[Q] Stuck at First boot screen after installing Chainfire - Asus Transformer TF700

I'm stuck at first boot screen(not screen with animation like most of you did), and it just reboot again and again.
My device is 4.1, rooted and locked, stock ROM.
Can anyone help?

If you manage to boot in recovery you can do a factory restore (follow the guide in my signature), but if you can't boot in recovery or fastboot mode your device can't be recovered and the only way it's to send it back to Asus for repair.

Never mind, used another sdcard and now i've successfully restored my tablet

Hehe I just did the same thing yesterday after not reading in Google Play where it says that Chainfire is not compatible with Jelly Bean. I had to start with a clean SD restore as well, re-root, and re-install Jelly Bean. The answer was quite simple, but it took me forever just to get there!

Yep! the more you play with it, the more you learn (sometime, some one must paid a heavy price for learning: BRICK), but the principle of this is you could use your knowledge to help others. That's a priceless reward, don't you think?

[Q] boot loop

Hey I hate having to post this but im stumped. i was running cm7 nightly build 21 and wanted to flash back to stock pd15img. i followed the steps but when i went to update all it did was turn s on. now my mytouch gets to the animated MY logo and loops. i can still get to recovery and i have tried restore my backup but i still get the MY animated boot logo. any help or suggestions? thanks.
Did you revert your recovery back to stock or Clockwork 2.x instead of Clockwork 3.x that CM7 requires?

Yep. 2.5.1.2.. I even tried just flashing icedglacier but i still get the animated MYlogo wich continues to loop.
does the phone have to be rooted to fix this? It was prior to flashing the PD15IMG, but like i said when it was done loading the image i clicked update and it just turned s on....
okay so i just made some progress i think. i just flashed icedglacier again and this time it changed the boot logo to the icedglacier boot logo but it still loops.
on the bright side of things i was really tire of seeing the mytouch logo.

the PD15IMG is a HBoot flashed image. not via Clockwork's Recovery Manager.
What method did you follow to try and unroot your phone.
We kinda need to know what you did in order to fix it.
If you store the PD15IMG onto the root of the SD card and boot into bootloader it should automatically restore everything to a factory spec.
I unrooted my device by downloading the unroot folder and using visionary and the terminl emulator.
I didnt try to flash pd15img through clockworkmod i just put it on the root of my sd card and let the hboot do the rest once it loaded the image it gave me he update option i chose to update and when my phone came back on in hboot i saw s off and now im stuck in boot loop.
I have to get to work but if you think of anything that could help me out trhat would be awesome thanks guys for reading this in the first place
ps now if i try to load the pd15img it will load the image but there is no update opyion

Try doing this. Esp. if you did the ./gfree deal.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=863899
I also made this mistake, I had to reflash a cm7 rom or miui, downgrade the recovery to 2.5.x (could also adb push) and from there went back to stock and rerooted and flashed ice glacier.
well im downloading sdk now. my internet is super slow.

Being that you have s=on it's going to be fairly difficult. [sidenote] i still cannot believe the PD15IMG didn't work for you [/sidenote]. but you can try and use the fastboot commands. If s=off you could load a separate recovery image and flash a ROM to get you up and running.
yeah, i knew this would happen to me. when i try to adb in it dosent show my device. i have a thing with best buy where they will mail it in to htc to have it fixed but im not sure since i modded the phone.

[Q] Bootlooping and cannot open recovery

hi all,
Firstly apologies if this is covered somewhere but for the life of me I cannot get to the bottom of this. I have spent 2 weeks on and off trying to get a solution but my Sensation is still boot looping.
The problem occurred when I turned on the camera but was faced with a blank screen. I could return to home screen but the camera would not work each time I launched. So I rebooted the device but then I was stuck in this boot loop.
Device info
HTC Sensation S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.27.0000
RADIO-11.21.3504.13_2
I was running Insert Coin 2.3.5 ROM for some time without issue
I was hoping I could just do a superwipe and flash a new ROM
FAIL - each time I boot into CWM and select Recovery, it just goes back to bootloop.
I selected Factory Rest from CWM menu
FAIL - it just goes into bootloop
Also cannot use ADB as the device will not connect to the PC. Im using a card reader to put files on the SD card but have not being successful resolving the issue.
Tried an SD card from a stock Sensation, no difference. Booting with no SIM, not working.
Most Bootloop fix's seem to involve super wipes / flashing new ROMs but because my Recovery goes into the bootloop I dont have this option. I wish it was so easy.
Can anybody offer an other ideas.
Thanks for you patience, I am not much of a modder or Android expert. I had just flashed a ROM many months ago to help improve battery life and I was happy with that.
Have you tried re-installing your recovery throught the bootloader?
try different recovery (4EXT) or reinstall recovery again
thanks guys.
I found these flashable recovery files. Both CWM and 4EXT. I have tried both zips and ran the update in HBOOT but am still booting in CWM and if I select RECOVERY is goes too bootloop again.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24345986&postcount=6
I think I might just give up and drop the phone into a phone repair shop and let them try it.
Did both flashes work? What do you mean you're "booting in CWM"? Can you boot into your system and are you using CWM app to boot into recovery, or are you manually booting into your bootloader and selecting recovery?

