after i install this hayruko's version it seems that i'm having a problem with my browser. even when i change the uia string via about:debug to change it to desktop version after a while the browser goes back to mobile version are you guys having the same problem? i hate mobile browser version is there anyway to permanently change the uia string instead of keep changing it everytime i go to my browser?
Actually, if you configure it on googles site (search preferences) to use full html you will be fine. It is not an issue with the browser, but with google automatically dumming down the pages it lists in search results.
1) Go directly to google.com and select the settings link.
2) Truen off "Format web pages for your phone"
3) Save.
Hope this helps. If you clear cookies you will have to do this again.
did not help. there's gotta be some option to change user agent permanently...

When opening links from the email program, it originally went to Opera. Now it goes to IE. In between, I installed and uninstalled Skyfire, but specifically told it I did _not_ want Skyfire to be the default browser. I'm not sure why it would have changed the default to IE in the process.
Now, I actually kind of prefer IE being the default for internet links (it opens faster), but I would like to know where the change for this (in the registry somewhere, I would think?) It would be nice to know so I could change it in the future.
I forgot to mention - Opera is still what launches from TF3D.
Somehow my internet browser switched to a different one for default.
Opera to IE
I want Opera to be the default browser, how can I fix this?

I have the same problem but vice versa. I like IE and NOT Opera.
I had this same issue after installing Skyfire. I found the solution for restoring Opera to default here :

[TIP] Restore Opera Mobile as default browser
If you have tried Skyfire and are wishing you could restore Opera Mobile as the default browser, there is an easy way to do this.
1) Open Opera Mobile
2) Type opera:config into the address, this gives you access to tons of preferences
3) Expand the install bullet
4) Check Browser First Time Launch and press Save
5) Exit Opera
6) Restart Opera
The first time you restart it will take a while, and may even close without showing you the browser, but now open a link from e-mail or other source and it should use Opera to open.

Thank you very much. It works!
Thank you much -- it worked for me as well. Don't know why, but Skyfire was awful on my Fuze -- slow, jerky, and wouldn't even render some pages?!?
Is there an app that will change user agent in the browser
other then about:debug don't work for some sites it still gives the mobile website
even skyfire & dolphin still show mobile sites sometimes even if it has desktop view is selected they must be using about:debug option since all they are GUI on top of the stock android browser.
only browser i seen work Xscope browser with ( UA string set to computer ) but it can't use flash 4.1 that ships in the with evo I will have to wait for froyo to get flash 10.1 and hope that xscope can use it?
it be cool if i could just use stock browser instead of having to use 3rd party browser but UA string options are very limited.
any ideas?
how can i avoid being redirected to wap websites? i tried the about:debug command in the browser but didnt see the setting to set to desktop. Also tried dolphin HD and set the user agent to desktop but Im still being routed to wap websites when i want to access the full version.
1. Which APN are you using? Is it a WAP one or an Internet one?
2. Which sites?

Im not sure how to check my APN settings. Sites like southparkstudios.com, crackberry always loads as m.crackberry, and a few other sites. Mostly I'm just curious because with flash now I wanna get the full internet experience.

technically it is not WAP - that is even worse. You just want the full site, not the mobile version.
I would try another browser that lets you change the user-agent string. It has nothing to do with your APN settings; it is the web server looking at your user-agent string and saying "android - send over the mobile page".
BTW - the setting is in our browser:
about:debug
Settings->more->settings all the way at the bottom is UA settings (User agent) - you can change it to desktop or iphone.
All i get though is a force close, and you have to clear browser cache and data (manage apps) to get it working again.
Others have had luck with xScope Lite browser in getting full sites.
On my NexS Global I have Opera set as my default browser but when I click a link in WhatsApp, for example, it opens in Chrome. I've gone into Chrome settings but can't find anything to disable it. I've also gone into the app in system settings but the default section is greyed out.
This started when I installed Chrome Beta last week so I uninstalled and went back to the regular version. The only way to stop it is by going into the default settings, selecting another browser and then selecting Opera again. But once I open Chrome for anything it takes over again. I need help guys. Any suggestions are appreciated.
