[MOD]CM7 Boot Animation! - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

All thanks goes to CM7 group for making their boot animation. I'm new to android and while waiting for a good custom rom to appear. I decided to look at custom roms for other phones. Then I found CM7's rom and saw it in action. I love their boot animation. So I will upload the boot animation for CM7 fans here.
Requirements:
Rooted phone
File explorer with root access and making folders R/W
Download:
http://cl.ly/223q0P30280P313D3Q37
Steps:
1. Download the zip file.
2. Put the zip file in your sd card.
3. Open up your file explorer on your phone copy the zip file on your SD card and go to /system/customize/resource.
4. Before you press paste make sure you make a back up of your original boot animation just look for TMUS_Animation.zip and you could just rename it to TMUS_Animation.bak.
5. Paste it and reboot to see the boot animation.

Rooted OTA, PB31IMG not working? Solution!

I have been trying to follow dubsx guide for installing his awesome custom boot animations but the PB31IMG.zip file keeps coming up with wrong image during HBOOT.
iowabowtech suggested a different method that works.
Using Root Explorer, make a backup file on your sdcard. Go to system/customize/resource and move the VZW_Bootanimation.zip and the VZW_Droid.mp3 to the backup folder (just so you can return it to the stock boot animation if you want)
Go to the custom boot animation zip you want and move it to system/customize/resource You can also use a custom mp3 file (up to 30-40 seconds long I believe) and place it in the resource file too.
Long press your animation file and rename it to VZW_Bootanimation.zip If you are changing the mp3 file rename it to VZW_Droid.mp3
It worked for me running the rooted Inc_Gingerbread_Official.zip found here on XDA.
Please correct me if I am wrong somewhere with this method.
I never install boot animations thru hboot. You sure he's not talking about installing splash screens because that's how you install those. I just rename the animation and throw them into the folder containing the old bootanimation.zip. So yes, that's the method I use, and yes it works, and what you have written is correct.

Infinity ROM BOOT SCREEN

Does anyone know how to change the boot animation on the gingerbread infinity rom? I tried using rom toolbox app to change the boot animation. It succesfully installs it but the animation never changes. Any clues on how to fix it or other methods?
yes you can download a different boot animation and rename it to bootanimation.zip
Then with root explorer move the file to system/media.Replace the original one (remeber to back it up) and just reboot

search in the internet for a bootanimation of your choice (or extract it from another rom)
on your phone go to: system/media/bootanimation.zip,
(rename "bootanimation.zip"to whatever.zip).
now in system/media put the new bootanimation.zip you downloaded,
make sure is .zip and named bootanimation ,reboot your phone Enjoy.
If I helped it the thanks button please...

[Q] How to change Bootanimation in Kyrillo's ROM v10.4

Hey, I'd like to know how to change the bootanimation in Kyrillo's ROM as ive already tried BootAni and some other apps and even tried manually changing the Bootanimation in "data" and "system/media"...didnt work.... it'd be great if i could get some help and if possible in a step by step manner...
1. Find a suitable replacement in bootanimation.zip format.
2.check to make sure this isnt an update zip. (do this by exploring the file, it should consist of only files names "part0" and "desc.txt" and maybe "part1")
3.If it is a update zip, unzip it and extract the bootanimationzip inside it.
4. place this onto sd card
5. use root explorer or similar to move the file to system/media, making sure it is named "bootanimation.zip" it should say something like "file exists, replace it?". say yes.
6. now long press the new file and open up permissions in the menu. set these as rw-r--r--
7. reboot phone and enjoy!
bear in mind that kyrillos 10.4 is based on open fimg, so you may have white patched in the boot animation, just like the one preloaded onto it.
In 10.4, Kyrillos has fixed the white patches in SOME bootanimation, like the stock one.

I did ..
On an extra note:
If you want to avoid having white flashes in your bootanimations on any rom with openFIMG you should look for one with less than 75 frames in the part1 folder. Any frames past that turn white...
Tried didnt work!!....

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28095141
Warning: this is not a flashable zip. You have been warned.
Instructions:
1. Download
2. Rename to bootanimation.zip
3. Go to /system/media, backup your current one to your SD card, just in case you want to change it back because you don't like it or this boot animation is too beautiful till your eyes can't handle it.
4. Copy the new bootanimation.zip you downloaded to /system/media.
5. Reboot and enjoy the new boot animation!
I own nothing. Credit goes to the person who did this!

Would be cool to have this animation in the list of bootanimatioms that you can choose when using Aroma.
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app

[APP] [T285] [2017/12/11] Add Custom Bootanimation

Custom Boot Animation
Change the bootanimation that shows AFTER the boot logo.
This has only been tested on the T285, but should work on the T280.
This app does make a backup of the original bootanimation and the bootanimation.zip and stores it on your /sdcard as bootanimation.bak and bootanimation.zip.bak
MAKE SURE YOUR SDCARD IS MOUNTED WHEN YOU GET INTO TWRP or CWM.
(Have NOT tested in CWM as I have TWRP installed).
To change the bootanimation, replace the system/media/bootanimation.zip in the .zip file with your own bootanimatio.zip file.
Remember the Galaxy TAB A (SM-T285) display is 720x1280.
NOTE: The bootanimation.zip MUST NOT be compressed when creating the bootanimation.zip. Under 'compression method' select 'store'.
Steps to install:
- Reboot into recovery
- Select Install from recovery menu
- Select TAB-A-T285-Custom_Bootanimation.zip
- Follow recovery install prompts
- Reboot and enjoy!

Here ya go!
Let me know if you have any problems with this.
The app assumes you still have the original bootanimation.bak and bootanimation.zip.bak on your sdcard.

Thanks for the quick reply,
For some reason the tablet doesn't want to restore, reinstalling the custom boot animation also doesn't work.
I have the boot splash screen for +/- 30 seconds and then the OS is booted.. No boot animation
What can I do to get the standard Gray Android Boot animation?

Have you installed a custom operating system? If yes, which one?
Do you have the original, saved .bak files on your SDCard?

Could be that other bootanimations over-wrote the saved, original bootanimation files.
Original bootanimation files were saved on internal sdcard as *.bak files.
Best way to learn to create a bootanimation is to unzip one and look at the file structure. They are very easy to create. Also, "Google Search" is your friend. You need to make sure you are using a bootanimation (in /system/bin) file that is compatible with the O/S you are using. Otherwise, you will get a blank screen.
