found "This update contains security fixes by Google and enhanced data connectivity." from the release notes here http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles...Staticfiles/RN_ATRIX2_MR1_MB865-IRDAsiaME.htm
So my question is, is this update fine? Any issues in getting this updated or any problems faced by anyone?
Do let me know, thanks in advance

I've a Asia Retail phone, and after updating I had major network/radio problems, phone just cold not detect three network. I've read everywhere that its mostly to do with Vodafone sim cards. M guessing yours is an Asia Retail phone n unrooted..
Read this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653098, first and then decide if you want to go through updating it.

U will have to flash baseband from 2.3.5 over new updated phone.......nd it has issues with vodafone cause they use 32k sim nd new update support only 64k sim which vodafone don't have....so if u use any other sim u will not face any issues anyways not long ago i posted a thread on baseband flashing u can search for "baseband issues" thread u will find answer there.

Download screenshot ux, it works on unrooted phones.
U have to download a desktop installation file, connect your phone in charge mode, and then activate the service. Its quite a bit, but totally worth it.

Definitely wouldn't at this time... I'm sure the partition sizes on the two devices are different, as was the case with the G2 and the Desire Z

I just flashed the P999 AP BIN on my O2X (P990) with SmartFlash for P990 .
Its looking really good. Stock Android 2.2.2 (Froyo) with T-Mobile bloat, but nothing we cant uninstall.
EDIT: It seems I cant connect to my Vodafone network. Everything else seems to be working.
EDIT2: Root is gone. See if Super One Click can bring it back...Yup got root back .

can someone explain how to flash the firmware using smartflash? I cant seem to get it working
Hmm, my phone only reads LG-P999-V10f in the Factory Version part of settings. There was a screenshot in an different thread of the Factory Version being LGP999AT-00-v10f-TMO-US-MAR-27-2011. Now this one is LGP999AT-01-V10f-310-260-MAR-27-2011+0.
Does that mean there is 3 different versions of the firmware out there? If so I wonder if any have the 850 Band for AT&T available to select?

It is thought that it may take a modified baseband to make them accessible (although one post in the general section sounded like he received a SIM unlock code from TMO and was told to activate it with an AT&T SIM in the device).
Related to that, the flashing of the G2x Firmware on the Ox2 probably screwed up the baseband on it,as they use different bands. Someone on the Ox2 Forum did the reverse - everything worked but the network connections also

I dont think the firmware is "available" as of yet, thats why. It says it's the latest but the phone isn't released yet. Developer or not shouldnt have ANYTHING to do with it.

WHEN the phone is released the update will go live. That is the latest version for the phone that IS YET TO BE RELEASED. Therefore, it is not LIVE as you say. Until you can show me it on your phone, means it isnt available...yet! I agree it is the latest software version for the phone.
Yeah, if it recognizes our dev phone as LG-P920 it should update it. If its carrier specific then that's a whole different story. If someone was able to update.through the Lg Update tool please let us know.

[Q] help i dont know if my phone bricked?

I bought a g2x from craigslist. its brand new but i guess that previous owner has done some update or something now it does not show any baseband version. So my Sim card which i changed to 4g version yesterday does not show any network. my old sim card did not show any network either.
this is what i see when i look at About Phone
Model # LG-P999
Android Version 2.2.2
Baseband Version : Unknown
Kernel Version : 2.6.32.9
Build Number : FRG83G
Software Version : LG-P999-V10f
I am coming from a vibrant with using bionix and not new to rooting or flashing rom. I did research a lot. But not sure if this is something that can be fix.
Please help.
thanks a lot in advance
Try the official update ota or via LG, other threads describe the process and that might get you the new baseband.

Ohhh, Yeah tried that already. But LG updater says device not supported for update. is there a way to flash the baseband ? I have a feeling that the previous owner flashed a o2x rom or something which changed the baseband. and then he ran the recovery to fix it.
Which model do you have? Check under the battery hood if it's Model 990 or 999. Perhaps it's wrong update for the phone.
Sorry I saw now you said it's 999. If there is no baseband you might have to return it to the Tmo...

Probably didn't flash an O2X rom as that would've changed the partition table and I don't think you can restore the G2X system back to it ... well at least without going to great lengths to fix the partitions.

Anyone know what this new firmware for i727 posted on www.sammobile.com is:

It's the same ICS like for AT&T. And this ROM have network lock. So if you use unlocked Skyrocket hen better don't install it.

I'm sorry but that sounds unlikely. Can anyone else confirm that there's a network lock in UMLH2 firmware?
And if there is isn't it easy to bypass by skipping to install CSC?
i dont see how it could since the lock is in the efs and that package doesnt touch the efs. but that doesnt mean there isnt. ill test it later.

Problem while checking for update

I am trying to check update but showing a message that "we are unable to update" (as showing in the screenshot). I am rooted but using the stock rom. can somebody explain and give some information regarding this issue ..?? :silly:
PS: I am using the phone in India so i'm using wifi to update.
Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you can't update over wifi. You need a data connection and I'm pretty sure it has to be a Verizon connection. There's a few other posts regarding this around here somewhere but I don't think a solution has ever been found other than to flash a rom that has the update in it.

If it's a Verizon version of the one (which is what this section is for) then you do indeed need to have a connection to Verizon's network to check for the update, yes it can be downloaded on WiFi but the initial check for an update must be done wit h a Verizon connection
