Can you provide further details in regards to "modifications" you've made to your device?
Listing those could potentially offer some kind of lead as to what your issue might be.
download Klaxxon - this is very good alarm programme
same issue. had different qtec and htc phones so far and alarm doesn't work on any of them. means - it works but not always.
I have quessed that alarm is linked to the clock on the display and that is linked to system clock. sometimes the link doesn't work properly.
often happens that the clock in the middle of the screen and in the corner show different time, sometimes the difference is few hours. it goes away with next minute change but still funny. I think that the application that controls the clock and alarm is not working in highest priority compared to other apps running on background.
I highly recommend G-Alarm, the HTC alarms sucks!
When I first got my phone, I was late for work 3 days in a row! I quickly found out this was Windows phone issue.
G-Alarm hasn't let me down once.
I had the same problem once but I think I have answer. My alarm didn't sound when my battery was below 20%. When I charge the battery the alarm work great. Does someone have the same scenario?
Nope, mine doesnt work properly at any charge.
Sometimes it sounds, sometimes it doesn't.
I used to have Galarm, but the phone died. So I lost it. And Im not happy about forking out for it again....

To be honest I could not rely on the alarm when using a stock 1.66 ROM. Since using Artemis ROM I have not single issue with the alarm not working.
i had the same problem with the artemis rom, as well. i would try another third party application as suggested by others.
Since the JB update, the standard clock's alarm has stopped working properly. Prior to JB if an alarm was set and the tab was closed/charging the alarm would go off continuously and the tab would vibrate, I would unlock with my PIN and there would be a dialog up to either hit "dismiss" or "snooze".
Since JB, if the tab is locked (open or closed) it just beeps once very briefly (sounds like it is being "caught" and cut short), does not vibrate at all, and when I unlock and open it, there is a little notification on the notifications menu with the alarm info. If I click on that, it opens a dialog that says "dismiss" or "snooze". If the screen is not locked, it behaves exactly like it did above with no notification.
Anyone else see this or who could try reproducing it? I have not messed with any settings, when I look at them everything is like I would expect. I have never seen an alarm sent to the notification tray rather than sounding and this behavior strikes me as a bug.
Anyone have an alternate alarm clock they use with TF and JB?
You are not alone. I've deleted the clock cache, done a hard reboot and still the alarm only gives a brief "chirp" and is heard no more.
I had come to rely on the alarm in my travels as it has worked without fail whether on or in sleep mode- until the jelly bean update.

Thanks for the confirmation of the issue. At least I know someone else is seeing this and it is not some crazy setup issue. I am disappointed too. I've been using this in lieu of a real alarm clock while in a temporary living situation, so it's something I want to find a solution for...
Tested same thing, I dont use the feature but it is broke how you described it.

It's not a bug since it's working fine on by tablet. My clock version is 2.03 and default ringtone is celsium. Did you tried to wipe DATA and CACHE, then reboot? Did you freeze any system app? Could you try the same ringtone as mine?
It is a bug or an intended feature to save power. It only beeps correctly if the clock is on the screen, either bright or dim. If the screen is off as in sleep mode, then it beeps once only then stops.
My wife certainly noticed yesterday morning! Good thing that i had an alarm set also!
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda premium
Also confirmed the issue
I have the same exact problem
The day after the update I set it to wake me up the next morning and it didnt work either so now I leave it plugged in and the screen open in the dock and it works. I dont know what I did the first night but I almost didnt wake up. I also noticed if you put the volume all the way down to vibrate the alarm doesnt go off aswell but ICS work fine. All other sounds on silent but alarm still sounded off on ICS.

Me too. So, anyone let Asus know about this bug yet?
haha just found out this morning too. i had set the infinity alarm as my backup alarm because i just flashed a new rom on my phone. good thing the phone alarm still works. that could have been nasty
ya found this out the hard way this morning, when I was 45 minutes late for work.
is it due to the tablet going to sleep? I know in ICS i had the power settings set to never sleep if plugged in. cant find the equivalent 'if plugged in' settings. so for now I will test it if i set it just never sleep ever.
Here's a fix until Asus sort it out - keep the clock app open when you shut the tablet off. I think it's something to do with the alarm's Snooze/Dismiss notification. I'd keep a backup alarm set even using the fix, though - at least for a little bit.
I don't even have a TF700, but my fellow editor over at Pocketables does and wrote about this issue. I threw together a Tasker project that sort of fixes this, at least makes the alarm make some noise again. Exported it as a standalone app and he tells me it works. Details and download here if anyone would like to try it out: http://www.pocketables.com/2012/10/transformer-pad-infinity-temporary-alarm-fix-app-download.html
Details about what it does and disclaimer is in that post as well.
I have the same issue. Anyone here try working around this bug via another market alarm app? I'm at work at the moment so can't try -_-
Same problem here. I've stopped using it until this problem is resolved.

