[Q] TF700 keyboard keys not working (top row) - Asus Transformer TF700

Hey, i was wondering anyone else was having this issue.
I have the Tf700 with the TF700 dock and everything was working great until recently. All of sudden now some of the top row of keys do not work/dont do anything when i press them. My: wifi switch key, bluetooth key, turn off touchpad key, and the screen brightness keys do not work. All the other keys on the keyboard work. Ive only had this tablet and keyboard for 3 weeks. Ive rooted and unlocked and its been working perfectly fine until this morning i went to turn off my touchpad, since it gets in the way of typing sometimes and it wouldnt turn off when i used to the Touchpad off key. Is there anything that i can do to fix this issue?

Try rebooting your tablet. Happened to me once, too. A reboot fixed it.

i tried that and it didnt work. I finally figured out what was the problem. I accidently turned off com.asus.keyboard process when i was editting my start up programs and disabling certain ones. So once i reenabled it, it worked fine
Thanks for your help though

[Q] HELP! Capacitive side buttons stopped working!

Hey guys,
Oh i dunno whays happened. Everything worked fine yesterday then i went to sleep. Next day the side buttons stopped working. The touch screen still works but the side capacitive buttons stopped.
It doesnt even work when i boot into clockwork mod
I have so far tried:
Reboot did nothing
Put calibration.ini file in root directory
Put calibration.ini in sdcard2
Put calibration in sdcard root
Reboot
Didnt fix it.
I got it ebay as i live in australia so warranty may be difficult.
I am using button saviour to get by for now but until i can get the side buttons to work i can no longer navigate clockwork mod because the home button is the select button.
I'm usibg vegantab b5.1 at the moment.
Any help would be really appreciated!
BAM
If you haven't, you might want to try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=934500
Just tried it but still no joy. Looks like the side buttons are on a different touch interface to the rest of the screen. I guess it could be worse. Vegantab is a nice rom to be stuck on.
I wonder if there is a way to make clockwork mod work with a usb keyboard?
Woohoo! It's working again! Just in time for honeycomb too
I searched and searched for similar issues and finally read about either draining the battery or opening up to find the hidden reset button.
I opted to drain the battery.
Now I'm still not going to rubber stamp that draining the battery fixed it but when I did finally plug it in and fire it up I found the buttons worked again.
Another theory I have is that viewsonic might have some poor soldering. The reason I suggest that is because in Australia we've had some stinkin hot days here at 42degrees Celsius with high humidity. So it wouldn't surprise me for a dry solder to become temperamental under these conditions.
Anyways happy ending for now. Well hopefully it'll keep running until a reliable honeycomb rom turns up for gtab hey
I have encountered a similar problem. The side buttons stopped working after a few days of use. They do work sometimes randomly. Is there a reliable solution to this problem?
I tried calibration.ini, and the buttons worked once. They have stopped working again.

[Q] My own keyboard problem

I got my Transformer yesterday and so far I have been happy. I got the keyboard today and when I went to connect it, that's when my issues started. The mouse cursor appears on the screen, the status bar shows the keyboard is attached, and the battery shows that it's charging.
However, the keys and trackpad do not work. I have noticed that if I rapidly press keys while inserting the tablet, I can hear clicks for about 5 seconds, but then it stops. What's strange is I can mount external storage via USB.
I have not rooted my tablet, and I have tried restoring to stock settings, and rerun the update. Not sure what else to do. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem

Maybe you can try the newest FW-V8.2.3.13 with Dock 0209 for solving this problem.

touch screen dead

So here is the issue. Tablet has been working fine. Last night i did encryption so i could use exchange email without root. I am not rooted, i did have the update installed. After encryption and my account was set up if the screen timed out or was turned off and back on, touch would not work and pen would not work. I had to power down by holding the power button. Once restarted the screen would work until the screen went off again. Then the same issue. I called samsung to see what they could tell me. They had me do a factory reset. After the reset while in the setup stage (touch working) i turned the screen off and on. The touch was dead again. They told me the unit was defective and to return it.
I know another user was having the same issues with the touch screen. I dont know if he was encrypted or not but unlike me he was rooted.
This also looks like it was a problem with the first galaxy tab.
Anyone else having this issue or have insite?

