[Q] about root my new SG Note N7000 - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys

I have experience with SGSII and SGSIII with root and install much ROMs and kernels, modems...
My new Note N7000 (I buy late ) It´s to use in my business, I need one speed stock base ROM because default stock ROM It´s to slow...
This device is ICS 4.0.3 baseband XXLPT / kernel compilation XXLPY
I read in one post that It´s dangerous root or flashing this kernel version but not sure...
Can I flash my device normaly with I do in my SGSIII? (enter recovery, install CF-Root, install Mobile Odin Pro, copy an other ROM in ExtSDCard and finaly flash to recovery mode)

Good! I have an OSX OS and is beautyful for me, use a recovery rooted without PC.
first I use: Rooting with stock recovery Phil3759 PhilZ-cwm6-XXLPY-XEN-2.5-signed.zip (My stock ROM XXLPY). This metoth install root + safe kernel, right?
Them, I install Mobile odin pro tu install for example Crach ROM v10.1
Only caution with no wipes with stock kernel I supose... When I install PhilZ-cwm6-XXLPY-XEN-2.5-signed.zip, I can to wipes and install any ROMs safely

[Q] I need some answers about Nexus S

So I bought Nexus S from second hand recently mostly because it will get official ICS support from Google.
So because it's second hand buy, I really don't know if I'm using original bootloader, kernel, radio etc.
It's rooted (because I have Superuser app), I think it has stock 2.3.6 android (build number GRK39F) and kernel version 2.6.35.7-gf5f63ef, [email protected]#1.
Can someone who use stock android and original kernels confrime to me that this is right version?
I really want to update to ICS using incremental update which I found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445635) but I'm affraid to don't screw something because of bad experience when I radio bricked my desire
Can I update it to ICS or I need to do unroot or something?
Just download the correct stock ICS rom for your device (if it is I9020T or I9023) ,put it on the SD root and then flash it using the stock or CWM recovery and be done with it (if you need the ICS)
most likely you won't be update by OTA because you are rooted (system file verification will fail)
just download stock ICS ROM and flash it ...
Ota will install fine if its a stock rom with just root. The update script basically checks that everything that should be there is there . If there is something else in there like su it don't matter.
flashing a new rom is the best way to go if you have cwm installed already
I succesfuly flashed ICS and first impressions are very good.
But I think I lost recovery...

flash a CWM recovery via adb , or there is TWRP recovery in DEV section , which is very good .

A question about clockwork recovery

I have a galaxys s i9003 with a jxkp3 baseband version. I wanted to install CWM on it, but as I saw on the forum there are a million different version CWM for different firmwares and I couldn't find a version that is meant to work with my firmware. Could anybody help me by telling what clockwok mod works with my phone? and possibly provide a link of where I can find it.
Second think I'd like to ask is if anybody can provide me with a link to su binaries that work with my firmware.
Thanks in advance
u have to root your device. (root by flash any cf-root or some kernel as PDA in Odin) because these kernels are alredy add on your device.

CWM comes with rooting the device w/ the superuser. So if you install a kernel CWM comes too. Download the bagaria.tar then follow the instructions carefully
Hope you hit thanks.
CHEERS
Is there any special kernel for this version? I want to upgrade my kernel too and also I would like to continue receiving updates over Kies.

the following steps will do

This device is not supported by Rom manager and clockworks.
For sony devices you need to read the device forum (As i stated above) and use flashtool to root (And flash stock ftf's) and to flash custom (Stock based) roms you need a CMW based recovery (A dev will have made one in that device forum I presume).
Furthermore, to flash custom kernel you will need an unlocked bootloader.
Sony only have official bootloader unlocking for some 2011/12 devices, so it may only be possible on this device if a dev has found an unnoficial way
very true

[Q] what to start with my N8000?

Hi all
Iam Note 1 N7000 owner and know every thing about rooting, change kernels, CWM, apps etc etc....
I got my new N8000 4.1.2
want to know how to have:
1- Root
2- better kernel than stock
3- CWM
4- best rom for latest android supporting all languages (or just including Arabic) and including all mods
5- best mods to be flashed
Since no one helped, I found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080366
But it is about :
root without CWM or flash CWM then flash root
and I found this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102677
but also about flash CWM then flash root
In note 1 N7000 best kernels come with root and CWM, is there a smellier one?
What is the best kernel? and is it needed?

Rooting GT-n8013 Android Version 4.1.2

I want to update my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8013) Android version 4.1.2 (Build JZ054K.N8013UEUCOI1). I saw an article in this forum by Samir_a as a sticky thread dated in Jan 2013 and I would like to follow that thread (once I find it again). Title it was a sticky with the title Guide - Installing Firmware, CWM recovery & Rooting.
First I have some questions: 1) will my data and apps still be there? If not is there an easy way to backup my stuff so I won't lose it.
The following are questions I have from Samir_a article.
("Firmware - you can download either from Samfirmware or http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2016792"). ("Once you download the files you will need to extract, the extracted file should have the following extention .tar.md5 remember the path where you extract the file"). Is this the ROM or what? If it is the ROM, how do I find the right version? I didn't see 8013 listed.
("Odin - you can download again from the above link.") I did find ODIN 3.12.3 as a download: is this the correct version??
("Note drivers - Should be installed with Kies (Make sure you exit kies before proceeding further)" What are these drivers and where do I find Kies.
Sorry to take up a lot of your time but I want to do this right. I have flashed BIOS on PCs before but this is different.
There is no update for N8013 last version is 4.1.2
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-N8013/
Root and recovery are only required for custom firmwares not stock .

I do want to get beyond the standard 4.1.2. I'm asking for guidance on that subject. First question is will I lose my apps and data??
But your question is .
Rooting GT-n8013 Android Version 4.1.2
Then you are asking about downloading firmware from sammobile = stock not custom .
Next you say you want custom not stock .
Sorry i don't know what you actually want .
custom roms .
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-1/development
If its a custom rom first choose your custom rom then read its instructions .
I'm sorry if my questions have not been clear but I DO want "custom" software which I think comes with "rooting" my tablet. I have my tablet for years and there seems to be nothing on the horizon beyond 4.1.2. Therefore I am willing to root my tablet to get to newer version of android.
Choose your custom rom .
