[APPS]JellyBean[modded Gapps] [Dual Panel enabled = without tablet mod ] - Android Apps and Games

Since we dont all like tablet mode but might like dual panel for some apps and not for others , I decided to start forcing a few apps to display in dual panel .
what does this means ? well regardless of your resolution ( dpi ) these modded apps will behave as if you had a tablet .
As of now I did these : (attached)
_Gmail (standard and inverted )
_Gtalk (standard and inverted )
I will be posting more .
Notice :Specific dpi per app is possible, but then I would have to make one at every dpi for every phone .. full time job right here (lol) so please dont ask for it..
If these dont work for you . always state your device and rom type ( ie proprietary rom vs aosp base ) fix and how to install will be posted in post #2
If there is interest for the opposite I can as easily force them to NOT be in tablet mode for tablet users or others running tablet mode but prefer single panel look .
Credits for the original inverted apps : #teamBAKED

if you already have gtalk or gmail installed , you need to remove them first . as signature will conflict .
Gmail installs normaly
Gtalk needs to be (renamed to Talk.apk ) then pushed to system/app , fix its permission then reboot
if you have any problems with this not installing right please state your rom and phone model thank you .

cant install normally ...

Will try when the non themed versions are released. I don't like those inverted ones, they look strange. How you enable that? Maybe ob other apps (non system ones) this could also work.

Works well on lg p 500 running cm10. Just one request though can the dual pane mode be configured in such a way that when we select a action ie select a mail from the inbox to read or compose a mail, the pane on the left be minimised as soon as the choice is made because on small screen phone's like mine it is very tedious to read anything on the right hand side panel.
Thanks

Getting the 'not installed' screen here: Evo 4G running Team DIRT MIUI Jelly Bean. Tried moving it to /system and setting permissions correctly, that didn't work either. The screenshot looks great, would love to try it!

Personally, I would like a YouTube app that runs in phone mode only for tablets. The default tablet YouTube mode (non Nexus 7) doesn't show enough recent videos. It shows a fixed number, then it ends, while the phone version refreshes quite a bit more as you scroll.

Does the camera in this rom have touch to focus functionality? I'm about to flash to this one, but I do like the camera in the desire rom..
edit-----
Nevermind, I've already flashed it.
Found 2 bugs: the camera and screen autodim
Basically this is the default nexus camera, and on the desire hardware (at least on mine) it cannot autofocus. Takes blurry shots, and the lens seems to dislike the rom..
The screen auto-dimmer seems to be stuck on really low..
Besides this everything seems to work fine. The lockscreen is perfect. Not keeping the rom though, the camera is a nogo for me.
Just hope somebody can bake this lockscreen into the desire rom
Just love this rom, Thanks Paul

No, you have to do some work:
The morphs cant be used due to semi-root that we have today. (no write permission)
And the mods may need to be converted to be able to install on this rom.

Not sure if it's due to permissions, but when I had a scheduled alarm go off this morning it force closed the honeycomb clock...the alarm kept going, but I couldn't silence it without rebooting my phone.
I like the clock widget, but I'm not a fan of the clock app yellow/green/red color scheme.
FYI, I did run fix permissions in rom manager since I had occasional force closes with other apps.

Clock app doesnt need any permission. Seems ur system and installed clock are fighting to wake u up one way to fix it is to use adb and copy the new clock over original. B4 that i would pull the original and back it up.
Yeap most people like blue or white but i also considers others who like variety

[MOD] Back to black, inverted apps

did you delete the previous one? what I usually do is change the one in the system already is add an .bak at the end of .apk (vending.apk.bak) as to keep it there for a back up and make sure when you move over the other one make sure to correct permissions. Not sure if you tried that yet but if not, give it a go and it should do the trick.
Also when you move it over, do you have system as rewritable? (obviously you need to be rooted to so ) if you are make sure that you gave permission on the file explorer that your using. If all that fails, I can make one for you if you like.
Z
I saved original apk on my SD-card and replaced it in /system/app with the black themed one with root explorer and rebootet and fixed permissions, but always the original market opens again, though there is no apk in /system/app. cant explain that

what you do, is go in to the app ( as if you were going to uninstall it ) and then stop , clear cache, clear data, swap out the apk and reboot in recovery wipe/ clear delvic/cache and that should do the trick . happened to me once before and got it to work that way.
Z
I normally replace the apk files in the ROM prior to flash.
Had no problem with Gmail, Drive, Youtube. But try as I can, just cannot get "Talk" to work.
Since I replace apks before flashing ROMS, I cannot use the one from Jules as that require a flash and a flash of "Part 2" as well. It does work that way, but not if I replace the original talk.apk with the one from his 1st zip file or 2nd.
The one by bradman117, just refuse to work for me ... whatever way I try, including flashing it separately.
Anyone know of any other "Talk" versions available that has full functionality?
Thanks

Because it was updated before you replaced it, so there's an apk (it might be called Phonesky, or Play depending) in data/app of the white market which overrides the one in system/app. You need to remove that one as well for the inverted app to show up.

Ive seen a couple of ICS based , inverted or what you ever wish to call it but it does break mms. Other then that, it looks great! Trust me, your not the only one searching for this, I've been at it for 4 weeks and have yet to find one that does not make phone loop ( on boot ) or one that will actually send mms along w/ regular text. Please if anybody has any info, please chime in , it would be greatly appreciated!!

I modded the black keyboard theme out of AeonFlex for a more simple look, and did a second version with softer corners by request. They should work with any rom using the LG Keyboard (including G3 keyboard!) but please let me know if they don't. Rounded corners or oval keys? I will look into it if I get time.

Oh I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you : rounded corners.
If you have no time, it's nothing, your keyboard is already great ! :good:
Mine ends up looking like this.. I kind of like it though!
I'm running maladus and g2xposed

Are the lines around the keys only on one side or is that just how it looks after the picture resized? Are you running a dpi mod in xposed?
That's just how it looks after resize. The lines are all there for me. Wish it would have showed, looks sweet in person!
Don't know a lot about dpi,I am using g2xposed though. Seen a post about 320dpi being better, but I have no clue how to do that,yet..

Ha ok. I can get a good idea of what it looks like. Nice font. Was just asking about dpi because of the lines, I haven't messed w mine either...
Thanks for the time and effort on the keyboard!

Just installed your 'rounded edges' keyboard. Looks nice! Good work.
Very cool! I always like black themed keyboards. So much easier on the eyes.
Dear @AyDee
I've got a little "offtopic" question : it's possible to customize the keyboard using your mod or other mod from LG's Smarworld without be rooted, just by installing an apk.
So I think it's possible to add new fonts in the same way.
I tried to modify LG's Smartworld fonts with my prefered font (WP Segoe) but I failed.
Even with a complete decompilation of the apk, font changes, modified xml, and recompile of the apk.
Could you point me in the right direction ?
The aim is to be able to add new fonts of our choice (and not only LG's choice) in the display settings.
Sorry for this "not so short" off topic.
Cheers.

Actually I'm glad you brought this up. I didn't even know you could install more fonts(!) and hadn't even used Smartworld until you mentioned it in your post. I just downloaded some fonts (and other stuff). I'll pull them and see if I can get it working.
All that cutesy stuff on Smartworld makes me want to make some more stuff for 'grown-ups' that use the G2..

Look's nice, thank you :good:
