Cant a person simply shut it off?
The awesome ROMS available make the TF boot up in a very short time...
So I vote turn it off.

Custom roms are awesome, but Honeycomb requires more time to boot depending on how many applications you have installed. A fresh flash is ready in 30 seconds, with just a couple hundred apps it takes two minutes and some seconds.

[Q] Cannot Shut Down Goes Straight to Recovery Screen

I rooted my phone and am using the Leedroid rom. I tried to shut it down and can't seem to get it to stay off. It shuts off and then about 5 seconds later the CW Recovery screen pops up. Any ideas?
Thanks

I'll bet it's plugged in isn't it? It's a cwm bug or something. Unplug it and it will shut off.

I agree. Just sharing what I know of the issue.
Yeah but that's the whole idea. I want to shut it down and charge it. It shatges quicker that way. I did unplug it and it worked likeyou said. Defeats the purpose though. Haha

I don't think there is a solution, I'm pretty sure this is just a problem with the recovery. I'm not sure if koush could fix it or not. It might just be one of those things where if you want clockwork recovery, you gotta live with the bug. I'll take clockwork.

I have the same issue... Phone will boot right back up after I shut it off and its not even plugged in... Does yours do it too or is it just me? Fast boot is off too.

Mine only does it when the phone it plugged in. It stays off when it isn't
I also have this problem. I usually turn off my phone before bed time.
Rooted a few days ago, and this issue sucks. Will clockwork ever get fixed to solve this problem?

Power Save app and Timer & Clock widgets

There is a link to download: http://www.xperiablog.net/
just extract the rar and install each apk.
thanzzzzz for share
Power save app from Xperia Ray is easiest way to turn on/of power save mode.
The timer would be a good app if it alerted you at the end of the countdown
Uninstalled! Clock...Uninstalled! Gonna try the powersave app tonite and see how that works out.
i can't get into the link...can somebody post a direct link to the file please..
nvm..i got it already from here

Well I gave the powersave app a go last nite and its really nothing different than what ive been doing, but it does it all in one shot so im keeping it.
It turns off background data/wifi/animations/gps/bluetooth as well as turns brightness down to 0. I would normally do all that stuff manually (except for animations, which ive always left on) and my battery life is excellent! 2 days on a single charge easy, 3 days once.

How so? I tried it two ways, once with the screen not locked....all it did was flash the start/stop button green, didn't make any audible sound.
Once with the screen locked, it didn't even turn the screen on, make a sound, nothing.

Does this actually help my phone?

Has anyone tried Fast Reboot pro? I have it automatically perform a fast reboot everytime I unlock the screen, but I'm not sure if it actually does any good for my phone. Anyone that's used it before, would you mind letting me know what you think of it, thanks?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
It's prob just sucking your battery dry.
Set it to do a reboot each night or something, but not when you unlock the phone!!!
It's turning a simple act of turning the phones screen on, to restarting all startup apps on the phone, not gonna be helpful.

Yeah, just use it once in a while when you phone has been running for a long time.
I use it to... But its not a task killer it just restarts apps as if it was just booted.
Like above advice just use it once in a while and make sure you check important apps in white list ir manage list under settings to prevent it to restart the launcher etc.

[Q] How To... Fast Turn off?

Hey
To turn it off I have to push the button, chose to turn off and finally I've to confirm it. That takes about 1min. I hate it. Is there like an application button I can just push and it will turn off?
Bye
Maybe try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwyLDEsInR1cm4ub2ZmLnRoZS5saWdodHMiXQ..
If your rooted, I recommend...
QUICK SHUTDOWN:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grrmode.quickshutdown
This is what i use regularly. It shuts down within a second or two.

If you are rooted in the app store they have a lot of apps look for reboot shutdown widgets.
Yes Im rooted.
The app you suggested doesnt work for a lot of people me included
There are a lot of apps for putting the tablet in sleep mode or to turn of the screen. I want the tablet to shutdown with 1 click.

It really takes you 1 minute to shut down? I have a little more than 2 pages (app drawer pages) of apps installed, and mine shuts down in 5 seconds after I press OK.

Well that's strange its working fine on my end and its not like you have a different device then I. The app does what your looking for. It doesn't shut off the screen, it turns the tablet off with just one click. If you mean by many from the reviews its all coming from different devices. Are you granting it permission when it pops up?
Can someone else who is rooted install Quick Shutdown for me please and let me know if its working.

Roger, my pleasure. I like apps like these for I do fear that my children's needs will preclude any device upgrade for a while, so I don't want to exhaust the power button ; ) Just kidding -- well, at least about the button part :S -- I hardly ever shut down the device.
I tested Quick Shutdown, however, and indeed it first asks for root permission; after granting that, shutdown is pretty much instant. I'm on CM10 Unofficial (and therefore, by implication, rooted and unlocked).
Thanks for the heads up, jjdevega -- I'll keep it on the 700 for when I'm lazy.
Why install another app? Open a superuser terminal and type poweroff.
Takes <3 seconds from the time I open terminal until powered down.

Nice. You could automate it with ScriptManager and then use its widget feature to roll your own button.

App/mod to make phone appear off?

Anyone know of an app or mod to make my phone appear off without turning it off? Perhaps a toggle that requires you to press home and power to wake the phone? My phone has to be off at work and they check it.
There might be but is it really worth it? Sounds pretty strict, I doubt they would be happy about that. Good luck I guess.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yes, worth it. You don't understand my job. My phone is aloud to be on most of the time, just not during certain tasks.
If its supposed to be off, and you don't wanna lose your job, why not just turn it off when you're supposed to?

Basically, we're all saying there's nothing we can do. And honestly your responses to all answers on this thread are rather immature. Makes people not really wanna help in the future. Just might wanna keep that in mind for any future issues you may face with your device.

There isn't any app or mod for something that is already in the phone. All you have to do is set your phone to silent/vibrate and press the power button to put it in deep sleep mode. Also press the power button again to wake the phone. To keep from getting text at work just turn off your data. Also what the hell is with you telling me to shut the f##k up when you are asking for an app or mod for a function that comes standard in ALL cellphones. Hell a toddler can figure that out.

but he also wants to have it be a combo to pull it out of sleep mode like screen off unless you hold power and vol up then push home button.
As far as i know there is no way to do this only ways to add more ways to wake it.
My other thought is how brain dead are the people checking your phone while your in a no cell zone... (Which they either do for good reason or they do just cause they don't want to deal with it.)

OR a drop box before you enter the area...
