Are there any free apps that can analyze what folders and files are taking up the most space on internal storage? I'm thinking something like Grid Size but for internal storage instead of the SD card.
Thank you!

We all know that phones have 3 hard drives. The internal memory, the internal sd, and the external sd.
For those of you that don't, the g2x has an advertised 8gb of internal memory. They did not however, mentioned that it is split up into 2 parts. 1.5 gigs for internal memory, for apps, programs, etc aka phones memory. Then the remaining is called the internal sd card, for all your pictures, movies, files etc. Then you hav the external sd, which is the microsd card you can pick up from future shop, best buy etc also used for files.
So my question is: is it possible to install and app onto your external sd card? IV heard of an app called app2ext but a market search failed to show and results

hello, i was wondering if its possible to switch, for example, the application data of need for speed hot pursuit from "sdcard/android/data" to the internal memory of the phone..
that folder has a size of 400mb! and the internal memory is almost empty!..
maybe, depends on app, some apps default install to sd card
open app menu check for setting options
try moving app in menu/settings/apps
try moving with titanium backup

In the notification list, several apps have posted this warning: "Insufficient storage available".
Under /root, there is 194MB of 2.0 GB free. The internal SD card is okay with 5 GB free. My external card has 21GB free.
I've emptied the cache. Are there any folders that can be moved to the SD card. Is there anything else I can do to free-up space?
For the apps that report that, go into settings, apps, and clear their caches. See if that clears it up.

Sad to say, that didn't help. Most of the apps already had clear caches. The one app with a cache only used 12kb.

At this point I'd Odin back to stock. That should clear up the space. Back everything up first, though.
To OP.
There is your 5 GB internal SD card you can use. Try moving pics/videos ... To your external SD and freeup even more on your internal SD. Then go to settings and apps and get those apps which occupy over 50mb each and hit "move to SD card"
In my pics below you can see on an app like eBay with only 16mb consumed the difference comparing before (on 2.0 GB phone memory partition) versus after (on internal SD partition is not significant).
But on those games like angry birds ... You save a lot of space doing that.

The real issue is with my 2.0 GB phone memory partition. It only has 194MB free. Most of my moveable apps are already on the external SD, which is why I have a healthy 5GB free (of 11GB) on the internal SD.
What would really help is increasing the size of the 2.0 GB phone memory partition. Can that be done?

No you can't change the partition size. It's your data partition and is fixed at 2gb.

Too bad. There should be an app for that.

I think you already got too many apps lol. That partition saves your messages, contacts and apps. Don't know if you can reduce any of those.
Mehbeh dis?
I can't believe what's going on. It's as if my internal memory is unreadable. Can't save whatsapp chats, can't save SwiftKey layout, can't save XPosed framework, can't play BattleCamp, and other various issues that all have one thing in coming...
INTERNAL MEMORY ACCESS. (whatsapp saves to sdcard/whatsapp, SwiftKey keyboard layouts are on internal memory, xposed is located sdcard/Android/data/)
It's as if my phone has lost access to the memory and everything located on the INTERNAL MEMORY. external memory works fine (music, photos, apps saved on SD card)
Idk what to do now, so stuck been trying hours to fix this... Please ask anything, I'll do the best I can to answer!
Thanks in advance!

I was going through my stuff when I noticed in the storage section that all my saved data shows up in the top portion as internal storage (music, pix, files) even though they are physically saved on the external SD card. When I look at the SD card it shows 2gb used, but I can't click on it to show me what the stuff is. When I file explore to my files and look at detail, they do say external storage. What is causing this to happen?

Screenshot?
Sorry can't really get a screenshot. When you look at it, it all looks legit. But I know where my things are saved and they show up on the internal storage not the external SD card where they actually are
