Hi,
I have a Chinese copy of a Samsung Galaxy S3, the sticker says SMART OS Model I9300+ Android ICS I think its the same model as the HDC 19300?, it has 1.2 Cortex processor and the drivers for it on windows says its the MediaTec MT6577. I managed to get it rooted without too many problems.
The problem I have is that I managed to mess up the phone part of the phone, in error I uninstalled Phone.Apk and Telephony Provider. After copying these files back in to system root and changing permissions to rw r r the phone part of Android still did not respond and kept force closing when trying to load these apks, so I did a full factory reset that also did not help.
After looking around on this forum I followed instructions on how to push these apps back in to system app via adb I used shell to gain root permissions then pushed the two apps back in to the system app folder, this worked. However, did not fix the problem, the phone is no longer force closing, but does not attempt to load the phone part of the phone and there is also a message that says that the messaging service has stopped responding.
I have an app installed called system app remover, the phone and telephony provider apks are listed as disabled, enabling them does nothing when you restart they go back to being disabled.
I am now thinking that there maybe other files missing and/or I have totally messed everything up and the only option is to re-flash. The problem is that I am unable to find any kind of ROM for it.
The questions I have are:
What apks control the phone function of the phone?
Does anyone have a full set of Apks for the phone functions?
Is there anything else apart from changing permissions should I be doing after pushing apks to the system apps folder?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Quick update. Its actually the MT6577_S00 running Android 4.09 Not 75. Hope someone will be able to help?
Cheers
Another quick one. Noticed that the TelephonyProvider.APK does not have an ODEX file installed in the system apps folder. Is this the reason?
Cheers

I'm also facing almost similar issue with same device type...
Rooted it without much efforts, everything is working fine except Phone Dialer
whenever i try to make a call, it gives an error message "The system is not authorized will automatically shut down" and Dialer stop responding, have to click "Yes" and Dialer closed.... (Screen short attached)
Also tried by installing other dialer apps, they call same program in background, and it shows the error msg..
Please help...
Use SP Flash tool to flash the stock rom back on the phone.
You need someone with the same phone who can extract the rom for you.
Please post full manufacturer and phone model so anyone who sees this and has the same phone can do this for you.

