Hi,
I have a C10 SBK2 Transformer and I`m rooted it using UNLOCKROOT via usb.
I installed the ROM Manager and CWM in order to install the Android Revolution HD ROM, but everytime I reboot into recovery mode the tablet loads the ICS system and doesn`t load the CWM.
Does anybody know why it isn`t booting into recovery?
Thanks in advance
Not sure but if you have a terminal app try using reboot -r or whatever switch tells it to reboot to recovery.
Alternatively until you figure it out use rom toolbox app. There is a function to boot to recovery.
To me it sounds like you don't have permissions somewhere. The root method you did might not have worked.

Dont use ROM Manager. Theres an app on these forums simply called "recoveryInstaller". Thats what you should be using.

Hi to all,
I have a similar problem.
I've use unlockroot to gain root permission on my tablet. I used root check basic to check if I have gained root access and it said yes.
So I've installed ROM Manager from Google Play and installed clockworkmod recovery (before "standard", after "touch"). When I try to boot into recovery mode, I found an android opened with a red exclamation point on it.
So I have tried RevcoveryInstaller.apk, but when I execute this app, it return this error: "You are not rooted".
Any suggestion?

Dear Goatshocker,
Thank you fot the suggestion, but I had the sample issue theH4mmer had.
Dear theH4mmer,
I had the same problem as you had, that's because unlockroot didn't root our phone. Please download the vipermod tool to properly unlock your phone and install the CWM.
Hey,
I just did the 2.20 root method posted about a week ago, and I got to the white screen without a problem. I did the htc-dev stuff, and that worked too. I pressed Yes and unlocked my bootloader (or so I thought). I flashed TWRP recovery. However, I couldn't do anything else. My phone runs normally, but I checked and it is not rooted. I realize that the new 2.20 method is a temporary root, and I checked in its thread, and was pointed to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952426. That isn't for Mac, and I wasn't able to find any way to root a 2.20 HOX, install SU, install a ROM, etc.
I installed a rom and all that on my old phone, a Motorola Atrix, without too many problems, so I'm not completely illiterate. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

no, because i don't know how to do it. should i flash it using fastboot (while the phone is in white screen)? if so, what file do I flash? I got a SU zip, but I'm not sure what to do with it. But I can confirm that I've installed twrp correctly, because I can go to twrp from the white screen by using the volume up/volume down buttons and the power button and going to Recovery.
Thanks for your help

reboot in recovery/twrp. install your su.zip (don't know where you got your su.zip and what it contains whether it has both the su binaries and Superuser apk ). Reboot. if you don't have Superuser apk download it from the market (chainfire version). Voila.

Okay, a couple more questions. Where should I get the su zip? I googled it and found a directory of a bunch of different versions of SU, but it hadnt been updated since like July. Also, what command do I use to install the su.zip?
./fastboot.OSX flash recovery su.zip doesn't work. I'm just now realizing that I should download it to phone memory and install in recovery from there.

You flash the su.zip from inside twrp

1. you told me you had an su.zip !! anyway: http://downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/su-bin-3.1.1-arm-signed.zip
2. I said reboot in twrp/recovery (do not flash su.zip in fastboot) and hit the install menu, select the su.zip and swipe to flash
3. go back to main menu and hit reboot and then system
4. download SuperSu.apk from chainfire in the Market
5. open it, it'll probably ask you if you want to update the binaries, go ahead and do so.
You should be good to go.

Yeah, I had it, but I wasn't sure if I had the right one. I did and its all straight now. I was able to install su via twrp and everything worked. I now have root access. One last question (and I realize I've asked a lot of you guys, and I do really appreciate all your help), do I need to take any special steps or precautions when installing custom roms? On my atrix I just saved them to memory and then installed via cwm

I think it's much better if you install Superuser.apk rather than SuperSU.apk, you can find it here http://androidsu.com/superuser/
Download its files (superuser and su-binary) that appropriate to your device and then flash it via Recovery (CWM/TWRP).
im having the same problem, i will install superuser but how do i uninstall SuperSU ?
You must install supersu by recovery. Search for supersu on xda and download de latest version in zip version. Install it with e recovery and enjoy it.

Try to use the recovery method several times. It will probably work after some tries. Also, did you update superSU from the market? Do this first.
Try to install SuperUSER.zip via recovery.
It will root your phone and It will install Superuser apk.
I had the same issue and now, superuser works fine <3

SuperSU flashable zip can be found here.
Hi - I didn't have a problem finding the zip - that is easy. I don't know how to flash these things "via recovery" or whatever that means...
I found some guides which say how to flash zips through recovery CWM / TWRP, but as I dug deeper, these things require root to function properly, but that is the thing - I don't have the root, since I cannot update the SU binary library, see?
Also - when I tried to get to the recovery mode by pressing the buttons as it was stated in the guide, I got into some mode, but I got only an image of phone and cable connected to it, which was crossed by red lines. And no menu, nothing... it seemed, that the phone should be connected to the PC, but the guide didn't say anything about connecting phone to PC before entering recovery mode.
Could you help me solve this issue with binary thing from ground up?
Thanks

I have LG P880, not HTC phone...
Just how do I go about flashing it? It seems the only way to boot into recovery mode is to have root access which I don't have because Supersu needs an update. It's all a tiring cycle.
I've been having issues with all new root apps being auto-denied (namely goomanager) by superuser. I tried factory reset but unfortunately it kept root. SuperSU said I needed to update binary, but I have no idea how to do that, so I thought unrooting and re-rooting would be easier. Any advice?

Just follow the the instructions superuser gives to update the binary. That is what is causing your half root issues.

Alright, I rerooted with motochopper and updated using supersu, but goomanager still get "No recoveries were found for your device", even after I verified it had root access. Do I have to do the complicated method, or is there something else I can try?

Somehow GooManager doesn't seem to work on our tablets - don't know why but I read the same scenario more than twice: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524661
Use the fastboot method to install TWRP or the "MinimalADB fastboot Tool"
Yes goo manager has stopped support for installing twrp. I suspect too many people bricked as it can flash the wrong one. Only method now is fast boot from PC which is the best method.

So you want to install a custom ROM? Then you don't need to root first, you can start directly with installing TWRP via fastboot.

It is safe to downgrade to .8 but there is no need for it. You can root the .10 firmware with Towelroot v1 as _that mentioned earlier.
Download it from here, unzip the file and install the apk on your tablet, then run it.

If you are unlocked you can just flash the SuperUser.zip from the chainfire su on xda to root as well.

rom2sd1.zip has nothing to do with this... Why are you flashing it?
You flashed the Asus apps in recovery and went through the Aroma installer to select those you want?
Don't know if the installer gives you the option to save the installation log at the end. Look for it, flash again.
