Yes
Edit: just tried again. Didn't have the option. I'm on Aokp. Thought it worked in the past. I'm on Wi-Fi only right now maybe that makes a difference.

i am akop m6 number 5 i heard u needed "You must be using your carrier’s network (3G/4G), not wireless.
You must purchase from Google Play on your device, not on the web.
You must be in good standing with your carrier and have not exceeded your carrier’s cap on monthly spending.
Your device/service plan must be opted in for premium content purchases.
Your device must be provisioned for use with direct carrier billing."
i am not sure about the last two also i have over 1gb data useable. My plan is the 2gb used to be 5gb as my phone is home alot http://support.google.com/googlepla...topic=1046718&hlrm=en&answer=167794&ctx=topic

"Desire HD" launched on Telus today

I just read over on android central that the desire HD launched on telus today here in Canada. It is most likely an inspire since telus uses ATT frequencies. This could be an option to those who want to avoid all the ATT bloatware

Should also be able to pull the modem from it as well to enable HSUPA.

This is what I care about^^^ The bloatware is easy to remove, I'm just worried about u/l and d/l. Damn att always trying to cripple any phone other than an iPhone.... This year will be the big year for them to change...
I have it:

So can we get a step-by-step guide on how to achieve this? (for noobs like me)

Google play payment

Okay so when I tried downloading the tapatalk app from Google play and selected carrier billing things went awry. I wanted to finally try it out but I got an email saying my purchase was cancelled. I'm a new user here so I'm apologizing in advance cause I'm probably doing at least one thing wrong. Using a pretty much stock ics rom, deodexed and zipaligned, all that good stuff, stock kernel, rooted. Don't know if any of that makes a difference but there you go.
After receiving that email any further attempts to download rezult in a weird server error message, pic included

Open up the play store and hit the menu button (the first one on the left at the bottom) and uncheck update over wifi only. If that box is checked the play store will not communicate with your carrier. Also be sure your mobile data is own. I had the same problem trying to charge to ATT and that is what worked for me.....

I had to set up a Google Wallet account. I use that for my Play store purchases now.

Unlimited data scam

The old thread was deleted (for good reason) but just wanted to remind everyone that any product or service for sale that claims it can get you unlimited data on the Verizon network is a scam. I've seen these products on Amazon, Ebay, and Facebook.

I'm due to go to cuba tomorrow and would like to know if there is an east way to restrict my one x to only phone calls and txts.

I think with data roaming turned off you should be good to go.
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
And Mobile Network on the first screen, you can turn it off and you will never have data connection. As posted above, data roaming is off by default. So you won't incurre roaming data costs.
It's not just data, International roaming call and text will cost you an arm and leg too.

Cell tower blacklisting on Android?

I know people have asked about focusing on a specific tower and I can see how and why that would be impossible, but I have a slightly different problem so I'm looking to take the blacklist approach.
Basically, I have moved over to FreedomPop which is a VoIP service with free data. The problem is I keep connecting to a particular couple towers locally with no data connection, not 3G or 4G, which makes the connection useless. I want to blacklist the towers with no data.
My phone is rooted and Xposed is installed, if that can help. My thought basically is to identify the tower(s) and nuke them from the home list or PRL, wherever it's hiding. Is this possible?
Thank you.
