Hi I am new and cannot post in dev section.
Best solution is to use a "virtual router". Phone connect so nicely as if its an access point.
You can use free software or bash simple command in CMD. See this for more info:
http://www.itgeekdiary.com/windows-7-as-an-wi-fi-access-point/comment-page-1/
Please note you must have compatable wifi card in laptop/pc.
Please post this tip for me in the section. Cheers mate
connectify is much easier to use,
used to create virtual access point to share internet from laptop....

I have no idea if you, owners of Asus Transformer, have the same problem as me? I can pair with any device but no transfer is possible. I am using PRIME! v1.4 WW_epad-8.4.4.5-20110527 .

Actually, I managed to do that a couple of times from my rooted Galaxy S using BT file transfer. I backed up my apps and just bluetoothed them onto my TF... but now it doesn´t work anymore, and I don´t get why!

you can also try the downloading Astro File Manager and the Astro Bluetooth module, both available from the market as well.
you can send any file is you rename it first to .zip then on the transformer rename it back to the original extension.
using any of the methods described in any of the above posts.
please could someone post original wpa_supplicant from KB3 firmware? thanks!

I did the exact same thing. In retrospect, I can't believe I was retarded enough not to make a backup of the original file first.

Unfortunately that link doesn't work. Could you post again? Thanks in advance.
Ad-hoc workaround needed
I have tried everything to get AD-HOC wifi on my phone.
wpa_supplicant 0.6xx / terminal commands / softwares like Connectify etc
Android apps are able to see the AP , but can't connect.
Eagerly waiting for Android to natively support AD-HOC connections , If there is any workaround , pls share it.

Not Yet buddy. Crashed my wifi in all attempts. Seems in ICS, we have some other file apart from wpa_supplicant that is controlling the wifi. Trying to find it out.

Yes Buddy. But as quoted in that post, its not detecting ad-hoc wifi. As per the post, we can create Encrypted Wi-Fi access point (WPA2) which can be detected by ICS. But its not ad-hoc. When u use Connectify, there will be another option called Ad-hoc wifi which is yet to be made detectable by ICS.
Even the WPA2 connection works only with Windows 7 and not in Windows Vista. If you have Windows 7 in ur machine, you can try the method as suggested in the post. It shud work
Anyone can port/alter the same.. ???
I'm using Connectify for sharing internet, it's working perfectly at home and at office too.
Edit : silly me got it now regarding WEP. Sorry.

BB ROM, I have used it on all ROMs, (MAZEL, MIUI, ANGEEKS, STOCK GB AND ICS)
Using latest Connectify V3.6, and i have used all versions too 3.2,3.4
WPA2 connection,
actually connectify is not compatible with all Windows-7, it works perfectly on Service pack 1 only, and if you have luck then only it will work on others, I have 2 laptops it works smoothly on DELL, but gives deadly blue screen on other laptop, in my office I am using it on Desktop fortunately it's working here too.

Bro, you start connection in WPA2 mode ???
but i dont have that option in my laptop...in mine only two are available.
1. Ad-HOC Open
2. Ad-HOC, Secured
There is no WPA2 mode, thats why i need a modded WPA SUPPLICANT file which will further enable AD HOC connection to be detected in my SGR.
For GB ROM i had a working WPA SUPPLICANT file, but now in ICS no one managed it to port it or make it work
Saw this in one of the comments in the link mentioned in op
a more simpler solution would be to download and install VIRTUAL ROUTER on ur wifi enabled laptop. open in, set up username n password, then press start. after tht just turn on wifi on ur phone, scan, select, enter password. done!
Will this thing work on our device?
