Here's what's going on: I downloaded the Brit version awhile ago. Since then I can't use Keis, which isn't really a problem because I didn't use it anyway, but no upgrade there. I also can't seem to get the OTA process go work. When I go to Check Software it tries to register my tab and comes back with "Process unsuccessful". Samsung tells me I should wait until I get a "popup" but I'm not sure I will since I have the Brit version already. Call it patriotism but I would like the US version if I can get it. My wife's updated a month ago. Anyone have any insight on this? I assume all the updates have gone out and I'm not on the list.
You can flash the US version with odin or heimdall or mobile odin.

But you have to HAVE the version to flash it and I don't have it. Therein lies the problem, me thinks.

So my question is, is this update fine? Any issues in getting this updated or any problems faced by anyone?

U have to download a desktop installation file, connect your phone in charge mode, and then activate the service. Its quite a bit, but totally worth it.

Anyone know what this new firmware for i727 posted on www.sammobile.com is:
Mexico (Telcel) - I727UMLH2
It's the same ICS like for AT&T. And this ROM have network lock. So if you use unlocked Skyrocket hen better don't install it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
I'm sorry but that sounds unlikely. Can anyone else confirm that there's a network lock in UMLH2 firmware?
And if there is isn't it easy to bypass by skipping to install CSC?
i dont see how it could since the lock is in the efs and that package doesnt touch the efs. but that doesnt mean there isnt. ill test it later.

Interesting...
Deadlysin9 posted this...
That could be it. I got the server URL for the guy that did the S7 one by just going into /data/data/com.ws.dm (the data folder for our system update app, you'll have to find the package name of yours) and looking through all the files. From there it seems he looked at the desc.bin that it downloads to get the URL of the actual update package, but I don't know what he did after that to find the other files.
I believe this is an alternative possibility of getting the same result. Also it IS possible. Atnt got their software early by using this exact same method.

Yes I got that. Didn't mean it as you probably read my remark. I go to the oldest firmware as Odin doesn't let me flash any newer versions, I believe it's 4AP.... and when I do it from there it only updates me to APK1..... I just try and go back every so often to see ifor it'll work. Thought I'd repost my results thinking it be OK but I won't any more. Doesn't seem like anyone has been able to get this to work either. If some one has it would be nice to know if they were able to. I'll just wait for the update to go out from Samsung when they decide to release it.

Only have phone for a few days, no issues. Checking firmware versions available at Asus site, the one I have is not shown.
1906.5-0 is the one I have, no OTA updates available but too afraid to try newer versions available on the website.
Any other US version on this?
Shouldn't this be a normal WW version firmware wise?
Thanks
I'm on August security patch. That's most recently. Just updated after next day when I got the phone.

I'm genuinely loving it, the only "cons" I've found so far are the weight, the provided case being too slippery.
And the most stupid and funny was testing Cerberus when it takes a pic of you when you introduce a bad pin/pattern too much.
The cam raising and hiding by itself is very stealthy, lol.
