All thanks goes to CM7 group for making their boot animation. I'm new to android and while waiting for a good custom rom to appear. I decided to look at custom roms for other phones. Then I found CM7's rom and saw it in action. I love their boot animation. So I will upload the boot animation for CM7 fans here.
Requirements:
Rooted phone
File explorer with root access and making folders R/W
Download:

Steps:
1. Download the zip file.
2. Put the zip file in your sd card.
3. Open up your file explorer on your phone copy the zip file on your SD card and go to /system/customize/resource.
4. Before you press paste make sure you make a back up of your original boot animation just look for TMUS_Animation.zip and you could just rename it to TMUS_Animation.bak.
5. Paste it and reboot to see the boot animation.

Does anyone know how to change the boot animation on the gingerbread infinity rom? I tried using rom toolbox app to change the boot animation. It succesfully installs it but the animation never changes. Any clues on how to fix it or other methods?
yes you can download a different boot animation and rename it to bootanimation.zip
Then with root explorer move the file to system/media.Replace the original one (remeber to back it up) and just reboot

search in the internet for a bootanimation of your choice (or extract it from another rom)
on your phone go to: system/media/bootanimation.zip,
(rename "bootanimation.zip"to whatever.zip).
now in system/media put the new bootanimation.zip you downloaded,
make sure is .zip and named bootanimation ,reboot your phone Enjoy.

I've made my first boot animation for MDPI devices. I tried to made nice-looking light boot animation to some older devices as my Xperia X8 or LG GT-540. The result isn't great but it looks nice
There are two versions:
bootanimation.zip - copy this file to system/media and replace current bootanimation
update-CM9-Bootanimation-320x480.zip - ClockworkMod update (much easier to apply)
Remember to copy old one! And this might brick your device. as all stuff here

Hi there: silly question: can i use it if i don't have CyanogenMod? am using my stock rom (am waiting for the stable CM9 release for my phone )

I think i don't even have a bootanimation.zip in my phone... i searched in the entire root and nothing...
I've never changed a boot animation in any of my phones, so i'm kind of lost here
Look's good! But on LG-P500 it small lagging)
copied the zip to the sdcard, flashed it with cwm recovery but I still have the normal android boot animation...

The zip it's no to be flashed... you have to put it in your phone inner memory "/system/media" folder (if you haver another bootanimation.zip there, rename it just in case)
And that's it
There are 2 archives in the first post - one to be flashed with cwm recovery and one to be put directly in /system/media , none of them worked until I copied the bootanimation.zip in /data/local also. Now it works, but the quality of the gif is very very bad..much wore than the old cm7 animation.
Is there any way to change boot animation on Samsung Galaxy R ICS 4.0.4? I tried something i found here on forum and now i dont have any boot animation and i wanted a ICS stock animation :crying:
Not stock ICS, but this is greatest boot animation I saw so far, and SGS3 shut down animation, so first U must be rooted to do this or any system modification...

First unpack, now Boot archive contains two files and you should place them in SYSTEM/MEDIA folder, second one is shut down animation and place this file in

Only original one, as it was on GB, others .qmg animations have other models names and numbers so not very useful

where many boot animations are present (many of the mediafire links are not working). This thread is under Samsung Fascinate so afraid of flashing via CWM. So I'm creating and editing sanim files manually. Succeeded in creating in boot animations :good: but need to see how to change boot sound.

Thank You. S boot animation is nice but i got now 1,2 MB free memory on rom. I think safe is use stock one :good:
The Great Boot Animation for ICS
Hey Guys,
Happy to announce that I have successfully installed the Boot animation in Angeek ROM. Its a great Boot Animation with colourfull Android.
Here is the procedure for Flashing the boot animation for the Rom:
1) Download the Attached file & Just put it into Sdcard.
2) Now go to -> system/media & change bootanimation.zip to oldbootanimation.zip
3) Copy the downloaded bootanimation.zip to system/media
4) Give rights to the file of -rw--r--r
5) reboot your Phone.
But for safely purpose, take the backup first.

yeahhh.. I know this link buddy bt few of them are not working & I had already changed the boot animation from this link bt have you checked my uploaded animation..?? I have seen this in XDA b4 bt couldn't update this one till now. now we have it. If you can then pls add this one in your next SENSATIONAL MAZEL ROM..? Hows the name..??
Procedure for changing Bootanimation in any ROM
Hi Friends,
Below is the procedure for changing the Boot animation in any ICS ROM. But it has one limitation. You have to be in the below attached ardatdat 4.1 kernel to have the Boot animation working. Thanks to wanamsmile
Make a backup of bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg from /system/media and remove them
Now make a backup of samsungani and bootanimation from /system/bin
Download the attached samsungani and bootanimation (Unzip the package) and paste it into /system/bin. It will overwrite the existing files
You can get any of the custom bootanimation file. The name shud be bootanimation.zip. One custom bootanimation file is given here
Place the file in /system/media
Download the attached ardatdat 4.1 (modified) and place it in ur sdcard
Reboot to CWM and flash the kernel
Reboot the mobile. Now u will have new custom bootanimation

Try installing this cool watchdogs boot animation for any of your device which has cm theming feature.
Follow the steps.
1. Download the apk from here.

2.install that apk and go to settings- themes- boot animations-
Select the watchdogs animation and apply the theme.
3. Reboot and enjoy.

This look very nice, but I am on BrokenOS (layers, not cm themes). It is not a problem, I extracted bootanimation.zip from .apk and place it in /system/media, but desc.txt is maded for 720x1280 resolution. It is not problem also , I edited desc.txt, packed again in .zip and everybody are happy. I don't know if .apk change resolution to apropriate, but in any case, here you are bootanimation.zip for our MI 4i 1080x1920. Of course, all credits goes to OP. (Just rename a .zip before using)
