Hey
To turn it off I have to push the button, chose to turn off and finally I've to confirm it. That takes about 1min. I hate it. Is there like an application button I can just push and it will turn off?
Bye
Maybe try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwyLDEsInR1cm4ub2ZmLnRoZS5saWdodHMiXQ..
If your rooted, I recommend...
QUICK SHUTDOWN:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grrmode.quickshutdown
This is what i use regularly. It shuts down within a second or two.

If you are rooted in the app store they have a lot of apps look for reboot shutdown widgets.
Yes Im rooted.
The app you suggested doesnt work for a lot of people me included
There are a lot of apps for putting the tablet in sleep mode or to turn of the screen. I want the tablet to shutdown with 1 click.

It really takes you 1 minute to shut down? I have a little more than 2 pages (app drawer pages) of apps installed, and mine shuts down in 5 seconds after I press OK.

Well that's strange its working fine on my end and its not like you have a different device then I. The app does what your looking for. It doesn't shut off the screen, it turns the tablet off with just one click. If you mean by many from the reviews its all coming from different devices. Are you granting it permission when it pops up?
Can someone else who is rooted install Quick Shutdown for me please and let me know if its working.

Roger, my pleasure. I like apps like these for I do fear that my children's needs will preclude any device upgrade for a while, so I don't want to exhaust the power button ; ) Just kidding -- well, at least about the button part :S -- I hardly ever shut down the device.
I tested Quick Shutdown, however, and indeed it first asks for root permission; after granting that, shutdown is pretty much instant. I'm on CM10 Unofficial (and therefore, by implication, rooted and unlocked).
Thanks for the heads up, jjdevega -- I'll keep it on the 700 for when I'm lazy.
Why install another app? Open a superuser terminal and type poweroff.
Takes <3 seconds from the time I open terminal until powered down.

Nice. You could automate it with ScriptManager and then use its widget feature to roll your own button.

Custom roms are awesome, but Honeycomb requires more time to boot depending on how many applications you have installed. A fresh flash is ready in 30 seconds, with just a couple hundred apps it takes two minutes and some seconds.

+1 for this - I've been looking for something like this since I bought my original TF101. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find anything (I did try, believe me).
I know it can be done, because the Jump Desktop app disables the tap-to-click feature. I even went as far as asking the Jump Desktop people to write/sell an app that does just that (but everywhere in Android) - however, they were not interested...
Anyone have any ideas?? It would be nice to leave the trackpad enabled at times instead of having to constantly disable/re-enable it (yes, I know there is a dedicated key for that on the keyboard dock).

The solution for the prime was a custom kernel that disabled it, but that required having a custom recovery. Seems like we have to wait a bit. Still searching though!

Try charging the battery, could be something kept your phone awake until a full drain and now it doesn't have enough juice to boot up.

1) Try a different charger and cord.
2) Take your battery and have it tested to make sure its good.
3) Wiggle the USB connection to see if there's any looseness. It should be solid.

Well I let it charge for a few hours. But the problem starts when i put in the battery it will boot to the second samsung logo and then a little white line flashes across the bottom and it shuts off and starts vibrating. Idk if i can get into download mode im on vacation and only have my tab and my phone.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
If you get to the second logo you should be able to get to recovery, see if you can get there and let it stand for a bit and if it wont crash.
Charging solved the issue at first and you managed to boot up or just got past the first samsung logo?
If after the second logo it restarts and does it all over again its definitely a stuck power button.

It's a really weird issue, if the line was in the middle I would say it's the crt off animation but you said it's at the bottom. If you can try getting into download mode and see if it hangs.
Any chance you can get a video of the issue and upload it?
Just in case try playing with you power key to make sure it's no the issue.

I just shut down my phone and held the power button, it gets to the second samsung logo, crt off animation and starts vibrating. So it's definitely a stuck power button, the rest is up to you, whether you play with it from the outside or take apart the device and try to clean it.
Edit: when you see this you should change your youtube title to: skyrocket stuck power button
So other people with this issue can find it.
Also vincom when you see this you should link this video in the proper location for an example to a sticky power key.
theres a couple of links in the info section from my first link in my sig which might have a solution for the op, and it does look like its definite sticky power button issue since the phone turns on by itself w/out touching the power button when reinserting the battery, and i added the video link

No, but OTA root keeper got it back. First thing I noticed was that the HDMI output options are gone. Not "reduced" but completely gone. Freaking awesome. I actually used those.

Man, that is some enthusiasim right there! I just stumbled upon a workaround. If you reboot the device while HDMI is connected, the system will start in stretched mode. Just DO NOT navigate to the HDMI options menu on the settings screen and it will stay stretched. The moment you go look for HTMI options it switches to cropped and the only way back is another reboot.
I knew about the work around, but yes, it really is that critical, i just showed 50 users how to use it after the update have us those new menu options!

Ouch, that is gonna leave a mark then. I actually wasn't sure about the workaround... I've noticed various system settings that seem to "change" after a reboot such as performance mode and screen saver settings. Wasn't sure if this would stick with the new update or not. Also don't know how consistent it is.
Personally I'd love to see the options come back with a change to the stretched behavior. When displaying the entire screen to HDMI out there is absolutely NO reason for the Android status bar to be twice the normal height. Wasted freaking space.
I read somewhere that the option shows up only when you're connected to an HDMI source .. perhaps have it connected, then go into settings and look below ASUS customized setting ?
Ah here -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32932493&postcount=72
It will show up between "ASUS customized settings" and "Power Saver" when you have an external display connected.

Got it back with OTARootKeeper. My first impressions are:
mediaserver is still crashing when the camera is supposed to render video off screen
system bar lock got an extra option: show system information (or at least I can't remember seeing in there before)
detailed release notes from ASUS on what was fixed/changed would be nice
I am rooted on stock and after ota didn't lose my root, was just there as before

I don't think using the word RAPE earns you much respect.
Oh and it's a tablet not a phone.
I use screen off fx for powering down, gives a virtual powerbutton on your screen with some nice off-effects, and its free! That halves use of powerbutton.
