Does anyone pair with one of the newer cars that can also import text messages? I ask because after flashing Blur_Version.55.13.25.MB865.ATT.en.US.zip my car keeps giving me a "Text import failed" message. I got this a couple of times when I was on stock GB but overall it worked.
I've tried deleting and re-pairing the phone with the car but no luck. Is there a workaround? Or at least a way to disable the text import but still pair the phone for incoming voice calls?

I would like to setup some contacts so they have a different ringtone when they call and a different alert sound when they send a text message. I am using a Titan (VZ 6800) with WM6.1 with the DCD Rom. Any idea how I can do this?
Thanks!
Go into "Contacts".
Go into (edit) the contact person of the person, one of the field is Ringtone, just select whatever ringtone you want.
You can do this one by one for all the contacts.
any way I can do this for text messages too?

My text messages only display phone # of the sender but doesn't display their name in my contacts. The names would display fine when receiving calls.. Please help.
I've tried editing the registry HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch to "7, 8, 10, 11, 12" but nothing works. Any suggestions???
has this been happening for a long time? my phone sometimes do that when I do a reset and it screwed up and forgets to ID the txts. give it some time. it might work out.
It happens every time I flash a new ROM. I used spbbackup to save PIM contacts. Maybe spbbackup contact format is not compatible with the ROM's contacts. The weird thing is some of the names in contacts display just fine.
Do not use spb backup. It'll screw up your contacts. Problem solved after using Pimbackup and spritebackup.
I am new user of Samsung Captivate and this is my first android phone.
I have set up my phone to snych with exchange and gmail which works as expected. The problem I am facing is phone "speaks" my appointment. As I recall this started happening after I tried google navigation which forced me to download text to speech package.
I would rather keep my appointments private than announce it to the world. Is there a way to achieve this?
I have tried checking the driving mode check box under text to speech. Does not help. Phone still speaks my appointments.
I have tried everything from a hard reset to clearing cache to a factory reset, but I cannot seem to figure out why I'm not consistently receiving text messages from one specific sender. In my Verizon online account, it clearly states that this person has sent me a text and that I have received it, but it is nowhere to be found on my phone. This happens regularly, but not consistently.
I have called Verizon, who couldn't figure it out. I switched my phone and SIM, but to no avail. Where is this text message and how do I get it?
Perhaps the other party was able to delete the message before you actually saw it.
RAZR HD
Eclipse V 1.3
That is definitely not the problem. I consistently have issues with this number and text messages. Verizon logs the message as coming in, but my phone never receives it.
Can anyone help?
I have this issue that is driving me crazy. When I'm in the car (Vauxhall Astra with Intellilink 900 infotainment system) and connected to it by bluetooth, it goes crazy when a text message arrives. It starts to show notifications for historic text messages. It asks me if I want to listen or dismiss the message. If I choose listen, nothing happens except dismissing that message and moving onto another one. I have to dismiss about 30-40 text messages every time! Once I've dismissed all of the messages the system appears normal except it will not report new SMS text messages. This did not happen with my Galaxy S7 Edge.
Anyone else experienced anything similar?
I have similar issues with my Ford Focus where it will constantly alert me to new (old) messages. The November Pixel security update was supposed to have addressed that issue, but I'm still experiencing it. On my phone, I ended up going to Bluetooth Settings, selecting my phone, and turning off the "messages" profile.

I've got the same issue with my Ford EcoSport. I thought it was the crappy Ford Sync, now i know better.
Looks like it's a Pixel issue then. I've tried using different SMS apps on the phone but it makes no difference.
Same issue here with a 2016 Chevy Silverado. I went into the settings in the radio and disabled message notifications to prevent this from happening until the root cause can be resolved.