Hi, everyone
I hope that I am in the right part for posting? I am new to this android thing.
I am trying to find a how to root idea usa 7" tablet from fry's for $77.00. Their is a lot of rooting programs but I have not been able to find anything on this model.
Also what would be a good rom to flash it with? I tried finding out if uberoid and cyanogenmod would work but I could not find any info on this model.
Not to sure what model I have that I would be able to flashing this rom with, either uberoid or CM7? Help
Model: MID, sv7206 v1.4, kernel 2.6.35.7-infotm
processor armv6 rev5,
hardware imapx200,
android 2.3.3,
brand infotmic,
display gri40,
release codename REL
bootloader unknown
I don't know if this is the right model IDea USA IUMID-0071 because the spec's are off. Http ://ideausa.us/produects.html but similar. I am looking for rom that is more update/modern. any potters?
Does anyone have the original rom for this or know how to make a backup this rom?
Well I am thinking that is might be this model but not to sure wm8650,SV7206 v1.4 or IDea USA IUMID-0071.
It's not flytouch
The screen is very slow on this model. Unless you use a pen then is works better.
Also hoping to be able to flash this to ics 4
Thanks
I just bought one, too. What a pos? it works but the screen is almost unusable, lots of mis-fires.
I did figure-out the real OEM web-page,
http://www.sinovideo.com.cn/Products/indexshow.asp?lang=EN&SortID=61&ID=85
This correctly identifies the installed 2.3 OS and reveals that it's some kind of 1 GHz processor. The real performance problem, however, is the 256 MB of memory, ouch!
I have not had any luck finding any updated ROMs. Actually, I suspect the installed ROM is tweaked to work around the defective screen (I think it's configured to ignore any 'touch' lasting less than 0.5 second?) so I'm not going to change it.
---------- Post added at 08:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:49 AM ----------
FYI - I found another site that has lots of discussion about the "M7206" tablet
http://www.techknow.t0xic.nl/forum/index.php?board=51.0
Here's some more info. (Yes, I have continued to investigate even though I bad-mouthed it )
- This tablet is also sold as the "infotmic m7206"
- the screen works MUCH better if you use a stylus
Currently, my tablet seems to be getting about 24 hr standby battery-life, and the battery-usage report says "Cell standby" is using 75%, even though there's no cell radio? Some of the discussion on the techknow forum seems to be about this same issue but all the solutions seem to involve rolling your own ROM, which I'm not prepared to do. For now I just plan on leaving the tablet plugged-in overnight.
Rooting Idea USA Tablet
Oh my, what a mess...
This post is in regards to the Idea USA Tablet (Unable to Root)
My specs:
- Idea USA Tablet (Made in China)
- Model Number: MID (Unknown)
- Android Version: 2.3
- Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7
- Build Number: MID-userdebug 2.3 GRH55 (ENG)
Issues:
Whelp, I have tried the basics and I can't get this thing to root for anything. I was able to get it to hook into the PC through USB. There are 2 usb slots on the side of the tablet. I believe one is for HOST and the other usb is for OTG (Charging). Once I figured out the host port, then I had to download the drivers for this poorly made tablet...But, what drivers? You go to the Idea US website and you get no helpful information. So, there are no drivers made specifically for this $100 dollar generic tablet from FRY's. Ok... No big deal... So, I download the default "Android USB Drivers".
Peachy, it worked! Now, I can transfer files back and forth between the card(s). Wonderful, first step down, next step was to root. So, I read up on how to root with Super One Click.
Ok, so now, I set the tablet to "USB Storage" and "Host"...Then I download and run Super One Click.
Ok, I run the "Super One Click v.2.3.3"; by clicking the root button and then all I get is a frozen screen that reads:
Code:
Killing ADB Server.... Kill Server 0.11s
Starting ADB Server.... StartServer 4.09s * daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037* *daemon started successfully*
And then it just freezes the program. So, now I'm completely stuck. I mean I learned a great deal, that I can hook up a keyboard, mouse, etc to this thing, but, obviously Super One Click was not designed for these generic tablets. I have read other articles which have suggested that the .inf driver for the default "Android USB Drivers" needs to be edited for your specific tablet model and you must enter the specific CODE# for it to recognize for rooting with Super One Click... But, god forbid, I haven't found any useful information on where that might be. Also, someone suggested to install the Android SDK and edit those files along with the .inf files to make this work. But, that didn't work either. I did everything right. I turned off USB debugging and then I would wait for super one click to come up with waiting for device...but that never happened. I even tried it with USB debugging on... still nothing.
Has anyone created a generic batch program to root these types of devices? What am I doing wrong here?
Rooting Idea USA Tablet
Well, this took me all night to read and learn about how to root this basic tablet from Fry's.
First off, I tried many different things and it just didn't work. Using super one click is definitely out of the question for this particular tablet.
I read all night and thankfully found the forum article on how to solve this issue on xdadevelopers own forum.
As per quoted quotes below:
.....You can use gingerbreak to root this. Run it once and let it reboot, then use supermanager free from market to rename the su symlink from /bin/ to "old" or something, and reboot again.
You should now have root ........ It might take a couple of trys but it works.
You need to download supermanager from the market. Enable root in supermanager settings and click yes when superuser pops up.
Then use the file explorer within supermanager to navigate to the /bin/ directory and you will find a sysmlink called su
You need to rename this su symlink to old - completely take out the name su.
Just to be safe run gingerbreak again and then you can install busybox from market.

