[Q] What would happen; N8000 firmware to P5100 - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I apologize if this is a stupid question but.......
My P5100 is running 4.0.4, what would happen if I flash (is that the correct word to use?) it with the 4.0.4 firmware designed for the N8000 (Galaxy Note 10.1)?

Do not try this
May hard brick your tab
The hardware is different so the tab may not boot at all (dead)

You wind up with a fancy expensive door stop.

How to install Jellybean 4.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S3?

Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
This should help
First of all, there is no official Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S III.
Second of all, the only working (as in functioning but not for daily use) port of Jelly Bean is for the i9300 (international model) only.
Thirdly, buying a carrier-specific model was the worst mistake you could make. You have a locked bootloader on your Verizon version, and on top of that, you'll be one of the last people to get the update, if Verizon even feels like pushing it out.
Short answer: Don't waste your breath.

I could use some help with this too. Specifically, is it possible for me to unroot it if required (clearing any traces of having rooted) ?

Hi!
The fastest solution is installing Kies and force emergency firmware installation.

Isn't that just unrooting? I am on cm10 and I think running that might cause a problem.

Best explanation: you flashed a T-Mobile rom on the ROM. Both phones are very much alike, but you should still look for one for i747

You flashed a wrong ROM. flash a one for your phone and it'll return to normal

I recently flashed slim bean 4.2.2 rom and my model number got changed to I747 from T999. I reflashed it but no help. I tried to flash CM 10.1 but installation aborted.
What do you suggest guys?

[Q] are 3100 and 3110 firmwares compatible?

I'm pretty sure I've already read here that I can flash a 3110 firmware on a 3100. I know, of course, that I would loose phone and 3G features, but is this safe or would I brick the 3100?
Thanks

[Q] Reset Bin Counter

Hello, has anyone tried to use the USB Jig to reset the bin counter on 4.1.2 ?
My display stopped working after some time and i need to give it for warrant.
What i've read in other threads is that the usb jig won't work on JB.
Do you think that the counter would reset if i would install a custom rom like CM10 or just use the bootloader, use the jig to reset it and then just install the samsung stock 4.1.2 firmware from sammobile?

There is an app called triangle away
It resets your binary counter. But if u boot into custom recovery again the counter will increase again. So use this app right before you flash stock via Odin.

The problem is that my screen is not working and i cant see what i'm doing. Dev mode is not enable so i could do it over the pc.
I'm kinda out of options. I dont know if they will notice the counter if the gpu is broken, cause the screen is in tact.
Well if you have lost your display completely then it's going to be a problem. Im still confused. You lost your Display due to Software issue or Hardware?
If software try flashing firmware. If hardware like lcd is dead.. try connecting via hdmi, wlan, samsung play etc if ONLY our phone supports it.

Its a HW fault. Installed stock etc, nothing helped. the screen turns only sometimes on. Even while booting its off. You think HDMI will show my screen on my pc or tv so i can try to use triangle away?
Anyone able to guide me how to enable adb while in recovery mode so i have access to my screen over the PC. I've found a thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2238286
but it doesn't help me much out.
Solved
So, i've managed to use the ADB while in recovery and enable it in the settings files when the phone is booted. After that i've managed to install triangle away and reset the bin counter to 0. Dropped the stock and now going for my warranty
Took me some time to do that. Had a lot to read, but it was worth it.
Well done, good to know that adb can help in such cases

According to this, it does http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23951568&postcount=15
But, there are also others who say from experience of sending their device with a different country's official Rom, that it doesn't.
Depends on one's luck?

It should not void it cause its original samsung firmware, but i'd suggest to get back to the stock of your country.
Just to add that i got a brand new phone after a few days. They did not tell what got broken tho.....
