I have a spare asus eee PC that I have booted itch android. My question is does anyone know if I hooked up an external VGA monitor with USB touch screen output if it would work like a giant android tablet. (I'm thinking of a wall mounted application). Please let me know if this is possible or if it has been done.

We currently have a netbook that is several years old and is WELL used so I'm looking at replacing it soon. I know the Transformer would be great for most of the things we use the netbook for, email, internet, facebook, etc. But I do have some questions about capabilities because I'm not 100% sure the Transformer can replace everything we are currently doing with a netbook.
Can you copy from one external USB drive to another through the Transformer? While on trips we use a netbook to dump video we take on an HDD camcorder. When you plug the HDD camcorder into a computer via USB, the computer sees it as a USB drive formatted FAT32. I also have a 2.5" external HDD. Could I connect both the camcorder and the external HDD to the Transformer and transfer the files? (I understand that if this is possible at all, it would have to be done with the keyboard/dock.)
same question as above, but with a USB card reader instead of a camcorder. Need to be able to dump photos from our camera's CF card.
If the tablet is out of power and you plug it into the keyboard/dock, does it actually charge the tablet, or does it just power the tablet? (Assuming it only powers it.)
Can you charge a USB device (such as a cell phone) from the keyboard/dock USB port without the tabled docked to it? (Assuming no.)
Anyone use it as an ereader such as the Kindle app? How readable is it in daylight?

The dock's battery is designed to be an extension of the tablet's battery and the firmware's goal is to keep the tablet charged and ready for disconnect. From my experience it appears that when you are docked the dock's is constantly transferring power to the tablet so I suspect it would charge a flat tablet battery. When the charger is connected the dock the tablet's battery is charged first, and then the dock's battery. This is in keeping with the design of ensuring the tablet is ready to go standalone all the time.

Like most TFT displays the screen is largely unreadable in direct sunlight. If you need to read by the pool in direct sunlight that you want an e-ink screen like the Kindle or original (not color) Nook.
There are plenty of apps that let you control your PC with your android phone/tablet, but is there something that lets you control your tablet with a PC keyboard/mouse?
I was smart enough to buy the EEE pad TF101 without the dock, and ASUS was so smart that they put the USB in on the dock.. (Anyone want to trade ? )
I found this http://www.xda-developers.com/android/use-your-pc-as-your-android-keyboard-with-pcbtkeyboard/ but it requires bluetooth which my desktop doesn't have.
Any tips? Thanks in advance.
have you tried using BT dongle on your desktop ?
hi all,
Since the Search button isn't working atm i make a new threat... ('Search is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience.')
So my question is:
Does anyone has connected the TF300T Tab to a external screen ? is the resolution good? when i want to play Dead Trigger , would i have a lot of benefit with a external screen?
I have a 21" monitor with VGA and DVI , i found online a Micro HDMI to VGA cable , so that should work right ?
Aslo would external USB hub's work on the USB-port on the TF300T ?
Thank you
yes you can use hubs but they won't do you really no good if you have a dock

The Acer 10.1 inches Tablet Iconia One 10 - B3-A20 belongs to my son, he accidentally dropped it and the whole led screen have shattered, unable to see icons, etc.. but can see rainbow lines, etc..
I'm hoping maybe someone can tell me if there are such cable or something that I can plug it into TV and at the same time to use USB mouse or something to navigate the screen via TV? - So that my son can backup couple of the paid game (locally) - most games are auto backed up but game like dragon city, etc.. required a manually backup.
I've seen something like MHL Micro USB to HDMI Cable Mirror Mobile Device to HDTV but also saw on one of the YouTube comments saying that it would not work if it's android 5.0 or newer?
Could someone tell me if tablet are accessible, or it is total trash? any tips?
I'm hoping not too technical i.e. root access via pc, etc.. cos I am useless on those kind of thing but willing to give it a try but at the last resort.
Thanks
Hey, from what I gather DEX mode gives you a desktop style experience with the note 9 on an external screen. But does anyone know if it's possible to use it on the screen of a tablet running Windows 10? Not run in windows, but just essentially make use of its screen? Although I'm sure I saw a video of a guy plugging the phone into a laptop and using its screen. The tablet is a lovely 12 incher with a great screen and a built in stand, I just think it would be cool to use it's screen while playing games through the phone with a Bluetooth controller. The tablet has a full size usb port and a mini HDMI which I don't know if it would be an input as well or just output.
Any ideas?
No you can use teamviewer as a remote though
nopez. there is no way a normal Tablet or even Laptop lends just the screen to an external source.
Unless a niche product i am unaware, No video input (HDMI or whatever) input to be found. Just Output.
So a software solution is needed to replicate the phone on the Tablet screen. And that will not make the phone desktop to switch to Dex mode.
Samsung Sidesync program is what you need to run in your Windows 10 Tablet. Hopefully a future iteration of Samsung soft will allow for kind of "dex mode" desktop, as it would allow a better use of screen realstate in the Win10 device landscape format screen