Thank you so much Pablo11. The idea is to download the APK for GingerBreak from online onto your IDEA USA tablet directly. The trick here is that the brand name is IDEA "USA", but the real workings behind the "MID" is "ViMicro". You will notice that displayed as you turn on your tablet. So, in order to find real information about your MID device, you have to search articles for vimicro.
Once you run gingerbreak, your tablet will go completely nuts. Nothing will run right. Things will break and it will be a complete mess. It will however, install superuser apk. However, it will not work. You can download the Root Checker from the market and you will notice it is NOT rooted. So...thanks to pablo11, you will want to download supermanager from the google play market. Install it.
Next go into the supermanager settings and click on ROOT. Make sure root is enabled and checked marked in the settings. When you enable root in the settings, it will prompt you with "allow root?" Click on Yes. This will give you the access you need.
But, your not done, once again as per Pablo11, go to the super managers file manager section. Get to the root directory by clicking up, and then find the folder "bin". Look for the file "SU" and rename this to "old".
Now, you will be able install busybox and any thing else thats root.
By the way, restart your tablet again, and I "personally" recommend that you go into your settings> Privacy> Check mark both (Backup my data and Automatic Restore) and then click on Factory data reset. Start the tablet from like it was brand new. Don't worry it will keep the root that you did intact. You will just have to re-register the tablet with your existing gmail that you originally used with that tablet.
Lastly, use the root checker from the market and you will see that it is successfully rooted.
Okay... Now, my next step. To crack open this tablet and put in a bigger SD Card as the 2G SDCARD is way too small, especially if you want to use new roms and install a linux operating system onto it....
Hello everyone,
I bought this tablet on ebay and it seems that the ROM preinstalled is a test ROM.
I searched the web to find a custom ROM but I couldn't find much info.
I found the way to root the tablet but that's all.
Is there anyone who can indicate me a link to a stock rom or a good custom one?
Thanks for those who will read and help!
What do you mean by TEST ROM?!!! this is ridiculous, I have the tablet and it's working like a charm even I received over air update yesterday, the only odd is that I can't use it as a phone because Lenovo has no license yet for that it's available only in the Chinese version, and I think this will be solved later when they start launching their mobile phones all over the world.
Hello mmis,
Test rom is not the correct terms but I didn't know how to call that !
The problem is that every widget I put on the desktop is loading but never display anything.
The information in "About tablet" are the following :
Model number : IdeaTab A2107A-H
Android Version : 4.0.3
Baseband version : MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V13, 2012/05/25 01:09
Build number : A2107A-H_S307_120605
If I search for system updates, it doesn't find anything. If I click on firmware update, the settings FC.
I made a factory reset but no luck.
That's why I thought it wasn't a stable version.
As long as you tried the factory reset with no luck, I think in your case its better to get back to Lenovo customer service or your local dealer if it's under warranty, they should be able to help you. it's a new device in the market and it will be difficult to find custom ROM for a while or even someone to give model-specific help. Good Luck
Would you mind linking to the instructions on how to root this thing?
Sure, no problem !
After several hours of search and difficulties to register onto Chinese websites
I managed to find the attached file. I take no credit for the tool because it was developped by someone else (SNARL I guess)
It was missing the superuser apk inside so I put it back and also translate the steps to English.
Here are the steps :
- Connect the tablet in Debug USB mode
- Launch root.bat
- The device will reboot at each of the 3 steps
If you need more info, don't mind to ask!

LePad Chinese Model A2107A-H
I have a Chinese issue model of the A2107A-H that has the dual sim card cellular feature. I've been trying to get it rooted to get rid of the Chinese apks on it, but normal rooting software has not been successful so far, including the one posted here from SNARL via Ichi go's post. I get a "device not found" error message and in device manager on my PC it indicates that there is no driver installed for the device. I have "debug" turned on and the USB link seems to be working as I can see file folders on the device, but the rooting software will not run. I've tried several of the most well known methods with no luck. Any ideas on this would be appreciated and in particular, if there is a driver I need to have installed to get the rooting software to work??
TIA!!!
Rob
First of all many thanks to you ichi go it was very easy to root this device as instructed, but as the one I have does not have the phone calling capability, I replaced the phone.apk with different one but now the device does not recognize the sim card at all, I tried to push many versions of phone.apk to system folder with no luck, it seems even if I put the apk in the system folder the device will not launch it at all, could you please help me in that.
I've had this tablet for a while and love it. I just got the OTA update and its downloading now.
I'm a also keen on rooting it and inns installing a custom ROM. I guess once its a bit more common, we can expect a dedicated Dev community here on XDA
The update failed to install. I'm not rooted or anything but upon restart it gave a signature verification error.
Any way to fix this?
Edit: got it! was a path error since i had changed the default storage.
but i can't figure out any changes