Try this pg58img (it helped me)http://www.wuala.com/LuckyThirteen/Elegancia/Official RUU Sensation/ it will update your sensation to ICS, (you will maintain s-off)
Thanks for that. It flashed fine and I was very hopeful it would work but unfortunately it is still in the boot loop. I feel like crying. Im stuck with an old iphone and I miss my HTC so much.

Yes both flashes worked.
What I mean is, I am manually booting with volume down and power button. In the boot menu I select recovery and it enters boot loop.

Can you please re-flash the stock ics (PG58IMG), look like you have some firmware issues (sometimes you have to flash several time in order to rectify previous mistakes...) Hope it helps, otherwise (in my humble opinion) you have some hardware problem
If you can boot normally into ICS and you are rooted, then get the 4Ext app or the ROM Manager app and flash the recovery through one of those.

so I gave this a go over the weekend and flashed maybe up to 10 times the ICS IMG.
Unfortunately it hasnt worked and Im left with my device looping.
so its off to the phone shop today and hopefully it can be fixed. Pity I rooted it and flashed the ROM as it should still be under warranty but I have voided that now

Flashing the ICS PG58IMG.zip doesn't replace the recovery.
Fix recovery first. Use stock recovery. When you get that working, change to "simple" cwm recovery.
thanks for the advise. It makes perfect sense as it appears it is my stock recovery that is broken.
however, I have searched around and cannot find a stock recovery image that I can flash as PG58IMG.zip.
Any help would be much appreciated.

before flashing stock recovery...can you try this first
get this recovery image
and flash the recovery via fastboot
steps:
1.go to fastboot in your device and connect it to your pc (after this device should read fastboot usb)
2.get the adb/fastboot setup ready guide here
3.go to your adb folder and place the downloaded recovery.img there
4.type fastboot devices (it should show your device serial number)
5.now to flash type
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
this should do...if it didnt work then let me know ASAP...then we'll think of other solutions

If I were to guess, it's a different CWM recovery using JB Kernel?. It probably came from 4pda.ru which is a russian site. HAs a lot of android tablet stuff.
Just a guess. Might research it a little and see what I come up with.
It's not exactly the easiest site to navigate through.

I don't exactly see the need of a new recovery, since it works independent of the Android version. An "unknown" recovery would be possibly unsafe as well.

This is not "unknown" recovery. This 6.0.1.1 with kernel from bootloader JB (boot.img)
And this recovery normal mount all partition, make backup-restore and other function.
For ICS bootloader need original recovery 6.0.1.1
For JB bootloader my recovery, rebuilding from original JB bootloader and CMW recovery

You should give some info when posting, otherwise it is "unknown".
The boot.img contains the kernel not the bootloader. The kernel source is yet to be released by Acer and we don't know if Acer has blocked the dangerous emmc wipe command (which will randomly brick tablets, the more you wipe, the riskier you are) like I did on my kernel or not.

Hi There
after i recovered my Tab to work, i´ve done a flash with this Recovery and it freezes.
After this i only was able to turn off the Decvice.
Now it seem´s that i can´t turn on, Black Screen, no LED, only thing the Computer tells an USB Device want´s to install.
Try to install APX drivers an failed.
some ideas?

"This recovery" meaning mine or Gigabyte0's?
If you're in APX mode, you're out of luck and the service center will probably need to replace your mainboard.

Yes, it meant the version of Gigabyte0. Does not sound good.
Spread the word please:
ONLY USE PAWITP'S RECOVERY UNLESS YOU WANT A BRICKED TABLET
If pawitp's recovery is not working for you, then wait. The Recovery released by Gigabyte0 and found on 4PDA is built with Acer's kernel and Acer still has not fixed the brick bug!
Again, do NOT use Gigabyte0's recovery!

