Running Android applications on a Windows system is not new , most of us know bluestock ......
But what is new here is that AMD processors industry famous cooperated with BlueStacks App Store launched AMD AppZone ( http://www.amd.com/us/vision/shop/cool-apps/Pages/androidapps.aspx ) which allows users to download and run Android applications on Windows very easily by browsing through applications from the store, which offers 500 thousand application, and a single push of a button you can download and install the application that you want to visit and play. But AMD did not stop at the store, of course, but added advantage here is that they cooperated with BlueStacks to improve simulation provided by layer specifically for AMD processors. Any supposed to operate these applications have better and smoothly higher if your computer carries processor from AMD.
When you download an application for the first time will take some time as they will be practically full load platform BlueStacks him, but then are loaded applications easily format exe (like Windows applications normal) and run and a shortcut on her desktop like any other application unusual.

Saw this on BBC, I'd like blue stacks for Linux so I can watch Netflix on my Ubuntu Net book.
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using xda app-developers app

Is this only possible on AMD CPU machines? Is there a similar way to do it with Intel CPU machines?
EDIT:
Looks like it's "optimized" for AMD, but you can get bluestacks for any processor.
http://bluestacks.com/?page_id=339
I'm downloading it now. Interested to see how this works.

it will work with your intel cpu
it work with any procrssor but more better with ADM devices

Android Emulator
Technically speaking, Android Emulator that comes with Android SDK is the best emulator. You can emulate any(well, almost) Android Device and run apps on it. It is available for Windows as well as Linux.
But, BlueStacks provides an 'out of box' experience. You don't have to do much further downloads or configurations. With Android Emulator, you may need to download plugins for the target device to be emulated. You'll also need to setup a virtual device manually before starting to play games. It's for advanced users and developers and not recommended for n00bs.

Depending on your needs the answers will vary like the previous poster stated...
IMHO, the most useful apps (for me) are:
- Flash (Get latest from adobe archives, because they have stopped developing for Android)
- A Tor based browser to circumvent any national blocks. (There is a combined package)
- Google Drive, so you can edit/share spreadsheets etc without filling your SD card.
I'm sure there will be many more things you will get interested in...

Well that's all for now, 3M

Here are some that I get on new devices
Latest Flash player for Android Version 11.1.115.81 this is a direct download link, check download folder for the apk file.
SwiFTP it enables an Android phone or tablet to easily share files with computers or other devices over a wifi network. These computers only need to have an FTP client, which all computers do. You can walk around with your MP3/video/ebook/whatever collection and share it seamlessly with almost any wifi-enabled system.

There have been several instances where it would be more comfortable to run an Android app on my computer than to use my smart phone. I have tried running Android in a VirtualBox and it does work, however, Android is its own OS that you still need to boot into. But what if you could run an Android APK directly in Ubuntu? Well.... you can!*
Google released a Chrome app named ARC Welder, which allows you to run Android apps if you’re on the Chrome OS or using the Chrome web browser. Grab the ARC Welder Chrome app here (200MB)...
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/arc-welder/emfinbmielocnlhgmfkkmkngdoccbadn
Just open the link in Google Chrome or search for ARC Welder in the Chrome app store and install it.
Installing Android apps take a little bit of extra steps, but not a big deal. First, find the Android app you want in the
Mod Edit: Link to site containing warez removed
This will generate an APK download link for the app. Once you have downloaded an APK file, open the ARC Welder app in your Chrome browser (thru the browser apps link). The first time you run ARC Welder it will ask you where to store files for the apps. Create a folder wherever you like before installing an APK. I created a folder in my HOME directory. Once you do that, simply add your APK file now.
You'll also be asked about the size of your app such as tablet or phone, landscape or portrait. Put them to your liking and then install!
* Here is the caveat. Not ALL Android apps are going to work. Some do, some dont. There’s no guarantee the apps you try will work or that they’ll be usable.
I originally did this so I can run an investment app called "Robinhood" (pictured at the top of this post) to buy and sell stocks without paying any commission fees. The app is nice, but its much easier to use it on a desktop computer. Other apps I have tried that work are basic programs like "Bitcoin Checker" and "Coin Pirates" and "Backgammon Free". Programs that require heavy graphics like car racing games probably wont work. Hulu DID work for me, Netflix did NOT. Your mileage may very.
Have fun and Good Luck!