How does your device appear in the device manager? For sure, the adb driver isn't installed. If it's not the case, download android sdk and then the Google USB driver in the extra section.

The in-dash car tablet people should be happy to hear the A2107 has an FM Tuner. It's one of the few tablets that has a radio tuner, and the only modern 7" that I know of. I just ordered one. I will report back.

So I understood that you managed to flash the Chinese stock ROM, am I right?!! please tell me how to do as I am facing serious problems with my device, I managed to root and then I changed the phone.apk (what the hell I was thinking of) and now I have the the error message android.process.acore stopped working and sometimes the sittings force closed, I tried to re root, factory reset and deleting cache of almost everything with no use, even I contacted the Lenovo CS to reinstall the original firmware, I think they will charge me for that :crying:
by the way I don't have contacts anymore (I installed it manually) and the most impressive thing that the device doesn't recognize the SIM card (I cleverly deleted the original one phone.apk :silly and what ever apk I push into the system/app folder and change the permissions it will not install after reboot.
So...what do you think guys?!! any help?
I've confirmed this does work on the A2107-F.
I had some trouble with the ADB driver. I can't post links, so you will have to google it, but I used adb_driver_20110720.zip for the drivers. I forced it to install via Update Driver > Browse my computer > let me pick > have disk > pointed to the android_winusb.inf file > selected the thinkpad option, it was the bottom of the two.
I also had to manually turn the tablet back on after the first reboot, but it went fine after that.

Hi mmis,
I will upload tonight (if i have the time to) all the needed files to install the Chinese ROM (tools and procedure included).
Btw, I managed to install all the Google services and all is working well! The only thing is that the OS can only be put in English. All other languages are Chinese variants.
Hi I just flash tablet with a chinesse rom A2107A_H_S121_120525 and right now the device don't turning on anymore. The flashing is still possible. So I need a stock rom please
I bought a chinese phone Telsda/TSD A198 . The firmware reports it as an MT6589 CPU but the computer reports it as a spreadtrum phone. I need to root the phone to get rid of some apps on this to make space. Also without rooting is there anyway to backup the stock rom on my phone before I mess up to root? I have seen a method on XDA but that requires root. Now I am trying to backup to get to rooot !!!! Also I have also researched researchdownload but without a ROM backup and not knowing which CPU model to flash its impossible to it right. I also looked into mtkdroidtools and it tells me "unstructured rom backup not possible" , so I am guessing its a fake MTK CPU that is being reported by tweaking the firmware.
This is the link to the phone
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-...3-MTK6589-4-0-INCH-smart-phone/879312434.html
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
I also interesting for this phone, but I have some doubt about the specs of this item. If you could clear some important properties for me, such as:
Does it have GPS functionality?
If not, this indirectly indicates that CPU is not MTK-based (likely Spreadtrum SC6820 if 3G functionality is absent or Spreadtrum SC8810 if it is present)
What is the real width of the phone?
It seems to me it is about 64mm, not 60.8 (as described in seller specs)
What is the RAM size?
Does it have 256 or 512MB RAM?
What is the real Andriod version?
Does it have Android 2.3.X disguised as Android 4.X.X?
I will be grateful for your response.

