Hi Mesaman,
Your RIL and baseband don't have to match up for your phone to work. I've never tried GetRIL but I have flashed different RILs and radios/basebands between ROMs and haven't had any problems. The only things I've noticed are slight changes in signal and battery life. Have you noticed anything odd?
I know that some devs include certain RILs with their ROMs; maybe when you installed Bruce's kang the RIL included wasn't a match with the stock baseband you are running? Not that it really matters but that explains the notification in GetRIL.

coredroid sound issue

I just flashed the newest version of coredroid and i'm hearing a lot of static on my end. According to the person on the other end, I sound clear.
26.06.06.14_M - Radio and RIL
I tried flashing turbonium's R1 fix but the static is still there.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Can you check for a typographical error in your post, I don't recognize that radio. If you meant 26.06.04.14_M, that is a generic test radio. You should just flash the updated stock radio that got pushed out to the stock Inspires at the end of April. It's been working well across all sorts of ROMs (Froyo, GB, Sense, AOSP). It's version 26.06.06.30 and you can get it from my dropbox here. The RIL that came with this radio is 2.2.0079HM, which you can get from here.
edit: my second recommendation (since you're using a Gingerbread/Sense ROM) is radio 26.09.04.11_M2. I believe the RIL that comes with CoreDroid is 2.2.0131HM which is already the recommended RIL for this radio.
Thanks and yes it looks like I did have a typo.
I will try the new radio and see if it makes a difference.

Fixing a GPS issue on cm7

I am targetting the "gps icon doesn't even pop up issue" and NOT the "gps icon pops up but I don't get a lock quickly" issue. (For the latter, try faster fix perhaps)
After reading this cyanogenmod issue comment I decided that it might be a hint to my problem.
While investigating this fault, I read this post and found that the RIL with cyanogenmod didn't match my (now far newer) radio.
To solve this, I flashed an old radio and things started working. I then flashed a new radio and then the matching RIL (from here) and things continued working.
I would have posted in the development section/threads but apparently seen as I haven't posted 10 newbie questions I'm not ready for it so...
tl;dr: If you have a 'new' radio, flash a matching RIL & your GPS issues may be resolved.
Your rils should always match your radios for that reason and others. This doesn't just occur on CM7, but in any ROM if you're radio and ril are mismatched.

I have installed the newest Radio 10.15.9035.02_2 with RIL HTC-RIL 2.2.0173HMQ but gps doesn't lock. No Icon...
Even installed faux and tiamat kernel but nothing helped.
Now i will try to install an older radio maybe that's it.

I don't think that's been made obvious in any of the big threads though. This is my first android so I'm new to things as I'm sure many others are. That said, I'm not entirely clueless and unable..

I can't give you an exact answer as to what the results would be but if it were me I would flash the one with the ril(radio interface library) as far as I know each radio has its own corresponding ril.
For example, if right now you have ucla2 radio and ril on your device and you flash ucla3 radio with no ril you'll be left with a ucla3 radio and a ucla2 ril. Again I'm no expert but I hope this helps:beer:

most people said the same with you , however some others said the cm9 have already merged the uclf6 files in there roms , so no need the ril from radio any more . anyone can confirm that for us . please .

Can't confirm it but if the uclf6 ril files are in there, technically there would be no need to flash a radio with the ril files included. But!.....its not going to hurt anything if you do flash a radio with the ril files included. Again, if it were me, I would flash the radio with the ril files included in the .zip:thumbup:

CyanogenMod 7.2 Stable Inspire 4G Radio

Hi all,
First off sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I've been doing a good bit of reading on XDA but first post (woot). I am using an HTC Inspire 4g that has been rooted and S-OFF. I am a fan of the CodeFireX 4.2.2 SR15 ROM, but need something a little more stable for the next couple months, so I am reverting to the last stable CM 7.2 release (gb) and I was wondering if anyone knew if the latest radio's and RIL's . I have experience flashing ROMs and gapps and a couple radios, but I am curious if any of the newest radios will work (or just the ones listed at the bottom of the cyanogenmod Ace wiki page?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Flash and find out. Radios are location dependant. I'm using last cm nightly and the radio signal is bad but I'm too lazy to flash a different radio to find out.
Rils are for sense roms. Whatever ril comes with the non-sense rom, thats the ril to use.

Thanks for the tip, I wasn't too sure about the RIL's. I had just read that the wrong/incompatible radio being flashed could brick the phone, so I wanted to see if anyone had tried.

[Q] Do I need to update my radio?

How does one determine which radio should be used?
I haven't flashed radios back since it was mandatory with the Android Revolution ROM. I'm using CM10 now, and am going to be flashing Albinoman's CM10.1 soon here. Admittedly this is a bit greek to me, and I'd hate to break my phone flashing the wrong radio.

HBOOT-1.27.1100 [Revolutionary]
Radio-11.76A.3504.00P_11.24A.3504.31_M
Firmware: (Unknown - not shown in "About Phone," believe I'm on 3.32) - Will be flashing 3.33 from this thread.
There is a thread with a bunch of radios in it, but I'm not sure if any of those are carrier dependent, or based on other things.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
You should try to install albino's ROM without changing anything,to begin with.
It may work well straight out of the box.
Only start changing radios and firmware if you have signal problems.
Firmware 3.33 and 3.32 Are virtually identical, and I think the radios are in fact the same.
What about the RILs? I never understood that part..

Hi,
Rils work with the radio to give you good signal for your area.
Rils are included in the ROM.
You can also go to the market and get an app called "GetRil"
This will check your radio/ril combination, and ensure you have the best match.

Thanks, mate!

So I used this app with Albinoman's Rom, and it came up "Unknown RIL" - won't give me any options beyond that. All I was allowed to do was send a report.

Hi,
It has been a while since I used albino's ROM.
People did report that Getril did not work too well with 4.2.2 ROMS.
I guess that has not changed.
On the up-side,the ril that was incorporated in albino's ROMS worked well for most people.
Are you having any signal problems?

Unfortunately yes, my signal is constantly fluctuating from 3 bars to no bars every 30 or so seconds. Can't receive calls unless I have three or more bars. Missing 90% of calls, unable to make outgoing calls at all.
Made the build.prop change for T-MOUS recommended in Albinoman's build - no improvement.

Hi,
The first question you asked was :
" How does one determine which radio should be used?"
The best radio is the one that works for you.
Was your signal good with your previous ROM?
The radio you have is 11.24
There is a later version HERE which is 11.29
If you had a good signal before, then it could just be the ril that you had in the previous ROM.
It may be possible to get that ril and use it on albino's ROM.
You could also ask about rils in the radio/ril thread.
Of course, you must be s-off to change any firmware or radio.
Flashed the latest radio, now I can't make or receive any phone calls whatsoever. Phone displays 2 bars, but as soon as I try to make a call, goes to zero.
Apparently if my Wi-Fi is on, it kills my Mobile Signal. Keeping Wi-Fi off is allowing me to make calls, for the moment.

The safest way is to get an app called GetRil from play store and check if your radio and ril are matched properly.
Try this first and then change your radio if it still isn't working.
You can get radios from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867
You need to try radio/ril combinations till you get it right.
A lot of people have radio problems with albomanion Rom
You can also see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348361. It is not exactly for your Rom, but it might help
Happy to help.
