first off i have the HTC wildfire and i put gingerbread onto it, and as soon as i got it on everything worked except that google play wasn't there so i downloaded the .apk of the web but when i click of the app, it opens but it comes up with a box saying
"you must add an account to the device to continue. do you want to add one now?"
and no matter what i click on whether it is yes or no, the application just closes.
any ideas as to what i could do
have you tried deleting data and cache of the play store app? maybe that's all you need to do. afaik there's also another system app that's connected to the play store and which could help if you delete data and cache of it.

Something like this happened to my N7. What I did to fix the problem was go into Settings > Accounts & Sync: Then remove your account, (1*) reboot, then add your Google account with the Accounts & Sync Page.
1*
It might be worth it to wipe the Google play data after you remove your account.
Also, I think that raShMan777 was referring to both Google Play Services, and Google Services Framework. You should try and wipe there data as well.

yes, that's what i meant.
What gapps baked into the rom that you installed? Make sure that you have the right version. If all else fails, download and reflash gapps before you wipe and reflash the entire rom.

If I run installing gapps?
Hello,
I am looking for some asisstance - and in a hurry because i am trying to get my tablet updated before i leave on a flight tomorrow and this is driving me insane.
I have a p5113 with CM10.1 installed on my tablet. (for p5110). I cannot download anything from the google play store -- can't update apps, nothing. I have tried reinstalling two different roms to see if that was the issue, I've cleared the data from the google service framework, google play store, google play services, downloads, download manager and then rebooting. I've tried two different networks.
I can download other .apks normal, and I can use my browser just fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Would going back to stock even help? I tried going to stable releases, but that didn't work either.
Go to settings, remove google account. Then Try wiping the data for google play services and google play again. Then reboot to recovery. Wipe cache and dalvik cache. Reboot and see if it works. Btw when you flshed your gapps did you verify the md5 first?

I had not checked the md5, but i just did and all is well with the md5. (never knew how! learn something new everyday ) I'm trying things in that order that you listed again. I think I did, but I may have missed a step.

it did go through a different screen that said 'android is upgrading', and it was updating 86 apps, but to no avail, nothing had changed. i checked the md5's for both files (the cm file and the gapps file) and everything checked out fine.
would a restore do anything?
I think I may have pinpointed the issue.
So my phone updates fine on 3g, but when i switch to wifi, it doesn't work. It does the same thing as tablet.
I read something on a website about about there being issues for someone as a DNS problem.
The only thing is that when I tried to use my phone as a hotspot using 3G, it still didn't work on my tablet.
arrrggg i don't know. restore didn't work.
Hi.
I have nexus 5 (android 4.2.2, TeamWin Recovery Project, root). Recently, problem with downloading files from play market and websites appeared.
I see infinite downloading in the play market. I see infinite work of the donwload manager process in the action bar, when I download some stuff from website (for example, when I try to download something from my HTTP local file server).
Sometimes I can solve my problem to restart smartphone, to clear data/cache play market app and download manager procces. But the problem occurs again.

I understand, but you might try signing out of all sessions on your pc on the Google dashboard, then clearing data again. Did you try fixing permissions? And clearing cache and dalvik?

I use this account only on a smartphone. Therefore, I can not end the session on a computer because it does not exist.
I have not tried to work with permissions.
I use ART runtime. Or what kind of cache you talking about?

Boot into recovery, clear cache, fix permissions, and reboot.
I didn't know you're on art, which I know nothing about.

Bummer. I'm afraid you're going to have to start thinking about a factory reset. Just back up your data first so you can easily restore everything afterward. Don't back up any system apps.

i would backup your data, then do a factory reset. if that doesn't fix it, then something is broken in the system and you will need to re-flash the stock firmware.

It will wipe all of your data, but your contacts and apps should sync back when you put your gmail back in after wiping.
If you are rooted, you can use an app like titanium backup to save app data and messages if you wish.

Yes, this is a straight-forward fail - I am running a CM13-based ROM and flashed a nightly build (has been redrawn meanwhile) onto my N5 without backing up first. Right after the first reboot, I received a "Play Services has stopped working" error message and this keeps appearing all the time. Additionally, the Google Now Launcher has disappeared from my launcher list - and of course, all the Play Services-dependent features don't work, i.e. Chrome, Contacts sync, Play Store and so on. So, my phone basically is useless.
I suspect all the problems arise from the non-working Play Services. I managed to uninstall them after deactivating the Android Device Manager and re-installed the latest version, but this didn't fix the problem. Is there anything else I can try? Or is there no way around a complete wipe?
have u flashed Gapps?
Tried it, but didn't help either. I'll just go for a full wipe now. But thank you for answering!

try clearing Cache and dalvik cache and then delete the host file from "etc" folder!
I should've tried deleting the host file. Wiping Dalvik and Cache didn't work before...
Anyway, I took the opportunity, put my 32GB mainboard in and set up everything from scratch.
Are you using amplify?
No, I didn't use that.
