I just don't think they've integrated it properly.
I'm gutted as I love Chrome.
Saying that tho... I love JB more so I'm happy using the stock browser for now.

Chrome
Yeah Im on Bruce's 28 build and having issues, and yeah supposedly its Chrome's problem not the ROM's.
Yup I get these issues on Bruce's too. I think it's definitely Chrome's issues with the Sensation's GPU or something. Doesn't happen on other phones running CM10 as far as I know.
I'm having the same problem with HD2 running JB, on top of the same problem on my Sensation. It seems like an issue with the Adreno drivers on JB. But the thing I can't understand is why it only affects Chrome and no other software, including all other browsers I have tried.
BTW, the latest CM10 build (dated 6 Nov 12) glitches a lot less than the older builds. There is still some problems, particularly with scrolling and opening new tabs, but it is at least usable now.
Mine doing it too. ViperS

Has anyone else had random reboots with the latest version of Maps that was released on 8/16/2012? I know over in the AOKP thread we have:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30327622&postcount=1518
I wanted to mention it here, because I noticed other reviews on the Play store mentioning the same problem. If anyone else is having the issue, you can get the previous version of the Maps app here and sideload it until Google gets this resolved:

I'm running CleanRom 4.5 DE final and haven't had any problems with the latest update. I know it doesn't help the problem, but it would be nice for everyone to sound off and compile a list of the roms having issues.

Yeah, I appreciate it. So far it seems pretty random. I've read that a variety of HTC devices with a variety of ROMs (including stock) have the issue, with at least one person reporting an issue with a Motorola device.
I am on CM10 and haven't had any issues with the new update. I haven't actually used maps much, possibly at all(?), but I haven't had any problems. I'll update if I start to use it and get issues.

I was running CM10 back in the day when it was not yet officially hosted by the CM team and I I went back to stock since there were a couple issues with the video recorder and other things. I see now that CM10 is officially being hosted by the CM team but they are still nightly, but I still would like to give it another go around. I was just wondering if there what are the major issues with the ROM right now (if any)?
The first posts don't really tell much except "it's a major work in progress" and the official change log might as well be gibberish to me, and I'm definitely not about to go through all 500+ pages, so if someone would give me a brief summary of what is/isn't working it would be much appreciated!

Its definitely daily driver ready. Just some wake locks making it not have as good battery life as sense. But everything else works great. The build bot has been broken since 10/12 so when the next official nightly comes out, it should have a bunch of new things... Maybe new kernel?

The night lies have been down because some changes were made to the code upstream that causes the Evita build to fail. They're working on the kernel fixes to get the night lies to compile again but apparently its very involved.

Just wanted to give my experience of flashing to the JB 4.1.1 CleanRom 4.0. I was on stock, everything running fine, batterly life is great, but got the flashing itch and was waiting on JB. Saw the preliminary post on the forums and everything looked ok for the leaked 4.1.1 and decided to flash it. My impression was it was ok, nothing special and whats worst, my battery life became horrible. Some sort of bug about media wakelock etc...
I stayed on it for 2 days and decided to flash back to my nandroid backup.(thank god I did it)
So for now, think Imma stay put on flashing until things settles a bit.
BTW, yes I did flash the latest radios on the leaked 4.1.1. I'm back on the HE radios now.
Did you flash the RPM file that comes with every JB Rom? I haven't had any issues with battery wake time, I have seen my battery go even farther with the update im on Synergy build 90. Only issue I have is GPS and im too busy to fully troubleshoot it
Yup, flashed the leaked radios along with the RPM. Followed the OP directions to the dot.
I might try Jellywiz. Give it another shot.
yea i went back to ics aswell...battery on touchwiz jelly is half of what i get on ics. the main thing is the lag that sets in after a day or two of using 4.1. i suspect it will be fixed soon when the official update is dropped.

Cmon bro really?
Of course I did a full wipe...you realize I preach this stuff to new users daily? I have a guide in the dev section that preaches the correct methods to flashing. you really think I would make a post like my previous without covering my bases? JellyBean is not substantially better... The bottom line is battery life is far worse on jellybean. the touch screen is less accurate and sometimes takes multiple touches to respond. Like I said im sure these couple minor issues will be corrected in the official release.

Haha I figured lol. Yea I disabled media scanner and all that, battery life is tolerable but nothing like what I was getting on beans ICS. My main gripe with Jellybean is how less responsive and accurate the touch screen is. Its also this way on AOSP. Lets say you open the browser and log on to xda. If you try and tap the little arrow that jumps to the last post, it will take 3-4 tries. On ICS the touchscreen accuracy is pinpoint. I browse the web alot thru the browser, so thats a big issue for me. Everything else including the media is not a big deal...I guess I could of been a little more clear on that in my previous post.

