Disabling phone while using nav? - Thunderbolt General

Is it possible to disable the phone while using navigation? Right when I'm in a critical place to follow directions if the phone were to ring in it would be very distracting.

Trying to install the leaked apk on a leaked ICS room (the newest leak). It won't let me install it. Have any one else tried? Have install from unknown sources enabled.

I had to use root explorer and push it in the system/app folder. If you have the vlingo.apk you need to rename it to vlingo.apk.old, put the new apk in that folder, set the permissions and restart. It'll load but as soon as it tries to reply to your request it will probably force close.
Edit: after doing those steps go back into the system/app folder with root explorer and install the apk like a normal app. After that its been working great!

Can't get mine to talk back. Follows commands but no voice response. Will play around with moving files.

Try this.
Downloaded the apk and installed like usual. Works great, only thing that I can't do is change the wake up word. The phone crashes.

Tried this link, installed fine, and acts like it is working good. Except after I do a voice command, it won't take another until I exit app and come back in.
Hope i'm not breaking any forum rules by posting this suggestion. You might want to try the app AVX on the market. It is a great voice command program. Took me about a week or so to get it working the way I want but love it now. You can also change the wake up phrase.
This doesn't work well. Extremely slow, laggy and voice recognition 90% of the time can't recognize the command. is this working better for anyone using a skyrocket?

Got it to work using Root Explorer and the system/app folder method, thanks. It force crashes when I try to set up my "Wake up command". Other than that, it seems pretty functional, alibet laggy.
Do we need ICS?

Agreed. Cant stand it. Seems like Siri is the one and only thing Apple has over Droid. Although, i still would not trade a box full of iPhone 4S's for my Skyrocket. (No, this is not a troll post. I hate Apple with a burning passion.) I just wish we could get something comparable to Siri. I'll patiently wait.

Interesting that they don't use the navigation voice. After recent (last 2 months) update to maps and navigation Google included an upgrade voice to navigation.

How to turn on voicemail notification

I am using Unnamed-Mar-22-2012 and love it but, I can't figure out how to turn on voicemail notification. Can anyone help me out?
Install tmo visual voicemails from the author store

What is that?

Everytime I download something from the internet this popup bar shows up in my notifications...what is the untitled data bar and how do i get rid of it? So far ive found i can only remove it by restarting the phone but its rather a hassle.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
That's the download progress bar, it's normal. What's not normal though is that you have to restart to get rid of it. Are you on a custom ROM?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
No I'm 100% stock. What's weird is that it will show that then out of no where the thing I wanted to download will be completed but that grey download bar won't go away.

You can use titanium to back everything up and restore it after the wipe.

Try clearing data for your browsers, market, or anything that brings about one of those bars to begin with. not sure if you can do anything with the "downloads" app, but give that a look too.
On a side note, if you have a question, ask it in the title of the post instead of putting something completely unhelpful to anyone trying to get a summary of the thread.
I'll clear the cache in all those things and see of it fixes my problem.

It sounds like the Inet app is wonky. I'm assuming you are using the HTC Internet app? Have you ever seen it behave normally? Does this bar progress like normal but just says "Untitled - data"? You should see a green bar go from the left side of that notification to the right.
Next time you see it, go to your System | Apps menu and look at the running apps tab. See if your browser is running and Force Close it to see if it goes away.
I'm using dolphin browser HD. And thanks for all the help guys!

Yup! You guys are awesome. I cleared the cache in dolphin browser, force stopped downloads, and cleared the cache/force stopped download manager and the problem went away! Thanks again to those who helped.

Voice used for speech

Is there a way to change the tablet's voice? I use the British Victoria voice from SVOX on my phone. Would like that here too but the option to change speech engine is missing.

I forgot to add that it's under text-to-speech output(settings-language and input-text to speech output). The Svox engine is located there to select, I just double checked it to make sure.

Successful dpi change

Followed the instructions in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=63737472
I'm still having issues with the 2nd screen during calls, but worth it to have more real estate. My dpi is set to 480, only through Nova. I haven't tried any other launchers or apps. Thanks to @Raztrax
Sent from my LG-H901 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
Which issues are you having with the second screen? I haven't made a call since I did the change. I just made a test call to see if the pop up was a way around the FC.
Still FC. I changed it to pop up like you suggested, no luck.
Sent from my LG-H901 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
I just tried it and got it. I don't know why it didn't happen this morning. I think it was because I was in an app or something.
I just shut the second screen off when the main screen is on. Stops the annoying fc pop-up during calls.
Sent from my LG-H901 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
Does this method let you change DPI for individual applications, like Xposed App Settings does?
I'm using app settings through xposed.
