Ubuntu 12.04 - HTC Pico (Explorer)

I want to start creating ROM's and need a Linux based OS so I'm downloading Ubuntu 12.04. Is this OS a good one to use, or should I have downloaded an older version?
I'm a complete n00b in Android developing, so I'm currently in the process of reading FAQ's and guides on here and Google.

hi, 12.04 is relatively new and has compatability issues regards compiling (did for me), I used 11.10 for cm7/9 if you wish to compile aosp ics/jb then use 10.04.4 (lucid) 64bit this is used by android aosp team to compile, you should have no problems with it, providing the build environment is setup correctly

Where can I get v10 or 11 from? I've downloaded and installed 12.04 but couldn't find the others.

No idea yet. Might try following a few guides on here like Sakinda's guides at creating CM9 and Evervolv and see how they go.

I'm using 11.10 64bit that LiVeRpOoL-FaN posted on the first page. I can't remember how I did it but I burnt it to disk and installed it alongside Windows, so I have the option which I want to load at boot up.

ROM signing solution for Mac OS X (or Darwin at least)??

Is there a method for signing ROMs on a Mac? I'm getting into developing ROMs but right now all I have is a Mac. I could dual-boot the Mac, but that's too much like work.
No answer on this so far?

I use Android-sign to sign zips and apks on my mac. I've attached it below and just follow readme.rtf for where to put the files. The thread about it is here.

ive tried installing it by running the apk after flashing (the file does show up in system folder, but i still get the error :\)
Reflashed JB 3 times and cleared dalvik/cache/data each time aswell
Gonna try again, just to make sure im not completely dumb

Edit2: After flashing, and trying to install the apk located in system afterwards, it says there was an error parsing the file

You may remove Latinime.apk if you don't use the default keyboard..
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda premium
Well, got it working.. somewhat, after i deleted Latinime.apk to get more space, it would work fine
that is till i reboot, and constant android keyboard error now because i removed that file, odly enough it wont remember that i disabled it
anyone else have this working with JB Beta2 that sakindia123 made?

Ubuntu for android

Ubuntu has been released for android. Will our devices be able to run it? If so, will it run well?

I get the feeling it won't work too well if it works at all.
I'm placing emphasis on dual-core on the website below.

No they cannot but they should be easily portable since android and Ubuntu for android use the same kernel.

I'd like to see this ported to DS, especially as my contract runs out soon!
Sent from my Desire S using Tapatalk 2
I belive that it will be realised
So, if some kind soul ports it (We are actually talking about Ubuntu phone, but not Ubuntu for android right?)
would it pop up on the android development forum?
Ubuntu
How big is this Ubuntu and more important could a sort of dual boot setup be created like on a PCM so the android os could be primary and perhaps Ubuntu could be on a partition on the flash card.
I got a 64gb sd card class 10 so I'm looking for ways of using my space creatively

The thing about windows phones is they run on Intel Cores, they are ment for windows and only Windows i have Seen some Threads That You are able to get Android 2.0-2.1 on a windows phone i dont even know how this was possible but im sure it might have been fake or Was very Slow and still in Beta. but this was for Some Specific Samsung Windows 7Phones so you much get lucky if they put somore Devolopement into it.(also if you were able to get android on it, it would Require Dual Boot. sooo windows and android will be on it.
So it have to be windows in my HTC... Thx...
