[Q] Online Windows Phone Marketplace (windowsphone.com) not working? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Today I noticed that I can't install apps from online marketplace (at windowsphone.com), and all other functions on the site are disabled too, like no phone is registered on my Live account. I am using beta 7.8 ROM for Omnia 7 that has been around for some time, if it makes any significance.
I get the following message: "You need to sign in with a Microsoft account on your phone before you can get apps from Windows Phone Store."

}
Of course, I am logged in with the same Live account that I am using on my phone, as always. Marketplace app on the phone itself is working normally, without problems of any kind.
Maybe that has something to do with using beta ROM (THIS one)? Anybody else having this problem?

Does anyone have any idea?

Does anyone know an app that will transfer my Emails/SMS from my MDA to my Dash? Just got the Dash today but this is my only problem.
alltime: enigmatic topic titles are one of the best ways to get under the skin of forum members AFAIK.

Try using one of the SMS transfer programs (just google for SMS Backup Pocketpc) and see if they have a version that works on Smartphone and PocketPC. Then do a selective backup/transfer. Backup your system before you do this though.
There are other apps that will export SMS etc to a standalone file and then let you import to another device. Not sure if they will go from PocketPC to Smartphone though. I never tried it.

Facebook Home is here !!!
As many of you know Modaco has already got a copy of it.
It is meant to be officially released via the Play Store this Friday the 12th.
It doesn’t consist of one APK however, it consists of three.
Those being the main Facebook app (katana), the messenger app which integrates into your SMS (orca) and the home/launcher app (shell).
It is pre-release, so try it out at your own risk. Reports have said it’s a little buggy but it mostly works.
Requirements for the apps is having a 1280×768 screen. You’ll also need to uninstall all your current Facebook apps.

Has anyone searched and noticed that if you try and search for BlackBerry Messenger in the play store you find multiple seemingly official looking apps...

Anyone know what's going on, have RIM really published the app on loads of accounts to take up the first load of results?
Something is fishy...

i hope google can remove all trash fake bbm in play store
There are a lot of fake BBM apks and you will need to be careful about which apks you load on your phone because some of them are probably malware. There is a thread for the "official" BBM apk here.

[Q] Auto launcher shortcut on install?

For some reason my N5 seems to have stopped creating a shortcut on the launcher when I install a new app and I cant for the life of me find it...any clues please?!
I use this feature quite heavily as I run a simple one screen setup and tend to browse Play Store from a PC and send software to my phone during the day...that new installs dump to the desktop means I know theres something new for me to tidy up...whereas without this I'm huntimg through pages of the App Drawer trying to remember whats new,
It's the auto-add widgets setting in Play Store

Can't add Google account or transfer files during setup

Hi,
My old phone (Nokia 5.1 Plus) needs to be send for repair so I want to set up my old RedMi 6A.
I have 2 issues:
- During setup, if I select to transfer data from my old to new phone, it gets to the part it wants to transfer accounts. But after a few seconds it gives an error that something went wrong.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- When finishing setup and go to Settings/Synchronise/Add Google account I get to the point of accepting the terms, and again I get an error: something went wrong.
I already tried a factory restore;
I also tried it without and with sim card, and restarted the phone several times.
Does anyone have any suggestion?
