how to stop headset from track skipping? - HTC One S

I'm not exactly sure of this, but I think when I run with my ONE S, listening to music, my sweat tends to short the music controller on my headphones, 'causing the phone to skip tracks. It will skip tracks or fast-forward until I unplug the headphones from the jack. Is there a setting/mod to prevent the phone from using to the headphone controller from track switching?
I've tried using different players, mx player, winamp, apollo, etc... they all eventually go berserk after 20-30 minutes of running.
Thanks!

Yeah, there's this epic mod called headphones, costs about $10, they don't have music controls on them, so your sweat won't affect the music .
Apart from that, a really basic music ap may not have coded the music controls in so, could try to find one on google play. :fingers-crossed:
Edit: Or could wrap duct tape or something around the controls stopping water/sweat getting in.

LOL, thanks for the mod idea, but I'm a bit of a fan of my headphone's audio quality... I will try looking for a more basic music app though.
thanks again for the tip!

BlueTooth controls in Music works in 2.1 ROMs

hi all...
i dont know if this was posted before...But I know there were many others like me that was looking for a way to fix this.
I am running DC 2.07.2 ROM...with Plantronics Stereo bluetooth headset:
I am running Meridian Player, and I can control the play back with the controls on my bluetooth headset.
Next song
previous song
pause
play
This might work on other music apps too!!
It does not work (bluetooth controls) with internet based music apps like: Pandora and TuneWiki.
before it would only control the HTC Music player. If I tried before while listening to music in any music player; it would start another playback in the HTC music app. I would be hearing 2 songs at one time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is great!!!
THanks to Damageless and his devs!!!
I am running Fresh 2.0d and I use Mixzing Lite connected by bluetooth to a JVC BT-1 headunit. In the past I would have the same problem where using the bluetooth controls would start a new instance of TC music and I would have two songs playing at once.
With Fresh 2.0d the bluetooth controls work with Mixzing with one catch. when I press skip it will skip two tracks. I'll here 1 second of the first track adn then the second will play all the way through. Now sure if it is a 2.1 issue, a JVC issue or a Mixzing issue. Not a big deal though. Just happy I can play and pause.
That's really good news for me. I had given up on ever being able to control a 3rd party music app. Thanks for posting this!

I use Phantronics Voyager and it only skips 1 song at a time.
You should download another music app and try that. I recommend Meridian Player

[Q] good/best EQ for music playback?

I regularly connect my phone(Incredible 2) to my car stereo via the AUX cable to play music. I've noticed when I compare an Ipod Touch to my phone, the sound quality isn't as good... even when using the Ipod w/ the EQ disabled it still blows away the I2.
I've tried using the program PowerAMP and no matter how I tweak the EQ on it the Ipod still blows it away. Does anyone know if there's a good stand-alone EQ app I should try or possibly a music player that's very good?
I hate having to do extra adjustments to my stereo just to have my phone's music player compete with my ipod.
The iPod will normally beat out any Android players. It's a sad truth . Hopefully things will get better. PowerAMP was the best thing I could find, and I guess its not satisfactory for you.
I don't think its in the market but maybe you can find the DSPmanager app somewhere?

TB for Music or stick to the iPod?

SO currently I use my ipod touch for music, and I also use itunes. However, I thought about using my TB as my music player, here are some questions:
1. How big of a pain is it to get music on
2. Rhapsody or iTunes (library is on itunes, never used rhapsody)?
3. Possibly my biggest question is quality. I have run Pandora on my TB and the quality is much lower than that of an iPod (understandable as its a radio frequency). However my point is, if I have to run songs on my TB at VOL 50 instead of VOL 40 in my car to adjust to the quality and get the bass up, then I am not sure the TB is the best music player. With that said, whats your experience with the quality?
I use my TB exclusively for music, thanks to Google Music. Haven't had an issue with quality with my Sennheisers, but YMMV.

Simple, Connect your phone to your PC, and copy the music you want to your SD card.

You don't have to use a certain program to sync, you can if you choose to, there are many out there, I don't sync my music so I can't help there.

I connect it via the 3.5mm jack to the aux in 3.5mm jack in my 09 jeep with a monster audio cable. Things sound great to me, especially using the SRS enhancement with the stock music player. Bass is nice, not crackly like you would get with an FM transmitter, I would honestly say it is at least CD quality. But all my music is ripped at a high VBR or 320kbps.
There are apps that will let you sync your iTunes library to your Android device, do some Googling.
If you are used to using your iPod for music then I don't think you are going to like the interface.
I miss having my iPod Touch but I refuses to carry separate device just for music.

All my music needs are fulfilled with slacker radios caching. It allows me to save 100's of songs on my phone and play them without needing a data connection. Bad part for some would be you can't pick what song to hear unless you have the higher paid account. For 4.99 a month I just cache my favorite stations for all my music needs.

Subsonic can do that also, think it's a one time $10 donation for unlimited use. Can stream pretty much any type of media on your computer.
Check out Audiogalaxy. It's a free app that streams your *entire* music library from your desktop/media server to your phone. If you are in a 4G area, it streams without compressing. I have an ipod classic but I rarely use it anymore. Streaming via AG is more convenient & sounds just as good.

