I wanted to ask you guys what is the best rom of cm9 or cm10 or other roms for gaming (games like modern combat 3, temple run, n.o.v.a. 3)?
sorry, but the best would be, to read a little bit in the threads and maybe test then some.
Every single rom has it's pro's and con's.
But anyway:
This is an developer area, for your question please use the Q&A Thread for the I9001 in the I9000 General section:

To me, use cm10 by Doomsday. I played gangstar rio on cm10 without lag thanks to projecy butter which is almost stable. the only letdown is that you can't play videos, so if you play a game with video like asphalt 6, the phone will reboot

Other suggestions?

Latest & best ROM belongs to CM9 (for overall stability), CM10 will be the next and will take the lead soon.

Let me try them, I have it already installed. Mine is a new phone, 1 week old
if u want to use ur phone the way it came then buy it but if u want to customize for better performence i.e cm7 or cm9 or any kernel tweak then dont buy because most of the customization need bootloader to be unlocked which is not possible till date

Hope that helped. And yeah, thanks, i could get to know how awesome it plays in my A2

Rooting is easy.. you can find it in the Atrix 2 Android Development section, it only takes about 20-25 minutes.. you have to be on 2.3.6 tho after you have done rooting you can download Blackmart Alpha and there is where you can find almost every app for free including games. Hope that helped a bit, By the way Atrix 2 is a good phone for gaming PowerVR SGX540 plays every game smooth, you can even use "Milestone overclock" which overclocks the phone to 1200mhz or to 1122mhz if you are not stable with the 1200mhz one. It even overclock the GPU to 384mhz.. I have played N.O.V.A 3 it runs flawlessly no lag, even played online, it plays it smooth. I have my Atrix 2 for 2 months already and so far so good, if you're gonna buy an Atrix 2 I recommend you to not buy the AT&T one. Once again, I hope it helped a bit.

Just chiming in here as another ATRIX 2 user... I'm rooted, CWM, custom rom, overclocked, ram speed and netspeed tweaks, as well as radio mod running. I have the following games running smoothly:
9mm HD
Air Attack HD
Angry Birds
Baseball Superstars II
Cogs
Contract Killer
Death Rally
Death Worm
FL Commando
Flick Golf
Guerrilla Bob
Inertia HD
Jewels Star
Killer Bean Unleashed
Mini Motor Racing
Muffin Knight
Oscura
Osmosis HD
Pinball Arcade
Raging Thunder
Reckless Getaway
Reckless Racing
Roboto
RS 2012
Shadowgun
Strikefleet
Super K.O. Boxing
Wind-up Knight
Words With Friends
World of Goo
All these games run fluidly and very nice in appearance. I've tried out many of the HD games without issue. So, you should take comfort in the fact that this phone can handle a lot of games. The only thing that's disappointing, that I have found, if that games designed to run on Tegra are NOT compatible with the MB865. But, I believe that there are workarounds for this as well...

I'm not sure about using Chainfire, though I've read here and there about it. Not too familiar with it, so I can't really attest that it will or will not work with our phone. What I have heard though, is changing the way the phone is 'displayed' to Moto servers and so forth. For example: there is a way to "fool" servers and perhaps even Play Store to "read" the phone as a different one: i.e. With Atrix 2 changing it to be "seen" as a SGS2 or other device. I'm not entirely clear on how this is done, but it may be a workaround for the Tegra incompatibility with the ATRIX 2. I'll see if I can scour the forum to find more info on this, as I have seen it discussed here before...

ohkkk .. do share ur research.. hehe..thnks man..
is Monopoly working for anyone? That is the only game which i couldn't download from EA Redemption. It says it needs some 20MB stuff, but then when downloading starts it shows 'downloading 0/0' instead of 'downloading 0/20'.
Anyone got it working fine?
Hey all!
First let me say that I searched and couldn't find any similar topic so excuse me if there's any! It might be my eyes :cyclops:
Ok so I am really considering to buy a XOOM, and I've done some good search about it and i like it! But what i couldn't really know about is the gaming experience!
Since the tab is a bit old now running with the first dual cores generation; i'm afraid that it might not run the new games in a good way!
By that i mean new games like batman, spiderman, asphalt 7, MW3 (bit old), FIFA 2012, 9mm, dead space, nova 3, etc... and all those power hungry games!
Can anyone share with me/us his experience!
And please you are welcomed to open a gaming experience conversation too in this thread so we can all share it together!
Thank you!
PS: I mean real gaming experience, lags, FPS, etc... and not games compatibility!
Don't worry, you'll find on android 80 % of games that are on iOS, and exclusivities also
Moved from 3GS to the XOOM and I downloaded back nearly all the games I had on the 3GS
Gaming on the Xoom is an extremely pleasant experience. All those *new* games work very well and the 10.1 inch screen makes it fun to game.