Ok, first my honest suggestion dont buy this phone it has pathetic performance. For the same price go for a real MTK6577 dual core. ANyways below are the answers to your question
> Real CPU frequence seems to be 1GHZ
>Mali 300 GPU
>no 3G
>no GPS
>256MB RAM and 256 MB ROM
>I am not sure if its real JB and I cant figure it out but it says JB 4.2.1 and the kernel is 2.6.35.7 and hence I guess its a fake JB. The funny part is under baseband version it says "MT6589 1.5GHZ quad cores" !!!! offcourse it means the firmware/build.prop has been tweaked and is reporting false values. Also when I ran Antutu it gives a score of about 3500 which is useless when compared to what is required to run games ..etc. I hope I have helped.
Thank you much - you helped me to avoid hasty purchase. And good luck in rooting your device.

So 4.2.1 or 4.0.4 for me is not important. I am new in the firmware of the phone (did the firmware only the tablet). Thankful for step by step instructions from the specialist. While I couldn't even get the root.:silly:

ok looks like lot of people have issues with this phone. Its a junk phone, all fake stuff on it. ANyways I will upload the firmware images and then you guys can use those to flash on your phones. Below is what I have done
1> Patched a 4.0.4 ROM which works perfectly
2>Removed useless preinstalled apps
3>rooted
4>Perfectly working dual sim,GPRS,WIFI,Camera,Camcorder .,..etc etc
4>The issue is with the IMEI, because of the way its stored you guys will need to use your own NV files.
The only thing I havent been able to do is get a working CWM, but you dont need it as you can flash the firmware images using researchdownload.
Braindia, you even pierced smartphone using researchdownload? Maybe I need a USB driver or researchdownload? What have you used? I can't understand how to enable the firmware on this phone: food & + -test menu; food & - picture with your phone and the triangle, but windows does not find the device driver.

Here you go, you flash at your own risk. If there are bricks/issues you are responsible for your own device.(Standard disclaimer) . I have uploaded all the files except system and NV, system image is kind of big and I am trying to figure it out where to upload it.. You dont need to worry about NV unless you completely erased the flash(never erase the complete flash or format it). If you havent done so then you are good to go.
Please google to find researchdownload and use it to flash the attached files. I wont be able to write the tutorial on using researchdownload so google is your friend.
I have also uploaded the gapps zip which will get you up and running with google play store. You need root to copy these files directly into system/apps folder.
I will be able to upload a system file which works, not the patched one with google play store, root ...etc etc . You do that on your own, I will help you do it.
Thanks !
Tutorial researchdownload not needed. I installed the USB driver and researchdownload. When the phone is loaded, I can connect it to your computer . BUT when I try to flash the phone with the help of researchdownload I need to enable firmware on your phone. In the mode of firmware (if I understand it correctly) phone is not detected by Windows. I wanted to know what USB drivers and version researchdownload used you, and as included mode firmware on your phone.
I have the original firmware.

your phone is probably not detected due to 2 reasons
1> windows disabling non signed driver.. if thats the issue while you start the PC keep hitting F8 you will be shown various options
Select disable windows driver signature enforcement
2> Second reason is you need to add an entry in adb_usb.ini file I think its 0x1782 which is for SPRD enumerator. There are tons of links for this one of which is

Possible causes checked. NO 1 and NO 2 Everything correctly, but still not working. To go the other way, I've tried about 10 of options to get the root, but the result is zero. You got root?

getting root is simple, flash a CWM I have attached one, please note this does not work but it works enough to get you root. follow the below steps
1> Flash attached recovery
2> boot into recovery ... this will not show the normal CWM options but dont worry just connect to your pc
3> run ADB shell, you will be automatically in root mode
4> perform mount /system and then exit shell
5> push su binary & busybox directly to /system/bin (from the command prompt using adb push)
6>change permissions for su & busybox to make them runnable
7> exit from the shell and reboot
8> do adb install superuser.apk(optional this can be done later)
thats it you have su, and then you can sideload the superuser apk or you can do step 8 as above. Once you have rebooted and verified that you indeed have superuser you can flash the stock recovery back on the phone.
Note note note : The CWM recovery image is only for you to get root and it doesnt work and doesnt show the normal CWM options... you have been warned. You should flash your old recovery/stock recovery after you have achieved root.
Also can you give me the stock recovery image so that I can build a working CWM out of it. I overwrote mine and now stuck with another recovery which works but is not for this phone.
Thanks

error:device not fround
TADAN
I have a magic smartphone. In recovery he annihilated.