If you are going to listen to your own music on the thunderbolt, i would strongly recommend buying power amp. That player will allow you to drive the actually good audio hardware to its limits, dropped my old mp3 player faster than a sack of rocks after i started using poweramp
Haven't used my iPod in forever... I use the following:
Slacker: When I want to stream and/or listen for new bands...
Subsonic/Google Music: When I want to listen to my personal music collection (which is too big to fit on any size device right now).
PowerAMP: For cahced music.
Now Google Music is not that great right now (Subsonic is better IMHO) because it is picky about some of the music I have and won't upload it. Subsonic turns your computer into the music server so you don't have to upload anything, you just have to asign your computer a static IP and keep it on.
I love PowerAMP for the quality of play so I will usually use Subsonic or GM to cache (or download) some songs and then play them with PowerAMP, since the Subsonic and GM players don't hold a candle to PowerAMP.

After reading the last couple comments, I downloaded the trial, listened to 2 songs, tweaked the EQ and settings, and listened again, and then bought the unlocker, this is an amazing music player.
Don't forget that the thunderbolt is compatible with DHS enhancements
Thanks a lot for the responses guys, I will try your suggestions and test it out!
The srs in the htc music app is amazing, especially with in ear headphones

Just installed full version of power amp, how should I transfer my itunes music to my phone? I dont know that I would like to keep using itunes, waiting for google music beta invitation so I can start using that
I use the ipod only because there is no good way to connect it with my car radio that doesn't leave a bunch of wires all over the place... I've emailed HTC about a bottom connector but they weren't to receptive to it.
Again I know I could do it with the phone, but having that bottom connector on the ipod allows me to have it in my car and hidden without a bunch of wires all over the place.
+1 for subsonic, donated to that project and use it all the time... everywhere!
I use iTunes as well and use the Thunderbolt for my music player.
iSyncr (and/or iSyncr WiFi) syncs itunes music including playlists so it is very easy to set up. Use Bluetooth in my car; not missing anything from when I used an iPhone/iPod. It even syncs playcounts if you have Last.FM scrobbling.

iSyncr is the way to go. It's what I use to get my music on the Bolt.
If you're not concerned about the battery, I wouldn't use your iPod anymore. PowerAmp does just fine as a music player.
I use Google Music and upload to the cloud

TB for Music...

So after some testing I really like using my Thunderbolt for Pandora, but not too sure about trading it out for my ipod...the ipod seems to give better output, as I have to crank it up to about 50 to match a volume level of 38-40 on my ipod. Even at that the vocals are struggling and the bass seems to drown it out a bit even with the bass turned all the way down. This may not be a TB issue but maybe a player issue (I use Poweramp Unlocked version). While Poweramp is nice its not exceptional. At this point I am not sure what to do as I would like to use Google Music instead of iTunes, but I am not sure if its ipod compatible or how big of a hassle is. I am hoping a really nice music player will come out soon...what do you guys think?
I was very unhappy with the default music player.
I would suggest getting doubleTwist, I find it to be waaaaay better than the default. And after you try out the free version, I would HIGHLY recommend getting the paid version with AirSync. It offers an iTunes like interface that can wirelessly (and pretty amazingly and bug free) sync music to your phone over your wifi network.

I was very very interested in this, and now that you mention it I will try it out. The reason I didn't try it was because of all the bad comments on it in the market, but those are always a bit hard to trust anyways, I will definitely give it a shot
I'm a music geek. I have to have all of my music in 320 mp3 or lossless. And I hqvent experienced low quality with poweramp and volume plus. Just make sure you have the eq off.

Give Google Music a try. It's spectacular! I uploaded 6,000+ songs from my iTunes library and now listen (with excellent quality) on my TB. Important note: I uploaded the songs from my Music folder not my iPod. I have not tried uploading from an iPod, although that is offered as an option in the Google Music Manager. Let us know how it works.

Tried google music but 225 of my songs weren't transferred for some DRM problem, even though they are all paid for music. It looks like I will be going back to my ipod. The sound quality is just no where near my ipod when it comes to car stereo. Still turning my music a good 15+ up than with my ipod. Also, for some reason after about 20 minutes of listening the music just suddenly gets quieter...this is a huge problem and I have no idea what it is

Audio Question - Duck or Pause

Hello everyone
I needed to know something about ducking or pusing music during notifications and map navigation with voice
Im using Jetaudio plus and it does not have the option to duck music instead of pausing it like rocket player does.
Even common, simpler and free audio players do this. They duck the music instead of pausing it.
Is there a workaround or app or something i can use?
Please help me
Ive posted this problem on both the free and paid versions of jetaudio for quite some time now, but it seems I am being ignored
Thanks
help me understand something.. what the heck is ducking? referring to ducking music..
Ducking is when youre hearing music and if u get a notification, the music volumes goes out of focus, it drops to a low value so that the notification sound or map navigation voice has the audio focus. But in no way, does the music pause. It then again comes back to focus after the notifcation or voice navigation is finished
was i clear ?
Anyone?
Bump
Hoping to find a solution
