank you.

Did you copy my folder (2015-11-14--01-18-44_MRA58K_release-keys) into your TWRP backup directory?
Edit: if you don't have a TWRP backup directory, the easiest way to create one is to just run a backup of one of the small partitions (boot/recovery).
It worked... You're the best!!!!

Ok, maybe I'll just try it. I have nothing to lose at this point.
Thanks for the response.
Thanks a a million!! Helped me out of a pinch with mine. Mine would just reboot as soon as any app got root permissions. Restoring your system backup fixed it!
Can you upload recovery_signed.img again Thank !

That's the message when you try to restore? Did you go into the mount menu and mount system as read-only (there's a check box underneath all the partitions)?
Hello, somehow I've managed to delete my OS. I'm still unlocked and s-off but when I try to restore with your file it crashed. So I wiped everything and started over. Here's my issue now. I downloaded your file and extracted it to put onto an external sd. Once I did that I made a small backup in TRWP and moved the file to sd/TRWP but when I go to restore its blank with only the small back up showing. I can't put system to read only, it think its because I have no OS. I can click/unclick everything else just not system.

You moved the backup folder under external_sd/TWRP/YOUR_SERIAL_NUMBER/ ? That's where it has to be for TWRP to see it. And that shouldn't prevent you from being able to mount system read-only (unless you're getting an error on /system, in which case you should wipe/format it).

Each time I hit a dead end, I wipe and format. I am getting an error saying unable to mount system. I sent some info over to @jcase about my device and he said that HTC sent me an engineer firmware version. Does that make a difference at all?

I also appreciate your patience with me @Captain_Throwback. I normally don't have issues with stuff like this.