Asphalt and dead space run fine.
Some minor slow downs on asphalt, but nothing that hinders game play. Haven't tested dead space too much yet.
Asphalt has random slowdowns on most devices, its due to the software, look at reviews for the app and a bunch of people are complaining of lag. Its up to Gameloft to fix the lag.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Do you know what devices have trouble with Asphalt 7? It's like night and day switching between my Xoom and Galaxy Nexus with that game.
My galaxy nexus runs asphalt without a hitch, my Xoom occasionally laggs but nothing to be concerned about.

Waiting for stable version aka 3.0.0
Running at eos build 129, it is stable as hell, n no lags in any game when cpu is set to 312-1400, interactive
My Sim City doesn't work on JB though. It randomly hangs after a while.
Xoom is the best android gaming experience I had. But don't forget you can always overclock
Sent from my Nexus 7 running Froyo.
Are you considering to buy a Xoom or Xoom 2?
The Xoom is quite heavy which in my opinion lowers the game quality for some games. I don't know about the weight of Xoom 2 but there are a lot of new tablets of many manufacturers and the prices will decrease a lot. In 6 or 12 months tablets in general will be much cheaper, also the release price for new models will. Prices for used Xoom 1 will be extremely low this year around/after Christmas.
Especially for gaming consider the weight of a tablet!
Anyway good games are Six Guns and Dungeon Defenders (but they are also good on other devices).
Have fun!
The weight doesn't bother me, you get used to it.

Iam searching for a good stable htc desire s rom. That can play heavy games like, Gangster Rio, Nova 3, Asphalt 7, Gta 3. As smooth as possible!
I have tried many roms but they r all bad in heavy games. (Sometimes Crash, Freeze)
and the xperia play has exactly the same spec. as my htc desire s. And it doesn't lagg? How is this possible?

By the way i got know: ICE DS v.6.0 Rom
Android Version: 4.0.4
Sense: 3.6
Kernel: 3.0.46-Ck1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1567715
And i tried today gangster rio. and it worked way smoother than the other roms. but there is still a bit of irritation lag here and there?
i even overclocked it to 1,5 ghz. the fps raised but. however it's still laggs.
Can someone please help me or give me some advice to run games smooth on a good rom!
By the way sorry for Pretty bad english!
I couldn't realy help you, but i can say I'm playing Asphalt 7 and Temple Run on my DS. I'm uing the sam ROM like you and there are no laggs, crashes or freezes. In case of the other games I could not say anything.
Did you flash FULL_WIPE_DS befor installing ICE_DS? Maybe there is gone some performance?
AOSP ROMs will be better for this case.
Not sure how they will run on JB ROMs, but I had great performance on CM7 a long time ago. Not lag-free, DS hardware isn't capable enough, but manageable.

yes!! same here,, i bought nfs most wanted today,, played one race ,, it was laggy, went on youtube , watched a video of xperia play running the same game with few lags and running like a boss!! then i thought it must be my rom or something,, went again on youtube , watched a video of desire hd running the same game ,, and it was also lagging ,just as mine,, its kinda weird , play have the same specs as compared to our desire s, and 256 mb less ram , still it runs the game smoother,,,,,,,,,

^^^ What he said ^^^ I don't play games on my phone much, but never had a problem either on pure CM7 or on Reaper. The latest games are going to struggle as devs are optimising them for quad-core devices, but that's to be expected.

Hey,
Iam using vipersaga rom and i noticed that Fifa 12 (paid app) lags here and there. it's very annoying if you want to score a goal and the frames drop like hell.
Can somebody help me plz. i even overclocked it @1.5ghz Performance. but it still lags. Same for Subway Surfer (free app).
i tried many roms but these games still lag so can somebody recommed me a good rom for these games?
Thx

Firstly, you are playing modern games which are designed for the newer phones - quad-core etc.
Secondly, there have been at least 10 threads this month from people asking for the best ROM for gaming. Try a non-ICS ROM - Reaper, CM7.2, Endymion.
Agree with Simon, but I think a lot of the lag is actually due to sense running in the background. I've noticed lag all all sense roms granted not to the extent to which you describe. Reaper is a lovely rom for gaming though.

Pure CM7 in my opinion is the best ROM for any sort of performance. Running CM7 stable at 729MHz or 748MHz will allow you to play most non-demanding games. Most new 3D games however won't work that well. I use CM10 on a regular basis and it does play games like original Angry Birds, Cut The Rope, Ice Cream Jump, etc. with playable framerates with only occasional drops but these don't impact gameplay to me. However games like Angry Birds Space, Temple Run 1 and Need For Speed Shift won't work on CM10 but will on CM7. Again these games even on CM7 overclocked do get framedrops because the hardware on the O1 just wasn't designed for intense 3D gaming. It was barely designed to be capable of playing back 480p video. In the end though pure CM7 does do a very good job and I highly recommend it.
