Hi,
I'm having wired issue when I connect usb to computer for charging or data transfer, screen becomes unresponsive and sometimes it works it only happens when I put my cell on straight surface.
While holding or in my hand it don't lags
Or become unresponsive.
I read something here on Xda there's a small silver thing on back never touched it.
I use anker battery n htc original.
Anker is the reason?

The usb lead, phone earth or PC has an issue where the capacitive screen is being altered by the voltage change. Try fixing the connection to the phone back, a different usb lead or another PC.

I just had to exchange my phone because it was not always charging when it was plugged in. I thought perhaps it just wasn't connected properly, but I would plug it in and any pressure I put on the cord would cause it to loose the 'plugged-in' icon. Now of course I'm paranoid that the new one (which seems better so far) will break in a similar fashion. Has anyone else had a similar issue? It looks like some folks on the Vibrant forum are reporting a similar problem.
This might be a silly question, but did you have the door slid ALL the way open? I know I read about a few people didnt "click" it all the way open and the cord would barely fit in there and loose connection easily. The door slides open and feels like it stops, but it will "click" over to lock it open all the way.

Yes. I read those threads too, and I'm sure it was a hardware defect.
I had the same problem. Exchanged it. No problems anymore

me too
I have the same problem. My door is absolutely slid all the way open but my micro USB slot is loose. I don't know how this happened since I use a backup battery charger to charge the a spare battery and then I swap out batteries so I never even plug up the charger. I use a bluetooth stereo headset so it wasn't the wired headset bouncing around that loosened it up. The only time I use the USB cable is to tether and all of a sudden last week I started loosing the connection with the laptop on my lap. If I have everything sitting on a desk untouched it is fine but as soon as you touch the phone or move the laptop much the connection is lost. I have to set the phone down in a way that puts it at a certain angle so that a connection is made.
I don't mind swapping out my phone but DANG, I paid 15 bucks for my screen protector and I got it on there perfectly!
I called att. They sent out another cable. Turns out it was the cable and not the micro USB on the phone.
Interesting...I never tried a different cable.

My phone also have this issue.. But it's charger related.. Sometimes the Traveler Adapter simply disconnects from the wall outlet.. So i'm using the iPhone adapter instead..
Hi guys
Something quite interesting, humorous, funny yet annoying is going on with my phone.
When my phone is plugged into the laptop, or any computer/device, the USB popup doesn't present itself and the phone has idea it is plugged into anything and just charges like it's plugged into the mains. However, when plugged into the mains charger, the USB notification pops up and the phone actually thinks it's plugged into some device like a windows machine. Weird huh?
Any ideas?
Thanks.
install htc sync or htc usb drivers in ur laptop. dnt knw about that issue

Thanks for replies.
Already have the naked drivers, tried 2 different cables and my current cable is an official htc charging cable and it's brand new.
cheers.
Hi all guys. when replacing a display for htc one x I happened to break a cable. has been damaged.
The cable in question is called: dock cable.
Can anyone tell me if it only serves to power the phone from the dock station, or is it essential for the operation?
Here Link
I can confirm it does NOT affect the screen/touch functionality. Not sure about wireless connectivity as I haven't tested it.
Most likely you'll only lose docking if you leave it disconnected.

I ripped the same cable nearly in 2 last night. After a bit of diy I got it back in place and together.
Even if my repair wasn't successful my phone is working correctly

I had my USB working properly till one day when all of a suddenly socket was broken. Don't know how it happend but USB socket was phisically damaged (plate with pins broken and pins hanging in the air without support). After puting the plug in it worked but only charging (I was suprised, that it worked at all). So I took it to nearest cell phone workshop and asked to replace micro USB socket in the phone. When they did it they informed me that it's charging but there is something wrong with data connection because phone is not recognised by any PC. Now it comes to my question. Phone, when connected to PC (several cables and PC's ) is displayed as "NOT RECOGNISED DEVICE" No matter if I connect it with SD card, without card, without battery, in working state or in fastboot. May it be USB brick which might be solved similar to HTC Desire solution ?
Sorry for typhos and grammar, English is not my native language.
I'd think that the physical damage has cut some contacts on the board.
You will have to live without USB connection

I have an HTC U11, yes I dropped it but no issues except for the primary mic stopped working. I had the mic issue fixed (the repair guy said the connection was loose, fixed it, and the mic works). But immediately since his fix, I'm randomly getting this Warning message: "The USB port of this device is experiencing a problem. Please disconnect the cable immediately to avoid possible damage. Do not use the USB port until you ensure that it is clear of obstructions and hasn't been exposed to liquids." This warning is displayed when nothing/no cable is connected to the USB port. Please see attached screenshot. It happens so sporadically, could be when I'm not using the phone or when I am using the phone and it's happening more frequently now. Sometimes I hear a beeping sound with the warning message. Does this mean I need a new USB port? FYI... Charging my phone works fine; no charging issues. Please help.
Update: The cell repair guy is ordering a new USB port to see if that resolves the issue. Fingers crossed!!

Did the new USB port (or was it the charging port and circuit board) solve the problem? I've been having the same problem with an HTC U11 and now HTC U12 Plus phones.

You must have changed your battery to aftermarket, the aftermarket battery doesn't have temperature sensor, if you check with devcheck app, you will see the battery temp will always stay at 27/28 degrees regardless of how hot the phone becomes. So the system sees USB is hot while battery is cold and then panic that you may have a short at the USB. The only remedy is to get OEM battery, or transplant you original battery board/flex to your new battery. I did my transplant and no more annoying message that won't let you do anything until you reboot or allow me phone to cool down.
