So my friend has a lg lucid and he's only getting 3 hours of battery life. He's had the phone for probably less than a month so is there a bigger battery that will fit it?

Not sure about that phone. But that isn't normal for any phone in regular use. I could see 3 hours if he is playing games constantly and watching videos on you tube like crazy maybe. But if he got it new and uses it normally he might want to take it back and have them check that.

So the gpu in my old laptop got fried after way too much skyrim and it got me wondering if the same would happen to my sgs1 and how long it would take. I don't play on it for more than a few minutes per week so I guess itll be a while at least.

Any other charge owners going to the bbq this year? I went last year and will be attending again this year. Most met some really cool people last year and had a blast. Maybe I can party with some of you other charge owners at the bar crawl

Dallas area. They stopped selling tickets a few days ago. It goes from this afternoon until Sunday evening. Catch it next year, it's worth it to meet the devs and see some cool new tech from companies. Lots of swag too.

Just curious. At the BBQ, is that a get away from work for the devs, or they actually exchange super secret Intel and do some dev work on the spot?

It's more like a meeting for like minded people. Cyanogen mod has a keynote, other people speak, and it's a lot of fun. Some people probably do some work when they are there (there is going to be 1000ish people this year, chances are someone out of them does).

What's your point? Most phones last way shorter than that. Be lucky that it lasted that long! Unless you have a maxx or somethine, this is really good battery life.
If you're not satisfied with the battery life order an extended battery, I just got my Anker 4400mah battery today and so far I'm loving it! The extra bulk actually makes it easier to hold and use the phone.

I had a maxx so maybe I'm used to that. My last phone was a razr hd. Here is right now with 18 min.screen time. While sending this it has dropped to 68. If this is normal let me know. I may have to go back to razr hd. I'm on stock but thinking about cyanogen.

What's your screen brightness level? You can't have it at 60-100% plus all the crap I see is running and expect out of this world battery life. A ROM change isn't going to help you there.
EDIT: Look at your awake time compared to your screen on time, whatever all those apps you have running are, they're eating up your battery, check mine out below. You really need to stop a lot of that stuff from running all the time, your battery life will increase exponentially.

Something is draining your battery, like mentioned maybe rogue app, like wolf put it best.try rescan media, it'll help.I have a 2200mah anker battery.vs stock.I run plenty of apps no power saver options on.
Also no I don't do bump charging, this is off one straight charge

All that red in your signal line really kills the battery too. The phone is constantly pinging looking for a signal that but can't find. At least is my non-technical understanding.
A new radio may help. Or putting the phone in airplane mode when you are in a bad area

Why did you charge so many times? Running the battery down most of the way then fully charging tends to keep your batteries stronger longer.

Hey guys I'm lost on a few things. I know that HTC is coming out with a smart watch by Christmas but I was wondering if anyone knows of any that will work with our phones via bluetooth, wifi, nfc, I don't care. I do want to be able to watch movies on it though (yes my vision is that good) all I can find is a bunch of maybes and they all say 3g hence the bluetooth, pairing. Do I even need a sim card if I'm not planning on using it as a standalone phone? Even the forum here on XDA is a lot of arguing and speculation. I need help, for some reason I want to watch movies on my phone and I also want notifications and blah blah. Anyone know anything about something like this or am I dreaming? Thanks guys.

Not sure I'm understanding your question but the Sony Smartwatch 2 works perfectly with my HTC One and has quite a bit of functionality and apps.

Just wait till the Moto 360 comes out. And once the iwatch comes out all smartwatches will really step up their game.
The Moto ACTV can run a full android OS. look into that, maybe. gotta be comfortable with some non-idiotproof rooting though. there's not a huge following for it so the method is there, but only for the seriously committed.
I love my Sony smart watch 2
