[Q] Upgraded to JB , Unlocked , impacted!!! :((( - Asus Transformer TF700

Hi all!
I got my transformer infinity and the first of all connected to wifi and upgraded to JB.(it was a doltish action)
then realized that it was a deadend too root and development:crying::crying:
the only way I was able to move on was Unlocking bootloader and void warranty
now I have a costom bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797692
what can I do now for rooting & nvflash, dualboot for UBUNTU(Ithing it is very suitable for the infinity because of the dock and touchpad )
now im hanged totaly
plz help me
best regards!

You cannot use NVFlash as you have upgraded the bootloader. It only works on .26 or earlier. Not on .30 or JB. You can load several of the custom Roms, just check your MD5 sums before installing them, and be wary of Alpha builds or TF300 based ones. If you don't get too crazy, you should be OK without NVFlash. Having it is like car insurance, you don't plan on using it, but when you do crash it's nice to have.

Thanks a lot!
what about root and dualboot?

No such dual boot available and doubt there will be for some time.
If you want a fast rom install clean rom.

+1 CleanROM v1.3 is rooted and flies like the wind. If you are not rooted, you will need to fastboot flash the TWRP custom recovery in order to be able to flash a custom ROM. Look for TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project ) thread in Development section.

Sorry for asking, but should i understand your answer as this:
For installing a custom rom as CleanRom i haven't got to be rooted or unlocked?
Im on JB now and i haven't rooted or unlocked my device yet.

I believe cleanrom is prerooted rom, but you need to unlock in order to flash the rom.

Then it is only ASUS custom ROMs for you -- there's no other way than unlocking.

Under Windo2s I very much like HashTab -- once installed, right-click on a file and under the Properties window, you get a new tab called "File Hashes" or something like that. If you transfer the file under Windows (e.g., using a card reader), you check it again just to be sure.
Under Android I use MD5 Hash Checker because it provides Send-to functionality: you can browse to the file using you preferred file app (mine is Total Commander) and just send it MD5HC.
Under both programs, you can just paste in the MD5 checksum the developer gives out and see if the file downloaded correctly.

Just to make sure, there's only 1 way to unlock as of now, correct? The ASUS unlocking app?

[FLASHABLE] Repackaged OTA update 9.4.5.26 US/WW versions

After my thread for the TF101, here are my first repackaged OTA updates for the TF700:
First of all let me make this clear:
If you have root and want to keep it, use OTA Rootkeeper.
The original recovery is removed from the blob, so you won't lose your current recovery.
If after flashing one of these zips you still have the OTA update notification, do this:
Go to Settings -> Apps -> All and clear data from DMClient.
Current OTA 9.4.5.26:
US version:
us-9.4.5.22-to-9.4.5.26-TF700-CWM-v1.0.zip MD5: 2C6C763D0A7618E4AB4CB530D714F833
WW version:
ww-9.4.5.22-to-9.4.5.26-TF700-CWM-v1.0.zip MD5: E9597AD7C18483445A1F006D91A44C1B
IMPORTANT! If you deleted/changed some files, these updates will NOT work. These updates are meant for people on a stock rooted rom.
Sweet I know a few people were looking for a flashable OTA update.

AFAIK cwm zips are compatible with TWRP.
It's a generic name which is supported by most recoveries.
(TWRP or CWM) As far as we are able to unlock our TF700... That not my case...
But it's a good news for those who can
Lizard, a better title would be "[ROM][FLASHABLE]" or something. People tend to get very confused when you say "CWM" because they think no other recovery can flash it .

I've changed the title to flashable, since I don't consider the update zips to be roms. I hope this will take away some of the confusion.

You cannot downgrade from 9.4.5.30 to 9.4.5.26; the 9.4.5.30 bootloader and above accepts only signed bootloaders and the older ones are not signed.

You can no longer able to install nvflash once you already flashed above .26 version, like .30 and up. You're out of luck.

That sucks, I didn't flash .30, it came with it already installed. I'm used to flashing my phones, so it should be no problem flashing my tablet. Thank you very much for your help.
If you've flashed roms on other phones or tablets in the past then you should be fine. Just don't do anything crazy and you shouldn't brick it. I don't have NV Flash capabilities on mine, though I had the chance to but updated my bootloader anyway. Doesn't bother me as I'm not a dev and won't be doing anything crazy on mine. I've done plenty of flashing on many phones and the Asus Prime in the past, so I'm not worried about it

Just be careful to never choose "wipe data" in the bootloader menu without a working (compatible to bootloader) recovery, that is the #1 reason for hard bricks:

.30 firmware bootloader overwrites TF300 JB bootloader

Move to dev if better suited there.
Thanks goes to saltxyz for this find.
For those of us on the TF300 JB bootloader you can revert back to ICS using my instructions in my other post here only be sure to grab the new .30 firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1873635
Not only is ICS running smoothly again thanks to the bootloader but THE .30 BOOTLOADER ALLOWED THE JB KERNEL TO RUN!!
That's right I was able to flash my own TF300 ROM which has everything but the kernel removed from the blob and it ran JB while leaving the bootloader intact.
nice! good to hear asus has things figured out.
I'm guessing this is part of the prep for JB with the bootloader supporting both.

