Everytime I download something from the internet this popup bar shows up in my notifications...what is the untitled data bar and how do i get rid of it? So far ive found i can only remove it by restarting the phone but its rather a hassle.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
That's the download progress bar, it's normal. What's not normal though is that you have to restart to get rid of it. Are you on a custom ROM?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
No I'm 100% stock. What's weird is that it will show that then out of no where the thing I wanted to download will be completed but that grey download bar won't go away.

You can use titanium to back everything up and restore it after the wipe.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Try clearing data for your browsers, market, or anything that brings about one of those bars to begin with. not sure if you can do anything with the "downloads" app, but give that a look too.
On a side note, if you have a question, ask it in the title of the post instead of putting something completely unhelpful to anyone trying to get a summary of the thread.
I'll clear the cache in all those things and see of it fixes my problem.

It sounds like the Inet app is wonky. I'm assuming you are using the HTC Internet app? Have you ever seen it behave normally? Does this bar progress like normal but just says "Untitled - data"? You should see a green bar go from the left side of that notification to the right.
Next time you see it, go to your System | Apps menu and look at the running apps tab. See if your browser is running and Force Close it to see if it goes away.
I'm using dolphin browser HD. And thanks for all the help guys!

If yes, how did you do it?
Yup! You guys are awesome. I cleared the cache in dolphin browser, force stopped downloads, and cleared the cache/force stopped download manager and the problem went away! Thanks again to those who helped.

Hey everybody,
Just wanted to bring your attention to an awesome app for all you freshly rooted One X users.
The app is called "Live Logcat" by Chainfire and its function is extremely unique. Instead of a boring HTC splash screen and some tiny colored bubbles when you turn your phone on, you'll be greeted with a peek into the complex coding that is your boot process. Not sure what I mean? Well with this app you'll have a realtime view of what your phone is doing as you start it up.
This app is a treat! Load it up once and hit install, then reboot and watch the magic. You can also add in Chainfire's similar app "Live Dmesg" which adds the functionality of seeing what the hardware is doing at boot up too. You can configure what you want the view to look like in the app, and remove copyright information with the awesome (and cheap) pro version.
I've used this app on my previous HTC phones and I was heartbroken when it didn't work on my G2x. Now with the One X my best purchase is now useful again, and it's still got the gusto.
All rooted users can hit up this link to go to the play store. You will see the mentioned apps on this page. I am in no way affiliated or reimbursed by Chainfire, he is just an awesome dev who happens to make the most unique and useful apps.
Enjoy

Rebooted to a black screen with capacitive buttons for a minute, after about 2 minutes I got the HTC splash screen and it seemed like it was bootlooping so as soon as I hit the power button to get into recovery I saw the logcat come up. So I waited for that to finish (which took forever, 2 minutes at least) when it finally booted up my phone app fc'd constantly. I'm sure it was one of many tweaks I've applied that was conflicting.
Does this shorten boot up times for you? If so I'll probably give it another go.

Doesn't seem to work on the Asus Transformer Prime (TF201). I simply don't get any output during booting... it does boot up btw, you just don't see anything (just a black screen).
Cool idea though
Does anyone have the apk for this help is greatly appreciated.. this is the clock that appears when docked

Quick shortcut maker.
Right now my phone is lagging incredibly bad and happens every so occasion. It feels like my ram is getting full very often. Any tips minus restarting occasionally which I do?

I agree, minor, frustrating but annoying too. Haha. My pm box has been useless today for a few hours. In the last few days it's been hit or miss. Plus content takes forever to load sometimes, even the latest posts when you open the app.

I get a problem with the app where if I click the next page button it sometimes takes 30 seconds to register. Only been getting that for the last month or so.

Xda app has always had some minor glitches ever since I used it. I found that they mostly pop up after restoring apps on a new ROM. So what I do is just uninstall it and reinstall fresh and everything works good again, mostly.

See I guessed the same thing and it still doesn't work for me. I nailed down too that one specific message in my PM box will FC the app. Weird. I had to go on my laptop to check and delete it. Online works perfect but the app has just been strange lately. At least for the most part the forum loads and I don't get FC issues but issues still persist.
I'm enjoying this community here so much I check often, sucks when the app is malfunctioning.
Now that you mention PM box, reminded me that mine fcs leaving it.:-\

For those having issues accessing their pm box, what I usually do is go to my profile the my posts and then click on a post (any). Then back out then got to pm box. Usually works. I know it's ridiculous to have to that but it's a work around. It may not work for everyone but I hardly ever have force closes that way. Just fyi.
