Hello,
I´m using a Nexus S with Stock Android 4.1.1 and I have the problem that I receive whatsapp messages and emails with a 10 minute delay.
This only happens when I´m connected to my WIFI and when the phone is in standby mode for aprox 1 hour.
When I´m connected to mobile network I receive the messages immediately.
Has anyone got an advice for me to solve this problem?
Best regards,
Marius
Settings --> WiFi --> Menu / Advanced --> Sleep Policy
You probably disable your data when your at home, so you wont get notifications from a data connection and the sleep policy would be set up to turn off wifi if it's not in active use.
The sleep policy says that the wifi should stay connected when the Phone goes into standby.
I have looked at the wifi symbol in the statusbar during the last days, and I have seen that the symbol is grey very often.
That means that the phone has no Internet connection.
I think it has something to do with my wifi router.
But I have no idea how to solve this issue :/

Hi, I'm using Energy rom 21914.Sense2.5.Cookie.GTX.Aug.24 in my sprint TP2 since the release and today I'm experiencing a problem:
when connected by WiFi (with max strenght signal also) and trying to send or sync my e-mail, the phone will open a data connection instead of using the wireless one already connected!
The problem is that I have a very very limited data plan and since I'm usually connected by wifi this sucks...
The other apps, weather/opera/etc keep on the wifi connection and the only thing that opens a new data connection is the mail - by the mail tab and by windows live.
I also know that I could turn off the data connections with "Data Controller" or so, but I'm really upset because all was going well until today and now with no apparent reason it occurs this stupid thing!!
Anyone experiencing this or having a solution to get it back to normal?
Hello, I just recently bought a Nexus S (i9020a) and I'm new to Android.
My only issue is that when I have my phone not in use for like 20 minutes, the wifi and cellular
signal bars turn a white/grey and it says I have no internet access. Wat do?

You have not set the wifi sleep policy, after the screen timeout the wifi gets disconnect. Go to wifi settings, and check advance settings- and modify the wifi sleep policy to "never". Regarding the grey part- if you are not connected to google services the bars will turn to white- thats the feature of Android
This just started happening within the last week.
My phone is rooted.
It seems that when I have WiFi turned on I have a complete loss of 4G/3G/2G/G RF. If I turn WiFi off, then the phone signal comes back. This wouldn't bother me that much if I could send texts over WiFi with no normal phone signal, but everytime I try to send a text over WiFi it fails to send. Anyone else experience this issue?
Thanks
With wifi calling it purposefully turns off your mobile data so it doesn't use any of your minutes/data. You can go into wifi calling and select preferences and turn it to cellular connection preferred - that way your phone will still use your signal whenever it can, but keep in mind you'll use a lot more data and your battery won't last as long. I do have texts fail from time to time on wifi calling but it hasn't been too bad recently. If you don't have a good wifi signal then just turn off wifi calling.
Thanks for the info!
So why would the texts keep failing? I will even try to keep re-sending the text and still they will fail. Is there a specific port on the router that needs to be open for better optimization?
I missed some WhatsApp calls at home and noticed that it's getting unconnected to WiFi after screen is off for some minutes. Mobile data is off at home and I checked WiFi always connected in WiFi advanced settings . What is 4he problem?
Had this issue with cm on My Samsung S5 mini. Used the APP "wifi stay Connect" to solve the issue. Otherwise check the s5 mini cm forum in xda for more ideas.
Hi,
I just got a Honor view 10 and I have a problem that I can't solve even after a complete reset
My Wi-Fi is still active even when the phone is in standby
I see it in the stats of the battery and I constantly receive notifications while I'm not in 4G
Of course I change the option "Wi-Fi active standby" to NEVER in the Wi-Fi settings and "Search Wi-Fi" to OFF in the location settings
I think it's due to a service or an application that keeps the wifi enabled but I can't find which one..

* This screenshot is not mine but I exactly have the same result about Wi-Fi
Thanks,
