I have a i9000m from bell canada. I flashed the latest nightly build of CM7 for my phone (update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-GalaxyS-signed) everything seemed to go without a hitch... until i tried to make a call, txt, browse etc...
Now my phone cant get onto the bell network and when scanning networks through network provider i only see CAN rogers network....
Help please i dont see what i did wrong and really like the cm7 rom.
Hey guys, anyone with a Wind Optimus 2x able to get the gingerbread update?
its a g2x not a 2x and use the LG tool after installing CWM incase of some sort of fault occurs.
The wind mobile Optimus 2x is identical to a g2x, it just has a different name.
Anyways the LG software doesnt work for me, it says im already up to date. Any other wind mobile people here?
if the phone is the same then you shouldnt have a problem flashing the rooted versions posted on the developer section, you really dont want to use the baseband on the official update it might not work with your carrier ~
My phone's also the P999 from Wind. I get this same message, can't update. According to LG, there is no GB update for this phone yet! (two reps said so! How is it working for all of you without them realizing!)
I'd hope to ask what the best thing to run at the moment is, especially on Wind, preserving functionality with the AWS band. I cannot flash this new LG update, and with limited time left until I must keep the phone, us with Wind want to know what the best stable/fast thing to get onto this phone would be. It must be reversible to exact factory state for returnability... I don't know how far the flashing goes but when the phone boots it shows the Wind graphic. Will I be able to get it back to this state?
and ya you need to root and put the tmobile rom on and btw to the guy who said it might not work wind is the same network as tmobile

When I wanted to update, WIND representative told me that they will not be pushing any updates, so you'll have to do it yourself.
FYI, there are 3 phones that people confuse: Optimus 2x P990, Optimus 2x P999 and the T-mobile G2x. The P990 is usually not in North America. Wind's Optimus 2x P999 is the later, polished up version of T-mobile's G2x. Think of it that WIND's is the same phone, but with hardware bugs fixed. So, for ROM installations, use T-mobile's G2x's ones.
If you're going to update, you might as well try a custom ROM.
I am currently running CM7 GingerBread - much more customization options than stock, longer battery life, blah, blah...
And to answer your hidden question, no issue with WIND's network. It finds it automatically. Always.
On a different note, you don't ACTUALLY need the root, but it doesn't hurt to have it.
I have seen many threads talking about basebands, but I can't find anyone clearly explaining in which country/region a given baseband in supposed to work well, and where it doesn't.
I need a Gingerbread baseband for my Optimus 3D that will fully work in Latin America region, I'm afraid to get in trouble if I flash the european GB baseband I found in this forum, and loose some (or all) frequencies in my country.

I know these boards have picked up a bit but it's kind of depressing considering all the action I see when I check up on the Sensation threads for my other phone. You'd think that because this phone is so sweet and comes completely unlocked there would be a lot of development going on.

I have no idea why it's not working. Both AT&T and Bell use the 850 and 1900mhz frequencies for their respective UMTS networks, but up in Canada we can't even get the phone to recognize our network. I'd be happy with 3G speeds for now, but that's not even possible. I wonder if AT&T uses other bands for 3G speeds as well?
My phone is a P920 of European origin and have had to put the 3G baseband of a Thrill. This in Froyo. Also the one I have worked p920h.
Until no one KDZ for America or get a baseband for this continent, you lose the 3g frequencies 850 and 1900.
Keep in mind that the baseband is independent of the rom, which means that after installing the baseband you can put any rom, whether European or American.
The Ginger there so far is European and therefore everything is lost that frequency.

just a quick question, my carrier works under 2100 Mhz I am located in Costa Rica, if I do put the euro version will the network not work....

I'm using euro gb fw, and everything is working fine, although I have an edge icon instead of 3g, think it's cause of the region can't remember if it happened with my old x10.
this can be an issue unless it's showed like that when not having data enabled

I happen to be in a 1900 umts AT&T area, but it was too spotty and I went back to Froyo. Though for those of us who have to wait, I have a froyo custom kernel with init.d support below (thrillz) that I've been running on my p925 on the roadrunner rom.

I figured I would install the GB KDZ again.
For no apparent reason after the reboot I was registered on the network (Bell) and have had no problems as of yet (Only has been an hour or so).
I wish I had an answer as to why it worked this time.

Apparently Rogers is one of the last carriers to get on board with Gingerbread and is holding up LG.

Good Morning,
My device is a Rogers device unlocked and used on the Bell network.
After flashing the V21a Gingerbread KDZ a second time I am having no issues at all!
I wish I could tell you why it worked this time when the original baseband flash method and my first flash of the V21a KDZ both resulted in network issues.
I didn't do anything differently the second time I flashed the KDZ and was immediately registered on the network. I have had no issues since lastnight.
I will let you know if anything changes!

Thanks for the info. I guess since you got on the bell network, the rogers network should also work? Maybe not actually because rogers GSM. Is your connection Gsm Too? I am a bit nervous flashing kdz file. Its not standard zip flash through cwm is it?
I also worried about flashing baseband.
Do you know if I have made nandrroid backup of my 2.2 and need to restore, will my backup flash 2.2 baseband back on automatically?

When running speedtests I average between 2.5 and 5.5 Mbps (depending on the time of day). This is pretty much what I saw on Froyo. No complaints here!

The phone is running great. I currently have the Acura ROM installed.
Battery life is an incredible improvement!
The icon I have is "H" (so 3G not HSPA+ yet); and the speeds are as previously mentioned averaging between 2.5 Mbps and 5.5 Mbps depending on the time of day and signal strength.
No random disconnects; voice and data (3G/WIFI) work without issue.

Hello people..... I've tried Nova Hd, Cyanogen, Hellfire, Chuck Norris etc....they are all amazing and the amount of work that went into these ROM's is quite apparent... But my LG Optimus 2X will not connect to the Videotron 3G network.... Rogers remains its preferred network with all the ROM's I've installed and with none of the ROM's do I even get Videotron as a choice... Videotron is present in the apn .xml files and I did also input APN settings manually on the phone but to no avail... Is it possible that the phone will only connect to the Rogers network since it was originally a Rogers phone?.. Could it be a SIM problem? I am at a loss... I've been working on this piece of s**t for two weeks now and my head hurts... help please, thank you, Frank from Montreal.
After more testing i realised that I am able to connect to Telus and Bell as well as Rogers....still no Videotron...what is going on?
i have a su760 from korea and i live in USA with tmobile... ive gotten all other things working except for my data is only g... is there a way to get 3g? could somebody kindly assist? I appreciate All the hard work the dev's (mainly the dark lestat and xbsall) have put into helping us with this phone and will definitely appreciate the help to fix this issue... just so were on same page. i HAVE searched for days on the forum and iam sure there is something that will help... USA TMobile network lg su760 on v10k