Feel free to try the fix I stated in the comment above, it does work.
I'm using Alarm Clock Extreme Free until this gets sorted out.
I tried flashing DeskClock.apk from several diff JB roms (stock/AOKP/CM10) but it keeps giving force close :\
Hi guys, I just flashed the JellyTime CM10 rom by BlindnDumb and I had the same problem as with the new one by Flinny. There are almost no bugs except when the alarm goes off there's no sound.
I see everyone on the Developers forum talking about sound fixes and speaker fixes but I can't seem to find them. Other than this issue there's no problem with it (almost) and I really can't go back to sense after trying Jelly bean.

I'm just downloading 15.0 now - ill give the alarm a try and see if it works. Last time I tried this rom I thought it was good enough for daily until I found the movie glitche's but i read they've been ironed out now.

I have no problem with youtube videos or local video playing, I don't even have to change dev settings.
All other sound works perfectly (notifications, ringtone, speaker in general) It's only the alarm.
And when I reboot the keyboard settings reset. (have to turn on smart keyboard)
[EDIT] It looks like 3rd party alarm apps don't work either for me.
Have you tried alarm volume complete down and than up again.

Oh man, why did that work? Great job, you made me feel like an idiot. Well thanks alot, I can now use this as my daily rom.
Thank you!
I don't know why it works, it is a known workaround of a known bug of cm10

Alarm & MMS not working
I have tried CM R15.0 as soon as it was released. Alarm and MMS (on 3G network) is not working. I see alarm is properly triggered but no sound. For MMS, I can send MMS while I am on wifi netowork but cannot on 3G mobile network. Other than these issues, I didn't find any problem so far.

is this a permanent workaround, or do I have to do it after everytime it decides to ring?

I may be having a separate issue then. I'm using alarm apps (doubletwist, alarmdroid) that plays a playlist of songs. Here's the problem, when the alarm is supposed to ring, it doesn't, the apps FCs, both of them. Magically, it works some days and not others. Been to work a few days late because of that.

I am running into the same issue on a Galaxy S2 Skyrocket. I have narrowed it down to Jellybean not liking me using my mp3 file (that I have used since eclair) as the alarm clock ringtone. It will use the defaults fine, but when I try to select my .mp3 file I get an "Activity Media Storage" isn't responding FC. This happens on multiple clock apps.
If you can'd find any solution you can try a third party specialized software like Alarmdroid

Anyone get problem with alarm not running?
I got notification that there is upcoming alarm but never started to ring.
This used to happen on my 6T, could never find out why. I just ended up freezing the stock Clock app and installed Google Clock, which worked.
Since I switched to the 7 Pro, I haven't had the issue.

Having the same issue with no volume on alarms. Did some searching this morning and did not have any luck.
Not sure I understand the concept of "Freezing" with the 1+7 pro. Can you explain in a little more detail?
Are there any known issues if I "disable" the stock clock app and use the Google Clock?
thanks in advance,
I use smart alarm free and works amazing

Yeah i was having the same problem, now using timely app and also samsung clock on my old note 5
I have been a long Google clock user. Used timely (for its ability to sync over multiple devices) for a while but I also found I like to keep some things simple. With simplicity in mind, I am trying to address the low alarm volume with the stock app and have been doing some work on the stock clock app. In settings, all the way at the bottom is the "increasing volume" toggle. When I disable this setting, my alarms behave normally. Meaning, when my alarm goes off at 06:00, it wakes me up, with the alarm I have selected. This operates the same with timers and anything else that uses the alarm volume (Interestingly, when BT is connected, the volume is still decreased but one problem at a time).
Are some of you willing to check and see if you have the same outcome?
thanks in advance.
I have 2 alarms that go off in the morning. The first one never rings but the second does.
Just got my phone yesterday, so I tried the stock clock. Turned volume up to Mac and went to sleep.
Didn't hear it, and I was late to work. I'm going back to Google clock as well.

Beyond using another clock app? Not sure. Its been posted to the 1+ community boards. Little action there though.
This is a really weird issue. On mine only the first alarm wouldn't ring, then none. I installed the Google Alarm and it would sound for the second alarm but today didn't at all.
I wonder if it's something to do with hibernation?

Interesting thought. If you go into battery optimization the stock clock app is not even listed. I switched Google Clock over to "Don't optimize." might as well give it a try.
I'll report back in a couple days,
Cheers
Updated last week. Now no alarm/countdown app (apart from the built in one) will give any sound?
All permissions and notifications are set on and power saving is set to no restrictions.
I've installed 5 different alarm app and none of them will trigger a sound or even get the phone to vibrate!
They all look as if they should be working, the display is flashing but that's as far as they get.
I've restarted the phone many, many times. That doesn't change anything.
I'm guessing that it's an OS bug, but can anyone suggest a workaround that might help?

Alarm sound is on and works with the built in clock/alarm but no third party app will make a sound or even vibrate!
There's a thread on Reddit from people with the same problem, so it would seem to be an issue linked to the Miui 12 update so I guess we have to wait for an update on the update!!

Thank you for trying that.
I don't know why, but the 'Clock' app you've tried works on my Mix 3... None of the others I've tried do and I've just retried them all! I can not explain how or why that's the case???
