http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679125
installed all ok
but after startup i got this message
"unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped"
black screen, to restart had to pull of battery
inboot:
*** UNLOCKED ***
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.02.0002
Radio 3831.19.00.110
weird that it is still S-ON why? if i did unlocked bootloader with htcdev

Don't pull battery, it can kill phone.
Did you flash boot.img ? Through fast boot? Did you perform full wipe before the flash?
If you use htcdev you don't change to s-off status, you stay s-on but unlocked, it's different, read more
Sywepd form my DsereiS

i had the top statusbar not all the screen was black and i had to pull out the battery to restart, anyway did all steps of installing again for now its ok, thank you.

Pulling the battery out should never be required. Hold down the Vol+, Vol- and Power button to force a full restart.

problem
i have a similar problem with you. after wiping cache, dalvik and system, i flashed Fallout v5.0 on my desire s, booted to fastboot and flashed the kernel, then hit the restart button. some applications update, then htc one logo comes up. all good until some errors shows up:"Unfortunately, Phone has stopped." and "Unfortunately, the process com.htc.bgp has stopped." and my phone goes to htc one logo again. the errors shows up in like 20-30 sec after the logo. what should i do?

Try to Fix Permissions from within your Recovery (4ext touch recovery or clockworkmod, whichever you have). That should mostly cure all these issues. You will find that in Tools.

[Q] [PB] Blocked at start screen

Good afternoon,
I tried to apply the RUU update : RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.5_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_219480_signed
the installation went correctly (as it was told on the computer), but when the phone reboot for the first time, it get stuck on the HTC screen (white screen with HTC in green)
Before doing that operation I tried several ROMs so I installed the Revolutionnary recovery.
These are the information I get when I start the phone with (VOL Down + Power).
SAGA PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-6.98.1002
RADIO-3822.10.08.04_M
eMMC-boot
- I tried to apply an other RUU update, but the program cannot detect my phone (I get a USB error).
- I tried to enter in the recovery mode, but I am blocked on a screen with a phone and a little red triangle...
- I tried to force the update with loading my phone with a previous custom ROM renaming it "PG88IMG.zip" or "update.zip"
Do you have other ideas ??
I am still searching for a recovery ROM that I can force to be installed and from that I would be able to install another ROM but I cannot find this ...
please I need some help ...
Thank you in advance,
Romain
maybe it will work
I download the PG88IMG-RECOVERYIMG-v3.1.0.2-arco-mod.zip
I renamed it PG88IMG.zip
I reboot with the VOL Down + Power, and I think I update the recovery. I have to change the name, reboot and try to enter in the recovery mode ...
I cross my fingers ...
It worked !!!!!

flashing official roms (htc screen stuck)

My dad's desire s is stuck on the htc screen on boot.
I am wondering can i flash the official rom on to it to fix it?
I have already tried factory reset which it doesn't do anything and recovery does the same.
When i put it into the hard reset mode (vol down + power buttons) i get:
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-0.98.0000
RADIO-38.03.02.11_M
eMMC-boot

I have no idea where to find this rom. I have been looking around on the forum most of this evening and am I right in saying I have to use RUU to flash the rom?
I don't want to root the phone as it is my dad's and not my own. I have a GS2 and I can flash a rom without rooting the phone can I do the same with the Desire S?
man ur crazy!! ur never gona able to flash a custom rom without Rooting the desire s..
n more over the the phone shud b s-off for u to proceed!
read blogs on desire S development!
Ok thanks I thought cause I can flash an official room on my gs2 I might be able to do the same with my dads desire s. Looks like its back to the shop then.

Power off the phone.
Use the mentioned combo (vol down + power buttons) to get to hboot.
Select recovery from menu. The phone will boot to a black background with a red exclamation mark.
Press Volume Up and Power. You will enter the recovery menu.
Select wipe cache. When it finishes reboot the phone.
It should work again
Thanks but I tried that. It keeps freezing whatever I try. Factory reset freezes on hboot screen. And recovery just shows a black screen even when I left it for a while.

[Q] HTC Desire - Firmware issues

Hi all,
I have a strange issue and i am not sure if this hs been discussed before (Looked everywhee and i cannot seem to find an answer).
The Problem: I have a Desire S and i am in Australia (Carrier: Telstra), It was working fine without any issues and i had installed Generic European Firmware in the phone, Since this morning, when the battery died the phone has been on a white screen that says hTc and nothing happenns.
I went to HBOOT and tried recovery and everything that i could, downloaded customs rom tries installing through PC and through memory card but nothing happens.
This is what my phone shows when i go into HBOOT
SAGA PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT -6.98.2000 (PG8811000)
RADIO- 3822.10.08.04_M
eMMC - boot

Options that i can play around are:
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY- goes back to hTc Logo and later on come up with green recycle sign and immediately after that phone icon with exlamation mark.
FACTORY RESET- goes back to hTc Logo and shows a green installation sign on the phone icon just below that progess bar with memory card at the end and goes back to hTc logo in white and stays like that.I have a Telstra's ROM (telstra.zip) in the SD Card
SYSTEM INFO
IMAGE CRC
any ideas on how can i install something on it, or do i need to send it back to HTC.
Please help!
You can install custom ROM only via Recovery. You need custom recovery for that.
The red exclamation mark confirms that you have stock recovery (press Vol UP + Power and you will enter), but it is short of options (reboot, install update.zip and wipe cache) You can try to install telstra.zip with the second option but then you will have troubles with your hboot version - 6.98. There will be a conflict with the one in the telstra.zip so you will have the white screen and logo again.
So you have 2 options:
1) flash custom Recovery via fastboot command /or Android flasher - it is easier/ and then custom ROM
2) flash eng 0.98.2000 hboot via fastboot command /or Android flasher/, then use a RUU to restore to complete stock

are you rooted?
what exactly did you do and you get stucked?
the red triangle means that you don't have recovery installed
give bootloader details(unlocked or locked,S-ON or S-OFF etc)
also try to boot your device from the bootloader
No , s-on and im not rooted
i have locked
pyramid pvt ship s-on RL
Hboot-1.27.0000
eMMC-boot

HBOOT
FAST BOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK

I didnt get your last sentence , what to do ? if its the fast boot menu and rebooting i already tried that.

yes i meant that
but actually there is nothing you can do without losing all your data, backups etc
do factory reset or
if you have patience wait someone else to give you some other solution
but i doubt if there is anything to do without losing all your stuff
Anyone else ?

[Q] Phone won't turn off, restarts instead

Currently: HTC sensation, hboot 1.27.1111 juopunutbear s-off. ARHD 7.3 rom
previously locked hboot 1.29 s-off, had to get juopunutbear to flash splash screen from fastboot but at this time phone was already not powering off
was working fine yesterday, today everytime i try to turn off (by holding the power button and choosing "power off"), the phone restart instead (downanimation plays, then bootanimation plays, there is no splash screen(the "screaming" white htc screen in stock), the whole process if pretty quick relative to a cold boot - there IS a splash screen if i take the battery out and turn on the phone cold boot though).
Phone will turn off if I use the "power" menu from 4ext recovery control app.
what I did today:
install Multi Swap
Install 4ext recovery control
I uninstalled 4ext recovery control, phone still not turning off. ANyone know what's going on?
Also installed a new 64gb card yesterday... I think that's all I did
Hi I had this issue once, it was because of the down animation being a boot animation.

If u can go to recovery then wipe all and reflash the Rom this should fix it
