[Q] Flash Player Functionality? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anybody managed to get Flash working yet? I have downloaded the APK and installed it but to no avail. It's the only feature I am really missing right now. There must be a way. I've worked with many Android/Samsung devices and this is the first I haven't been able to get flash working.

Chrome doesn't support Flash, and while I can't speak to all of the browsers, Boat and Dolphin both support it. Perhaps try a different browser. Everyone I have seen that couldn't make Flash work eventually figured it out. Be persistent.

I use dolphin browser. That supports flash.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've installed flash player and I'm using dolphin but I'm still getting the blue blocks when attempting to load a flash enabled page. Would appreciate any support

Did that, rebooted. Still getting blue blocks for failed flash. I'm going bonkers

I can't seem to get it To work either...
Do you think it'll work when jelly bean is released?

What browser are you using? Flash works now. Don't look to the future if you don't have it working now. You're missing a setting somewhere.

I mainly use dolphin for pad but I have tried the mobile version as well...
So something is wrong I think. Then the only option is to factory reset my note?

I think you're missing a setting. That's all. Try Boat, and try uninstalling Dolphin and reinstalling it before you do a factory reset.

Cog 2.2b7 flash player not working

I have been searching for this and can't find anything so I'm asking now. I cannot get flash top work on any website since moving to this. I was 2.1 and only rooted before moving to 2.2
Any ideas?

Uninstall and reinstall flash? Reboot? Reinstall Cog? Did you try any of those?

Yeah, do the above. By default, they are checked and enabled. By chance, did you disable them in the Browser settings? Check the Plug-ins and make sure you're not on Never or On Demand.

I didn't have much flash trouble specifically on my first b7 install, but I did have generally clunky response and slow loading with the browser. With the second install I did make sure to Master Clear with Odin and it seemed to make a huge difference.
More of an FYI than a solution. Good luck finding the problem.

[Q] paulburton ICS port

So great to see another update with many bug fixes, I notice one of them is better suspend outcome, in your known issues post you state:
"Sometimes wakes from suspend by itself (usually when suspending via the screen timeout)"
Does shutting off the screen manually still result in it occasionally waking too ?
Also Wifi, does that break no matter how it suspends, manually or timeout ?
Cheers
Yes and yes to both questions
Just it seems that the nvidia ventana drivers work quite well because the build is smoother than before
I'm impressed with this build, the setup is smoother, the gApps work for the most part, i am tinkering with SD card mount currently to see if I can fix it

Thanks, very tempting to flash this again now more of it works... trying to convince myself that setting this back up for the 100th time will not be as painful as it was the first 99 times
Do we have a way to restore our App Backup's made with Honeycombs App Backup App yet ?
Yes, you can do it with titanium backup

Have you tried to reinstall the app on ICS yet? Alot of the apps that I have on HC usually run on ICS. I'm not sure if that particular one will install though. You may have to run it through a deodex, and try to install it via adb.
Did you find the workaround for the Wifi glitch stable?

up and running no problem, booted back into recovery fine, everything seems smooth. quite happy to run with this as i only use my tf for creating sigs and browsing the web / listening to music. Trying to find a screen capture app that works on this so i can show it off but the one i used took a capture and instead of the rom build details i got a recovery type screen but the writting was in green. kinda cool but obviously of no use lol
only question for me is: can future ics based roms just be flashed via recovery as normal?
i can jump back to h/c based roms from ics on my sgs2 via recovery no problems but im aware of hardware differences etc.
all apps from titanium backup running fine for me.

If you are already at ICS then yes, unless Paul or whomever decides that it's better to wipe first. Just remember, the TF doesn't flash the kernel (luna, spelling-- he he he) so you have to flash it separately to get back to HC. Otherwise a good nandroid should work just fine to return.

you need a video player from the Market. I use MXPlayer. Works just fine.
Anyone with Youtube issues needs to download and install Flash from the Market. YouTube is working fine on my tab after flash install.

Youtube app just closes when i select a video to play. Youtube.com in browser with flash just freeze after it has buffered.
im wondering....since the xoom and galaxy tab both share many features as the tf101, and the xoom and gtab both have stable cm9 builds... would we be able to "steal" some parts from those roms and make a port or something?

Gtab is a completely different board. So no. Xoom has a bunch of different parts that require different drivers, so, no on that too, unless you want to bork your tablet.

Yes. It works fine for me. Not supported in Chrome, but works in Browser, Opera, and Firefox. Skyfire supports Flash natively, so it won't affect Skyfire at all. I'm using it fine on JB 4.1.1.
EDIT: It won't brick your phone. The most that will happen is it simply won't work, and will take up space doing nothing. If it doesn't work for you, simply uninstall it, and it will be gone.
Wow
I can't even believe that it is that simple. I'm running CM10.1 (2/3/13) and this worked without a hitch using the CM Browser. Bravo!
So again, another reason why android beats iPhone. Lol

Can you go into app manager and force close the app, then clear the apps cache. Then go back out and start it up like normal?
Or uninstall and re-install?

If its a absolute "must" that you have this player, try contacting the developer. But with so many music apps out there, I am having a hard time understanding why this is that "must have" app. I was like that with Doubletwist, but I started having some issues on this different device, so I switched. No biggie.

Flash on KitKat/GS5

If anyone is interested and hasn't already discovered this on their own, Firefox has made flash work again. Just download and install the newest version of Firefox. Then go to http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.81/install_flash_player_ics.apk. download and install this version of flash and go to town. Some sites will recognize the mobile browser and disable flash, but switching to the desktop mode will bypass this