Hmm... I am not sure what is the issue please try attached drivers and pray that they work . use either 64bit or 32bit depending on your OS.
Also you said you have the firmware can you upload it ? I can do something more with the stock/original firmware, so please upload it
I installed a different driver for windowsXP and windows7, but the result is the same. Too much time for 54$. I buried this smartphone. So good luck to you on the path to custom firmware. One month firmware will be available my personal archive: http://files.mail.ru/A9FBE04381094135959559784E5F49A4

Thanks ... I know this phone is a waste of time and money both. I am just using this phone as an experiment platform knowing fully well that this piece of junk will die anytime.
Hi guys, so i thought i would have a play with the cozyswan S400 android box, having only played slightly with an android phone upto until around 2 weeks ago i didn't actually know what ADB was
The specs are
RK3188 quad core A9 1.8GHZ
2GB/8GB
Anywho, it started off as wanting to install XBMC with a few items, most of them gave me script errors which i found annoying. I like things to work so i figured i would do some googling (This is actually the 5th tab i have up from googling which leads to XDA, hence why i finally decided to sign up) and rip the ROM and fix errors while emulating aswell as set the base rom to my own
The main problem i had was even connecting to the device through ADB, after research i found that it would be found through "TPSarky-VonDroid-Root new" which worked brilliantly, although it only seems to have basic commands, i managed to pull some files but i'm pretty sure it's unrooted
So my quest to root the box, now takes me to superoneclick, but it uses the ADB with graphics interface, but of course the device can't be found on the standard adb install i tried and it crashed, so i tried merging the "VonDroid-Root new" with the superoneclick folder and the same happens.
So now i have numerous programs including ADB, superoneclick, VonDroid-Root, cywign, kitchen...actually i have lost count of how many android related programs i have
So any help for a fast learning newbie, i have acquired all of this knowledge in the past couple of weeks but i am stuck on this headache of getting ADB to recognise the box despite the fact it recognises my phone as soon as it's plugged in :silly:
So to update....in the time i have had no replies
After more research the device is based on the MK802 chip
so in order to get it rooted i followed this...
http://www.rikomagic.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2574
then in order to get a Rom dump i followed this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771347
and now i'm at CMD where it is saying "all done"
but feel free to add anything helpful:laugh:
I have another question!
if i preinstalled software the config files are held at SDcard\android
how would i build the rom in such a way that the config files would be restored to the location on SDcard when "restore to factory settings"was used?
Can anyone help with me with the above? with my dumped rom i have
app
bin
data
etc
fonts
framework
lib
lost+found
media
system
tts
usr
vendor
xbin
boot
build.prop
I cannot see anywhere that would copy files to sdcard on restore, there is no mnt, storage folder and as much as i have looked i cannot see a zip file etc or config that would unzip to the sdcard on restore?
So I rooted my old FireHD 6 perfectly using this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-hd/general/how-to-downgrade-to-4-5-3-root-device-t3139351
It was my first time ever trying the do a root and it worked perfectly! I then installed System App Remover (ROOT) to clear some remaining Amazon apps out. It seems I selected some system apps by accident and hit remove. This totally screwed everything up in the OS as expected and I was very annoyed at myself for not double checking my selection. So these deleted apps are sitting in the recycle bin of SAR and I CAN restore them I assume? The only problem is that my tablet does boot up, but you can't select hardly anything and my screen is just a black background flashing when plugged into USB. It accepts commands form ADB, but I need to somehow restore the whole thing or open this app remotely via ADB. There's no options in recovery to reinstall the firmware either.
Can anyone help me with my weird issue? Pretty please?
P.S I'm new so if I have missed any information please say. I have also tried the unbrick floating around via Linux, but it doesn't load on my PC. I don't think it is totally bricked though obviously.
