I think the issue related to Base rom..
Sent from my GT-I9003 using Tapatalk 2

Go to settings -> wireless & networks -> mobile networks -> Access point names -> {select your access point}.
If your APN type is: "default, supl" (without the double quotes), then you have to flash the modem again and restore the /efs folder (make a /efs backup before flashing the modem)
If don't, change it to "default, supl", tap on the menu button -> save. This should solve the problem

Don't forget to check whether u have latest version of mobile Odin and u have ticked on rooting option before flashing....
Maybe at first device would behave weirdly but a restart won't let any problem show up....

i'm with the same problem, after rooting i tried: replacing the Wifi folder (didn't work), and fixing permission in cwm (didn't work). The idea was to fix this problem without using Mobile Odin but, i don't know what to do...
EDIT:
Succeed rooting with BCK CF-root universal beta14fix NO WIFI BUGS running fine for about 2 hs
Wifi con XXKE4

Back up the folder in Wifi, located in the root in capeta etc, save it in internal sd and once the acualizacion copy the contents of this file and sustitulles. with this you will XXLE4 with wifi so I did and it works wonders.
just use Bam kernel and your problem is solved

Mobile network Unreachable.

Hi all,
I wanted too use CM9 port on my GT5801. I Wipe Data, i flash it.
After that my phone doesn't be able to connect on the mobile network.
I search in the efs file and i see it empty. I replace it by the backup i have made but nothing.
I tried too return too kyrillos 9.0 rom but it's the samething. I remade a restore of the efs and now the PIN code is ask a the boot. But the network is steel unreachable.
Any idea ?
PS: I have tried my sim card on an other phone and the mobile network is reachable.

Try flashing another rom like cm7 or stock
Sent from my GT-I5800 using xda premium
You need to flash a modem.bin file our something like that. Download the stock ROM for your region, europe, india etc. then delete everything in the ROM except the modem file using total commander which is a computer program. Then flash the .tar file in odin like normal. Download the stock firmware from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22532034. Also, you can just flash the ROM straight away but that would take you to the stock ROM. If you want to stay on CM9/Kyrillos ROM then flash the modem file only.
Press thanks if I helped!
Hague. LMondi
I have find the solution last nigth.
My idea : Android was used the file wen i tried too remplace them.
So I shutdown the phone, remove the sim card and power it on.
I remove all /efs file (Hiden included) and i restore my backup.
I put the sim card and reboot the phone.
AND it's work.

you do realise that this is a modem file and it can potentially harm the device... I appreciate your effort but I am just worried if some one who is having a low signal problem and flashes this and looses their baseband/IMEI...
Btw what is the version number of the modem file?
It is a XXKPE + some features from the Samsung Service Baseband
Which is enhanced in this modem?

no offence but is it worth that risk??
I was just curious about it so I installed it and have been trying for two hours or so. Not enough time to make conclusions. But I can confirm it is not dangerous (also, if you are on cm, you don't even have to flash from Odin, so you don't touch the radio partition). Picture attached.
Look at the "Versión de banda base" field, which is the baseband. It now says service. Very interesting, thank you!

how do i install the baseband without odin ??? am lil bit confused with it.
Do you use a cm build newer than cm 10 alpha 4?
Then just copy the modem.bin inside this .tar to /radio, change owner to radio:radio and permissions to 655 and reboot.
If, just in case, it didn't work, just move your old modem.bin to /radio again.

Easy, download a file explorer with root permissions, copy your efs backup and paste it over the efs folder in "/" (root folder)
You'll get your IMEI instantly (of course reboot).
If that doesn't work, download a modem.bin that works in your country and do what rodero said

Nope, it is very unlikely that the problem was caused by the modem, its just that, since alpha 4, our device is using an mtd partition layout and Odin uses a bml partition layout, so you probably just screw up your partitions.

[Q] Wifi tether not working

Hi Friends
I have been following the forum for a year and have finally registered as i found a question to which there is no solution i could find yet . .
I have a rooted Atrix 2 running NUMA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960679
Its one of the best and most stable ROMS i have tried but i am facing one issue on it . .
I'm not able to use wifi tethering on my phone . .
A network is created and my nexus 7 connects to it but the internet simply does not work!
Any tricks to make it work?
Have FXZed several times and done fresh installs but no luck
Tried some apps to kick start it but they caused a reboot so i uninstalled . .
any fix for it?
Bump!
still awaiting a response . .

I've never had that problem, or any problem on NUMA. If I did, though, I would re-download the ROM and start over.
Did/do you have any additional mods or tweaks installed? Xposed framework and modules, for example?
If I had a dollar for every time I said that, I'd be making money in a very weird way.
I tried that . .even FXZed my phone . . . .
btw does it make a difference as i have an indian Atrix 2 MB865 but this rom is based on AT&T ICS?

What are you using for this? Are you using the native app or a 3rd party app?
This has already been answered. Please search before posting.
Try changing you apn type to 'not set' in apn settings
Screenshot APN
Hi Guys i did read about the APN settings however i am not able to edit the APN settings and there is a lock on it . .
I have attached screenshot of the settings . .
Also i noticed another issue recently . .The phone auto reboots if i try to transfer files via Superbeam before QR code gets generated
Could this be a related issue as it also uses wifi tethering indirectly?
R u able to create a new apn?

You can find apn settings for Airtel on internet. Just keep 'apn type' to 'not set' in apn settings.
This worked fine for me on Vodafone
Internet tethering is now working for me thanks to these settings i found. .
On the device, tap the Settings icon
Choose Wireless & Networks (or Wireless Controls)
Choose Mobile Networks and then Access Point Names
Press the Menu key and then New APN
Select Name, enter: Airtel GPRS and tap OK.
Select APN, enter: airtel-ci-gprs.com
Scroll down to APN TYPE and enter: default or (Select : Internet)
Press the Menu key and select Save
Tap on Airtel GPRS to turn it on
However I'm still unable to use Superbeam!
Phone restarts if i try to send anything through it . .

Goto you settings and check your imei number and check it against the tag on the case under the battery if its what I think it is I had the same when I had a i9100 basicly your efs folder has courpted some how by rights you should of done a back up do a bit of googling its very common and could be easy to restore if I'm correct your device will show a generic imei like this 004999010640000
If yes there are apps on play store that could help restore your efs folder
DO NOT POST YOUR ORIGNAL IMEI ON HERE
if you get stuck pm me and I'll help best I can
There is an amazing guide on here somewhere do a search for it but it shows the steps to take to restore your data settings. u need your msl number there is an app on the market just type msl (must be rooted) and the dial code is ##3282# it will ask for view or edit mode and then the msl code there u can restore your data settings