Ubuntu Touch on Google Nexus 4, 5, 6 using windows 10 installer

It doesn't work and doesn't install. Installing a new operating system into anything is not rocket science for technicians, either the software is being 'sabotaged' from not working in the windows platform because i couldn't even able to install the installer.
these graphical interface to communicate no need as just complicates thing and makes it buggy. command line is all you need for installing or loading files. either the drivers work or not. that is the problem. so at this moment the installer is BETA..so issues and may not work as they say it does. the software is in BETA. doesn't work.
this like 'sabotage' of the software. so it doesn't install. or doesn't work. in windows 10. android and ubuntu is competition right.
these nexus models were designed to work so and easy to unlock. unlike some phones that are locked and owners of the hardware cannot unlock oem bootloader. Now windows 10 fails to communicate with android and not installing certain files. In the 80's compatibility was a big issue and many programs were designed to work in only some platforms. and not easily portable. and windows 10 is not open source so third party software developers are not able to make software and test it on windows 10 and windows 10 or android google store can change their update and make many applications 'obsolete' and not workable due to changes in the operating system. The OS is like main director/gatekeeper/ traffic coordinator etc. regulator of the system. if the operating is blocking certain programs from communicating. or hardware has a block on it..there is nothing a user can do. if doesn't work,,no point trying to make it work. wasting people time saying the installer works. the installer is just bunch command lines. with graphical icons and images and buttons.
The mentioned

runs well on Windows computers - see screenshot above.
It depends neither on Windows version ( it's a 32-bit executable ) nor on Windows edition.
When launching it at Windows 10 you get informed that this software is suspicous, that it may harm your Windows OS: this because it's not listed in Microsoft's database.
You also get noticed that ADB must got installed and systemwide accessible prior to use it.
So what's your real problem? I can't see one.

[App] [Desktop] Android Toolbox

Android ToolboxWhat does it do?This application is built with Flutter. It uses adb behind the scenes to execute each and every user operation. The application comes bundled with adb, so you need not have adb installed and configured in path. I plan to bring it to linux after adding some functionality.
Features
You can now perform some file management tasks
File Transfers are performed using adb push and pull. So, that should bypass a lot of API and protocol overheads resulting in a much better file transfer speed especially when transferring a large number of files.
Reboot to system, recovery, fastboot, bootloader, recovery's sideload mode directly or simply power off using the power controls
You can open, offload, suspend, un-suspend, install, uninstall, kill or recompile apps. (Apps are currently shown as package names only. I couldn't find a way to get app titles without pushing aapt to the mobile device.)
Suspending: Suspended apps cannot be launched until they are unsuspended. Useful when there are some apps which send pesky notifications/annoy but you don't want to uninstall.
Offloading: Uninstall apps to save space while keeping app data intact. Upon reinstalling the app, it will resume right where you left (Exactly how iOS app offload works except, you will have to install the app when needed).
Bloatware or other system apps can now be uninstalled without root (Uninstall for your user while keeping data)
Reinstall uninstalled system apps: "Whoops! Uninstalling X system app is causing some of the other dependent apps to crash!" Fret not! You don't have to remember the uninstalled app package names and can reinstall those apps using the reinstall uninstalled system apps feature.
App currently works on Linux (but not supported yet) and Windows, but only Windows installer is available as of now. Linux users can clone and compile it for themselves.
Inbuilt update support for Windows. App will ask you to update when a new update is released
Unable to wait for new features? There is support to update to pre-release version from within the app.
Dark theme support. Uses mica in Windows 11, acrylic in Windows 10 and a regular solid background in Linux.
More soon......