Have you tried the ROM that Alex posted? It is just the stock deoxed version with nothing extra added, but is working great for me. I have yet to see the first issue with this ROM. Battery is about the same as ICS but the signal its noticeably better. I now have service in places that I was having trouble with before. Touch screen is very responsive with no lag and its very accurate and registers the moment I touch the screen.
Hopefully, they will release the final build soon so that everyone can get some JB love!
Edit: I have been running this ROM since the day it was released. The battery was pretty bad for the 1st day. Other than that, all was/is good.

I'm not seeing the issues you reported. Battery life on the S3 is great as a whole, although I do carry and extra battery (Qcell - I actually use two and never use the OEM battery). I've noticed absolutely no change in battery life to speak of. I did a full wipe from JellyBomb to Jellywiz Rls 11, dirty flashed 12, no issues.
Everything is buttery smooth for me. No lag or lack of sensitivity. My only complaint is the notification bug on the lockscreen. Every time I received a text, the lock screen would show the tutorial again. That's easily fixed by freezing some system apps.
I don't think I'll ever run another ICS rom again. JB will only get better.

I'm curious did you go back to stock ICS or stock JB(ie. the JB leak that has been minimally tampered with Jellywiz11 or this version here ). I have found that both of these, essentially only modified by rooting, are superior to any of the heavily custimized roms out there.
Of the heavily modded roms I've tried Jellywiz12, CleanRom 4.0 and SynergyROM. Of the 3, I would argue that CleanRom 4.0 is the least impresseive in terms of stability and performance. IMO SynergyROM is currently the leader in the clubhouse, though Jellywiz12 isn't too far behind.
Its strange how experiences can vary so greatly from device to device. In honesty Ive been running Clean ROM 4.0 for days and have noticed no increased battery drain, lack of touch screen precision, data connection problems, GPS problems, or lag of any kind. My phone is the fastest its ever been.
For me its been the best ROM Ive ever run.
It is weird how experiences differ from device to device. I flashed the jelly bean leak from Incubus (rl 11) and I have had no issues. Battery life seems normal with the display taking up most of the usage which is normal. GPS works great...everything works great...no issues. I just installed the leaked rom and did not flash any new or different radios. I'm still on HE

Hi, I was wondering what in your opinion is the most stable JB rom? My parents and I all have a Skyrcocket, and they have been on CM9 for a while now. They don't know much about how to use their phones, so that is why I got them a stable version of CM9 last summer, while I have been on JB since it came out.
I have tried a wide variety of JB roms, but I know how to use them all well and what to do in case of most issues, even minor ones such as having no connectivity on reboot. My parents however get really confused when stuff like this happens, and don't even think to reboot, even though I have told them about how to fix it numerous times. On the CM9 they have, stuff like this never happens and it all is pretty stable.
However, my mom recently started having random problems on CM9, so i upgraded her to the latest stable CM10 and installed gapps, UCLK4 radio, which works the best for me, and lightning zap kernel. Now she is having weird problems like her camera not working due to the error 'no external storage present,' which i have encountered on another jb rom before, and reflashed a different one to fix it. i just tried slim bean 3.1 for a while to test for her, and i get weird stuff like the no connectivity on boot issue i mentioned before, which can be fixed with a reboot, but is too big of a problem for my parents to handle. i also tried cm9 the latest nightly just yesterday, and am experiencing some weird minor issues as well.
i even thought about going back to ics, although she would prefer to upgrade if possible. and i thought about flashing the latest att jb leak, but i figured that would most likely have even more issues, haha.
so does anyone think there is a jb rom out now that is as stable as cm9 ics was? thanks!
Just put them back to stock. You're nuts putting a custom rom on someone's phone who isn't into the issues they have. They all have something that doesn't work as you'd expect.

I think you have to read through the threads and see which one(s) fit your needs best, then try those ROMs for yourself instead of starting a best thread.

I'm with you, i like official roms, I personally like HTC phones before using my skyrocket (ROMS work great on HTC and stock ROMS are also great), the official ICS on skyrocket sucks big time (to laggy), but I still like it better than custom.

Install official ICS to them, no more problems, but on the downside, a lot of lag will be present!!!
From the moderator
DO your research on this as it really is a personal decision. As stated by others all roms have something that is buggy. My personal take if they are not into customizing but want good battery life, and the basics to work well and do not need a bunch of bells and whistles you might try AOKP roms as they work well and are easy to configure for a novice.
That said, there are way to many "Best rom" threads..... So

I know... It is a nightly so I'm not fussed about it but if it is just me, I'll look into fixing it on my end but if others are having issues with that ROM then I"ll probably flash back to the 18th or something.

There is another thread for cm10.1 issues and whatnot, its not a big deal to me, but I've seen people freak out! Haha
Anyways, lately there's been a lot of issues with the nightlies lately. The new CM (around march 18th) came with a new kernel version, from version 3.0ish or something to 3.43 ish?? Anyways, the new kernel fixed some issues, but also caused some new issues since its still fairly new from my understanding. I've had one system ui force close, and MANY freezes. Also, there for a while it would freeze during calls, but I haven't had one of those for a while now.
