after i install this hayruko's version it seems that i'm having a problem with my browser. even when i change the uia string via about:debug to change it to desktop version after a while the browser goes back to mobile version are you guys having the same problem? i hate mobile browser version is there anyway to permanently change the uia string instead of keep changing it everytime i go to my browser?
Actually, if you configure it on googles site (search preferences) to use full html you will be fine. It is not an issue with the browser, but with google automatically dumming down the pages it lists in search results.
1) Go directly to google.com and select the settings link.
2) Truen off "Format web pages for your phone"
3) Save.
Hope this helps. If you clear cookies you will have to do this again.
did not help. there's gotta be some option to change user agent permanently...
Is there an app that will change user agent in the browser
other then about:debug don't work for some sites it still gives the mobile website
even skyfire & dolphin still show mobile sites sometimes even if it has desktop view is selected they must be using about:debug option since all they are GUI on top of the stock android browser.
only browser i seen work Xscope browser with ( UA string set to computer ) but it can't use flash 4.1 that ships in the with evo I will have to wait for froyo to get flash 10.1 and hope that xscope can use it?
it be cool if i could just use stock browser instead of having to use 3rd party browser but UA string options are very limited.
any ideas?
how can i avoid being redirected to wap websites? i tried the about:debug command in the browser but didnt see the setting to set to desktop. Also tried dolphin HD and set the user agent to desktop but Im still being routed to wap websites when i want to access the full version.
1. Which APN are you using? Is it a WAP one or an Internet one?
2. Which sites?

Im not sure how to check my APN settings. Sites like southparkstudios.com, crackberry always loads as m.crackberry, and a few other sites. Mostly I'm just curious because with flash now I wanna get the full internet experience.

technically it is not WAP - that is even worse. You just want the full site, not the mobile version.
I would try another browser that lets you change the user-agent string. It has nothing to do with your APN settings; it is the web server looking at your user-agent string and saying "android - send over the mobile page".
BTW - the setting is in our browser:
about:debug
Settings->more->settings all the way at the bottom is UA settings (User agent) - you can change it to desktop or iphone.
All i get though is a force close, and you have to clear browser cache and data (manage apps) to get it working again.
Others have had luck with xScope Lite browser in getting full sites.
Maybe its just old age but i thought i had read somewhere how to force the stock browser to load the regular web page, not the mobile page. ???
For example the Arizona Republic and hotmail automatically load in mobile view. Thats fine on my droid x but annoying on my TF...
Sure you can change the Browser to render pages is "Despktop" view. If you are on Android 3.1, open the Browser and go to Settings > Advanced > UserAgent String and select "Desktop". If you are on Android 3.0 then you must open the Browser and do the about:debug thing. But why would you still be on 3.0?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
Thanks! That worked.
has anyone tried dolphin with user agent set to ipad and tried opening youtube?
i need to know so you can change the user agent in transformer.

If you using stock browser. Open the browser, go to Settings -->Advanced --> User agent string.
hello so change the way you view the pages ,so desktop or smartphone, but the user agent identificies continuing across the user agent my transformer.