Starting to sound like Samsung changed the touchscreen driver between the original release and the update.
I KNOW the pen driver has been changing frequently, not sure if the main TS driver is.
new tablet

Ok, My new tablet is working after encryption so far. I have not applied the update yet thought, a little scared to do so right now.

Argh, I just rooted my tablet after accepting the OTA yesterday and now my S Pen isn't working at all. This is bizarre.
Just reimage with ODIN if you can.

Capacitive Buttons not Working

I have the Verizon variant of the Galaxy S6
A few different times now the capacitive buttons stopped working. They don't light up, they don't work, and there is no haptic feedback from them. It always happens after a restart, but not the first restart.
I have tried factory reset and that didn't work. I had to flash my phone using Verizon's repair assistant to fix the problem.
The second time it happened I thought it was due to installing that Galaxy Lights app everyone is talking about. I booted into safe mode, uninstalled the app and restarted. Once I did it worked for a few more days before it happened again. I did a full repair to fix it.
A few minutes ago it happened again. This time I haven't installed that app or any other apps that would affect the buttons. I am rooted with Ping Pong but I haven't done anything other than remove a few bloatware items and use Titanium Backup.
Any suggestions? I'm desperate to find the problem and a solution so I don't have to keep resetting my phone. Thanks!
So, I booted into safe mode and the buttons were working fine. I didn't do anything and restarted into normal boot mode. Now the buttons are working just fine. We'll see what happens in the next few days if it reaccures.
Has anyone else had similar problems with them stop working?
Problem Again
I rebooted my phone and the buttons stopped working again. Booting into safe mode doesn't fix the problem.
I haven't installed any apps recently and no apps at all that would have an impact on the soft keys. I have a small hunch it may be caused by having a handful of apps open as i restart.
Any special resets or things I should try to get my soft keys working again?
This just happened to me today.
Galaxy S6, VZW.
Buttons were working just fine, and then suddenly stopped working as I was using the phone.
I had noticed a strange screen briefly that looked like the task manager but had no "close all" at the bottom, but I dismissed it and then shortly thereafter the buttons seemed to just stop working.
Haven't tried a safe mode boot yet. Will do that shortly.
If this is going to become a recurring thing, I'm sad.

Nope. No dice. Soft buttons (capacitive) not working at all (not lighting up at all either - even at boot).
Any ideas?
That sucks
Try uninstalling any recent apps that might affect haptic feedback, display settings, etc while in safe mode.
Otherwise you'll have to flash using Verizon recovery software. It'll install itself once you connect your phone to your PC. This will completely reset your phone so be sure to backup.
If you don't want to do all that just use "Handy Soft Keys"
It'll make a floating widget with the soft keys. I ultimately had to do a warranty exchange with VErizon.
I've had the same thing happen to me. Capacitive buttons just stopped working after having the phone for a week.
I've tried rebooting, running the battery down to 0, rebooting to safe mode. Nothing seems to work.
I've enabled the "tablet software buttons" (qemu.hw.mainkeys=0) in the interface so I can still use it for now, was hoping they'd magically start working again so I don't have to get a warranty (refurb) replacement.
Anyone else find something that fixed them?

Best advice I have is to flash your phone back to stock.
I still haven't restarted my phone, I really don't want them to stop working again.

Nope.
I tried a full factory reset/wipe, to no avail.
Took it to the VZW store and they got me a replacement no questions, though. The new phone has been working fine -- -- -- so far...
seems its a hardware issue. I've tried different ROMs flashing through Odin. Nothing happened. Sometime works, sometime not!!!

Question Keyboard completely not working

I have TB-J716F. I was using the keyboard properly last night. I just noticed at this moment that neither the keys nor the touchpad stopped working. I tried factory reset but it's still not working. The tablet can detect if the tablet is being connected (productivity mode), aside from that, no response.
Can anyone help?
Try Ctrl+Shift+T Lenovo has some weird key combinations that can turn off the Touchpad or keyboard (I guess) on hardware level, so a factory reset won't help. Try to think, what key combinations have you been using, if my suggestion doesn't help.
I already tried ctrl+shift+T as I've accidentally disabled my trackpad before, however that combination still doesn't work right now.
I'm not sure if there's a key combination that would disable the keyboard entirely.
Have you looked for corrosion/gunk on the pogo pins? I dunno if they're only used for power or power/data, but mine were worn when I got the pad. Just a thought I had.
