HDMI Mirror + Mouse - General Questions and Answers

The Acer 10.1 inches Tablet Iconia One 10 - B3-A20 belongs to my son, he accidentally dropped it and the whole led screen have shattered, unable to see icons, etc.. but can see rainbow lines, etc..
I'm hoping maybe someone can tell me if there are such cable or something that I can plug it into TV and at the same time to use USB mouse or something to navigate the screen via TV? - So that my son can backup couple of the paid game (locally) - most games are auto backed up but game like dragon city, etc.. required a manually backup.
I've seen something like MHL Micro USB to HDMI Cable Mirror Mobile Device to HDTV but also saw on one of the YouTube comments saying that it would not work if it's android 5.0 or newer?
Could someone tell me if tablet are accessible, or it is total trash? any tips?
I'm hoping not too technical i.e. root access via pc, etc.. cos I am useless on those kind of thing but willing to give it a try but at the last resort.
Thanks

[Q] Can I use a large external touch screen monitor to control phone/tablet?

Hi guys,
Is there any way to connect a Hero or Vega (or any android device for that matter) to an external touch screen monitor and control the phone/tablet via the large monitor?
I understand it is pretty easy to watch movies etc on a bigger monitor but I am wanting to actually use the touch screen input of the monitor to control the device.
My aim is to use this as an entertainment system on a 22" (anything over 15") touch screen in a VW campervan conversion project smile.gif
Any help hugely appreciated.
Cheers,
Wag
look on ebay for touch screen addons for laptop or computer monitors most just emulate a usb mouse so if the android tablet or whatever your using supports usb mouse support like some of the viewsonic gtablet roms do i woul think it would work pretty good if you could find one for the size screen you want.
something like this but for the size screen you want http://goo.gl/4GdgT
You need to hack it
I had a similar idea and one of the Touch screen panels as mentioned by gator2k83. It did not work that way as he proposed.
The touch screen works with absolute positions. A mouse is relative position.
You need to hack it the bad way.
See my blog post about it:

HP 23TM touch screen monitor and android tablets
Would the new HP 23TM touch screen monitor work with a 7 inch tablet as an external touch screen monitor? The table has a hdmi out and a micro usb out which could be hooked up with OTG cable?
Thanks.
It would be great to be able to do that

[Q] 1tb hard drive + apad?

Hey guys,
I was recently recommended to this site from someone I know. I recently bought a MID apad tablet, green on light, red charging light with vibration on power on and 24 pin usb/ethernet connector.
The version is wmt2.1.2_105.
I have a western digital 1tb external hard drive with about 500gb worth of films etc on.
Now I want my apad to read the drive to put music/films on a usb stick to watch/play on my usb drive on my tv or simply work on my tv directly. However I was told formatting to FAT32 would do this but after doing it through a pc then recopying my data, my apad and tv detects it but the apad says 'preparing udisk' and doesn't read the drive. The tv shows a folder saying 'usb 1.1' then doesn't load anything when you select it.
Can anyone please help me?
I am familiar with how to flash the tablet but have only found one compatable rom so far. It has access to the official android market so if there is a readily available app that would be ideal.
If this can't be done is it possible to install windows on it with the onscreen keyboard and touch screen capability?

[Q] How to control phone via ADB/OTG Mouse (my touchscreen died)

My touchscreen just crapped out on me a couple weeks back. I've bought a new phone and was able to retrieve all my documents/pictures from my One XL as it functions perfectly in all other aspects other than the touchscreen.
I was hoping to turn this into just a not so portable PMP having it permanently sit in the dock so I can watch movies and youtube while on my PC and control the phone via the usb port with my mouse. I tried my OTG cable with a usb mouse but that doesn't seem to work.
I also tried android screencast which while it mirrors the device's screen onto the PC doesn't actually grant any control over the device.
I was wondering if you guys knew of a way I can bypass my lockscreen via using the ADB as that's the first hurdle I need to get through.

Lenovo Tab 2 Xbox 360 Wireless controller over OTG Cable

i want to use the controller for apps like fpse and stuff.
already tried USB BT Joycenter but that wasnt working, the controller was connecting and showing as First player but there was no input and i cant get any updated version of the app cause i cant find it on the appstore.
the other thing i tried was editing the controller layout files, but they werent even on the tablet.
is there anything else i can do to get this to work?
I tried to connect my xbox 360 wireless controller via dongle aswell. it kinda connects but i am not really sure. the moment i let the dongle and the controller search for each other they seem to find each other straight away, but the led ring just keeps blinking and wont find a channel so to speak.
i followed sleeplessninjas guide and copied over the vendor_45e_product_0291/0719.kl and kcm but it didnt change the controller problem.
the controller is not recognized by any app i tried nor does the system itself show any response to the controller input.
i can connect a mouse or a usb flashdrive without a problem plug n play out of the box. but the controller wont get recognized.
i read on a shop review that the problem would be that the lenovo tab2 a10 doesnt have driver for the controller shipped with it.
my question would be: would cooking up my own android rom help and would i even be able to make it work on the device, i keep reading about lenovo devices being *****y about bootloader and such.
and then again cooking up ones own android is kinda of a longshot for an android beginner like me. need to read more. propably doable but are there even drivers available for the device fitting the system?
would appreciate someone shedding a bit of light in all the confusion cheers

One half of the screen does not work the touch screen

Hello everyone, I have been reading and respecting you for a long time.
They gave me a Mediacom tablet with Android to repair or throw away as a favor, I'm not asking for money and I'm not a professional, just self-taught. It basically had half the screen where the touch screen didn't work, so in addition to trying with the "pizoelectric" lighter as seen on youtube and various apps, I decided to try replacing the touch screen as well. Once done, the problem remained as it was. I tried to do the factory reset and now I'm stuck in the installation because I can't click on the buttons to finish the installation. I used to at least rotate the screen and run it on the good half. But now I'm stuck in the installation. I also tried to take a usb dongle to attach a mouse to it, but it doesn't see it, also tried on the smartphone, but it doesn't see it anyway. 1. Confirmed that it is not damage to the touch screen. Can I finish installation via adb shell? What do you think is the problem? is it software? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
It's hard to advise anything without writing the model name of the device. Adb host will not work when it is not enabled in the device.

The model is smarpad iyo 10, but I doubt it serves as information, since it is probably an Android 9 problem. I thought it was possible at boot to enable a shell and complete the installation or maybe rotate the screen.
Thank you for answering.
The Rockchip A55 RK3566 processor in the Mediacom IYO 10, supports USB OTG, so a mouse connected to an OTG adapter should work.
Which adapter did you use?
The touch screen for the Mediacom IYO 10 is not outstandingly complicated and has no chipset in it. So the touch is controlled by the mother or daughter board electronics, which you probably did not replace when you replaced the screen.

The Otg adapter is from Tek-one to-g-15, it may be that it doesn't work, in fact it doesn't work on the mobile either, I try to change it.
As you said, the touch had no chip, just a connector to the motherboard.
An information that I have omitted may be useful, at the beginning the tablet also had another problem, in some circumstances that I have not explored, the screen or the resolution was resized in half, presumably in the working half. Almost immediately the scaling issue was fixed by randomly activating a gui option in hidden developer mode.
Now, excluding the Otg that I'm going to change, do I have any possibility of continuing the installation via shell?
Thanks for the precious information.
You probably don't have TWRP so you won't do anything with the build.prop file.
The lack of a shell is the result of not enabling debugging in the developer options, available only after starting android.
Look for a working OTG adapter.
Maybe this thread will help you.