Maybe you can also let this know on 4PDA.ru, as I am not Russian (and you are) you can probably explain it better:
In the Acer 3.0 Android kernel the command MMC_CAP_ERASE, which has caused all the old bricks, is still present. At least it is in the A110 3.0 kernelsource and I have no reason to believe they would remove it in the A700 3.0 kernelsource but not in the A110 one.
When this command exists in the kernel, and the Recovery also allows it (Recovery can also disable it, but the current A700 recovery doesn't do that), you are almost guarantueed a brick.
If you could translate that to 'the Russians' I guess we can save a few more people from bricking.

You sure you bricked it? That's the consumer version right? If you have acces to the fast boot on then we can help but if you have you boot loader unlocked then that's tuff cause we still learning not to brick for the hd . I'll tell you what though, If you boot loop or have a black screen try holding power and volume buttons until either the screen freezes and reboots or until it starts up again. Then you can access boot loader mode and or fast Boot we can flash something.

Hi,
i've bricked my xt925. I've bootloader unclocked from motorola website. I wanted restore stock rom using RSD Lite v.6.1.5 but flash process had stopped to (17/22) system_signed for 1 hour...and I stopped him!! Now if i try to start phone it show only the bootloader unlock screen.
I'm able only to go into fastboot mode and if try to flash yet stock rom it stop at first step.
[UPDATE]
After several attempts I managed to get back to the starting point, Step 17/22 flash system "system_signed"...but now i'm locked here.
I have lost forever my smatphone?

My first post due to a death
The death of my XT925 was probably on the cards since I decided to wet my appetite and unroot it and also unlock the bootloader. Everything was sweet at this point, but then I decided to upgrade to kitkat. A big risk, as it turned out, since now I have a smooth attractive-looking brick. My mistake was downloading a rom, which after _nearly_ completing, failed (after many attempts to get it). I repaired it, and then installed it using some root software. I'll have to look up the names, but now I have no response after a lot of frenzied button pressing. Bootloader / fastboot would allow me to get RSD Lite fired up - but I have nothing. The last thing I did was leave it on overnight with the recovery menu on the screen. Should I get my shopping pants on?

Sorry to hear this.
Flashing is a risky process one can easily flash something that is corrupt, or have something not complete.
One user is trying to restore his with this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551113
Things to try.
1) Flashing the fxz/xml using the snapdragon fastboot command line
Last resort thx to SamuriHL
2) In custom recovery, you could attempt to wipe the system partition and see if that then allows you to flash the fxz/xml.
3) If not, wipe the system partition and then flash a known working rom in custom recovery (4.1.2).

I dun goofed. Is it a recoverable goof??

I rooted successfully via Towelroot but did not unlock the bootloader. I ran the 1.1 Update and lost root. I ran Towelroot again and rerooted but I had to redownload the binaries and got everything functioning properly. I decided I wanted a custom recovery for backups and such so I installed Flashify and downloaded the CWM recovery file.
Here's the problem. I apparently flashed the recovery as a boot image as I now boot into CWM every time. CWM seems to be functioning properly but the system just boots into CWM every time.
I have not done anything else to try and fix this as I'm feeling rather like, at this point, I'm more likely to break it further if I haven't already broken it beyond repair.
Is there a file I can flash through CWM to restore the correct boot image?
I've been rooting and ROM'ing since early 2010 on my OG Droid and this is the first device I've actually thought I might have flashed myself into a brick but it's also the first device I've tried anything on without an unlocked bootloader.
Any constructive advice will be most appreciated. Thanks.
You are not bricked. Get the recovery image from https://developer.nvidia.com/develop4shield, and enter the bootloader and flash it following the instructions at https://developer.nvidia.com/sites/...eld/SHIELD_tab/HowTo-Flash-Recovery-Image.txt.
In your case you probably only need to flash the boot partition, but if that is not enough then flash them all.

I'm working on it now; thank you! It appears I must be a Registered Developer to d/l the recovery file so I've applied and am awaiting approval.

Here is the boot.img file that you need, extracted from the Nvidia Recovery file.

It took awhile but I'm back in business. Thank you!
Unfortunately, I lost everything and it started with the setup screen but at least I'm not out a $300 tablet