I know it's stated that you have already done this, but I really don't want to screw something up and I don't have NVFlash to recover from a hard brick. Can you, or others, confirm that you can indeed move from the .13 JB bootloader to the .30 ICS bootloader successfully and then be able to use the NVFlash?
Edit: Oops, I guess this is for the TF700 only, or will this work on the actual TF300 as well? Anyone know?

[Q] How to reflash android with locked bootloader

I have a me301t, basically the same as a tf300t right? (there is no me301t forum right now). I am on 4.2.1 stock (root), but the Bluetooth isn't working, so I am wanting to reflash the stock firmware. I want to keep a locked bootloader, so I can still have warranty if I please. I've looked up a couple of videos of how to, but I am wondering if root will mess up the flashing process. I've also been wondering if I can keep root after flash with Voodoo root keeper. Any advice?

Dear all users of TF300T.
If you are using Stock ROM (Rooted/Non Rooted) and are bricked or stuck on ASUS boot screen. Then this guide is for you.
As i was using stock ROM (ROOTED) with Locked boot loader without custom recovery and my tf300t was Sofbricked due to wrong configurations at Display Pixel scaling and also reformat did not work for me.!
So i thought to create this guide which may help people out here It worked for me Try your LUCK.
Sorry if i am re posting i did not got any guides out here...
If this helped you please give me a Thumbs up.!
Steps:-
1. Download the latest ROM from ASUS website Which matches your SKU.(Important).
It would look somehing like this (TF300T-TW_epad-10_6_1_15_3-UpdateLauncher . zip)
2. Extract it and rename that file to ( EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip )
3. Now copy this new renamed file to SDCARD (Root of sd card). Put the SDcard into tablet.
4. Now Press and hold Volume Down + Power for a few seconds. Then you will see the ASUS recovery options.
5. 3 icons will appear: RCK, Android, and Wipe Data. The RCK should be flashing green. Press the UP Volume Key Once.
Now wait for a few minutes. It will flash the ROM.
And wola! Your TF300T will again work fine!!

TF300T rooting question

Hello everyone.
The reason i am making this thread is to ask the ladies and gentlemen of this forum a bit of a noobish question.I have had for awhile now a Asus Transformer TF300T.It is completely stock and unrooted.I wish to get it rooted so i can use a certain number of apps and maybe in the future try to flash a different ROM for the first time.I have been reading about it on the forum and have sadly been overwhelmed by the number of threads, each saying something else(dont use this method if you have this version, dont use that method if your tablet is not 10.6.1.27 etc).
So i would like to provide you with the screenshot of my tablets specs and ask you to point me in the direction of the thread/post which i can use to root my specific version of the device. If you need any more information tell me what you need and i will do my best to provide it.
Thank you for your time, and please forgive me for any grammar mistakes i might have made, since english is not my native language.

You have Android 4.2, which means you can flash JellyBean or KitKat ROMs. For JellyBean ROMs, you will need TWRP 2.6.3.0 - 42. For KitKat ROMs, you will need TWRP 2.6.3.2, available in the threads of those ROMs.
Also good tip: Never press Wipe Data in the bootloader menu if you have unlocked your bootloader. It will result in a brick.
Try NvFlash out. It will create backups that make your tablet much harder to brick.

First check your bootloader version and make sure you have downloaded the right TWRP for that version. If your bootloader is older than 10.6.1.15.3, I highly recommend upgrading it. Then make sure you pick the -42 version of TWRP. Neither -ics nor -jb versions will work with 10.6.* bootloaders.

It is exactly your problem. Use TWRP -42 for the TF300T to flash 4.2-based ROMs and TWRP 2.6.3.2 or later from the OmniROM thread for flashing 4.4-based ROMs.
Again, the TWRP -ics and -js versions do not work on your bootloader. A lot of people bricked their tablets trying to use them on a 10.6.* bootloader.
The TF300T versions will work just fine on your TF300TG.

[SOLVED] TWRP Instal

Just got a brand new TF700T today. I unlocked it and rooted it successfully. I am trying to instal TWRP so I can instal CM11 however I cannot make it happen the easy way. Goomanager is gone (what happened with that?) from the play store. Both Flashify and TWRP Manager can't find a recovery for the TF700T. What gives?
Firmware 10.6.1.14.4-20130329 if it matters. JB 4.2.1.
Id really like to avoid fastboot if I can.

If you are still on stock the easiest way is to flash the latest Asus firmware.
Download your JB 4.2.2 SKU version from Asus support downloads site, unzip the downloaded file once resulting in another zip, and copy that second zip to the root of your internal SD.
The system should recognize the update file, pop up a notification about an update being available and flash it. If it doesn't, reboot.
You will loose root, but you don't need it to flash a custom rom following this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2688891
Thanks to lj50036 I was able to get CM11 on there successfully. Everything is running so much better than it was with the stock rom. I really appreciate it!
