After odining back to root66 and trying to install PA, I cant make or receive calls or use data. My IMEI is all still there and everything in phone status looks normal to me. Could you guys think of anything? I'm a little nervous. I've also backed up my imei a few different ways including the most recent one.
UPDATE: I just tried to re provision using the dialer code and still nothing.
I'll try odinging back to stock again. And my Imei, Iccid, eveything is still there.

i have newer version of captivate with gps fixed but few days ago it stopped sending text message although it can still receive text messages.
normally after sending message, it usually displays time stamp under the text but when it does not work it just displays "sending" as status indefinitely.
phone is rooted and has gingerbread i believe.
I also called customer center service and they did not see any issue from the point of service provider.
Anyone has experienced the issue? Thanks,
I'd have them check again to make sure that text is setup right on your account.
Beyond that what have you changed recently. Typically something like texting wont just stop working on the phone without something having been changed.
Is the ROM that's on there one you flashed? If so back it up, reflash to a clean state and see if text works. Then restore a bit at a time and see when it fails.

somebody also had this problem and he did a factory reset and he was able to send messages again but he is saying that he has lost his root although it's not possible
here is the link to thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540652
DID factory reset and now can send message. but cant root it back. crappy phone. tried from both of my laptop and desktop machine using odin v1.81. problem never gets around captivate.
Do the heimdall flash of KK4 or Apex ROM. Same as stock, but with root and all the problems gone.
I was downloading something, updated adfree, and all of a sudden, I couldn't connect to the internet. I toggled airplane mode, and it read zero bars in places I always had service. I checked with an iPhone 4S, I got full bars, but with my Infuse, it just didn't get signal at all. I tried to check the APNs menu, but when I opened APNs, it just sent me back to the normal settings.
I figured I would just flash a different ROM. Didn't work, still no service. Restored from backup, didn't work. Odined back to Froyo AND GB stock, neither worked. No matter what I do, I'm stuck without the radio. Help!
Delete whatever you were downloading, delete ad-free, wipe data, cache, and dalvik and reflash modem from ISET page. If that does not work it is likely you have a hardware problem. (warranty repair if still in first 12 months)
So first things first, I was running Synergy r73 fine for a few days, beautifully even.
Then today out of the blue without changing anything, my phone had some brief freezing issues and then I could no longer send texts or outgoing calls. I am still receiving texts, and my data connections work perfectly, but when I try to send a message I just get a "failed" notification a few seconds later. When trying to call out I just get nothing and then the call ends after 20 seconds or so.
I tried a battery pull, sim reseating, data/cache reset, and I even used ODIN to go back to the stock VRALHD rom. Still having the same problem.
I can't call Verizon support until tomorrow and all the retail stores in the county close on Sundays, so I figured posting here in the meantime couldn't hurt.
I had the same exact issue and had to go all the way back to VRALF2, following the stickied guide, and once I did that I had to dial the reprovision code. I can't remember the code off of the top of my head but it is posted all over the place. I would try that first and if it doesn't work then go all the way back stock. Also get the Phone Info app, open it and go into Device information and on the little drop down box make sure LTE/CDMA/EvDO is selected. Do those two things and see if that doesn't solve the problem, and if not then you may have to go all the way back to the first stock ROM like I did, hopefully you won't though!

I checked the radio mode with the phone info app and it's what it should be. I guess I'll be doing another odin flash. Hope it works
EDIT: Going back to the older stock flash didn't work either, even after doing the reprovision code :-/
I guess I'll be making a trip to the store tomorrow
New phone is in and working perfectly. I do miss some of the aspects of the Synergy mod, but now I'm hesitant to re-rom it. Is it even remotely possible that rooting and installing a rom can cause this issue to happen several days after installing?
In phone info make sure it is set to LTE/CDMA/EVDO
I have not been able to send texts using vrbmf1 firmware since it has been released. Everything else works fine.
I have been using aosp ROMs pretty much since they first came out. I have tried everything, besides a TW rom to get it to work.
I always just get pissed and flash back to mb1 and boom, I can text again. Weird stuff. Frustrating because data and signal does seem to be better on MF1!
Over the last few months I have tried redownloading the modems, pulling my sim, full wipe, cache wipe, clearing messaging data, reinstalling my messaging app, and even doing a little dance.
My phone hates vrbmf1. If anyone has an idea, or has ran into this problem before I'd appreciate some help!
bump. anyone have any ideas? would the next step be trying to go back to stock? been so long since i have been on TW i dont even remember how to use odin anymore haha.
i thought the new baseband might fix it but it does the same thing. sometimes texts get out, but most of the time they just hang forever at sending.... i flash back to MB1 and they send right away. on cm11
what am i missing out on by not running the latest firmware?
I have the same problem, it works fine after resetting but after a few days it doesnt work if i text with the country code
Hello everyone,
My phone is currently unable to make or receive phone calls. Outbound calls show "dialing" for about 30 seconds then end. Incoming calls go straight to voicemail. My data and text messages work just fine. I have odined back to stock unrooted and factory reset and the problem persists. Is there anything else I can check or anything else I can do to try to get my phone portion to work?
Thank you for your help.

have you tried flashing stock kernel and stock modem? Is your IMEI still intact? I would try to ODIN flash ICS onto the phone, then let the phone contact Verizon and upgrade itself to JB.
I tried to flash stock roms and still receive the same problem. took it to verizon and they changed some switches on their end but could not fix it.
My advice to you is to wipe/data factory reset from stock recovery, then Odin back to the very first ICS firmware and take all of the OTA's. If the problem is still happening, you might need to take it back to verizion and get a new phone. Just make sure you reset flash counter.
Was there any resolution on this? I'm searching for the answer to the same problem.
This is still a problem for me. I went back to stock then took the OTA for 4.3. Same problem. Funny thing happened. One day i received a phone call out of the blue and it actually connected on my phone. For the next 3 days my phone was working just fine. On the 4th day I could no longer receive or make phone calls again and my phone was back to its broken state.
I also noticed that while my phone is unable to make or receive phone calls the battery drains extremely fast (4 hours on full charge with moderate use). My phone is always running hot as well.
This is no longer just a problem with phone calls but is causing me to charge my phone 4 times a day.
