didn't work with my A511. Was able to unlock the bootloader and to flash recovery, but when trying to boot into CWM my screen gets broken.
Before that, it tries to pull some update.zip.
EDIT: ah, see this answer!

The new CWM works with both A510 and A511.
Remember, after you have full root and /System RW, you must delete the boot-recovey.p file, or whatever the heck they name it. Might even be an sh file.
Otherwise, when you install your CWM, and you boot to your stock rom, the CWM recovery gets overwritten and replaced with Acer Stock Recovery. This is why it attempted to look for an "update.zip".
I believe this is mentioned in several places.

Can you go into Bootloader/Fastboot? (Volume Down + Power)
EDIT: Read your other thread. You need to flash a stock recovery. You can do that via fastboot. Flash a stock recovery, format SD card, then flash a custom recovery again and you should be good to go.
Process of flashing any recovery is easy. Refer to the method in my signature, you just need to follow the RECOVERY FLASHING PART ONLY.
Other necessary info is also available.

Great. Now you have a stock recovery. Just format the SD Card from recovery and the SD should be good.
Afterwards, you can flash any custom recovery and mess around with flashing ROMs etc.

Download This. Open the zip file with 7-Zip or WinRAR, go to firmware.zip, extract recovery.img.
Then flash the recovery in the same way. This is the stock recovery and not TWRP.
I am assuming your phone to be S3 and updated to Jellybean already.

Hi. Please help. I have been running CM10.1 on my rooted tablet and I decided to try CM11. I don't know what I have done but CM11 did not work so I tried to go back to CM10.1, and that just gets stuck on the boot screen. I have tried several different Roms and they all get stuck on the boot screen. The only Rom that will work is CM9.1? I don't know what I could have done to cause this. I am running Philz Touch 6.12.8. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Your EFS seems to be broken for some reason... that´s why it won´t boot into system....
this got reported in a german forum, because 2 guys flashed CWM 6.0.4.4-Touch on the device... CWM 6.0.4.4-Touch not released for the Tab 2 - it was for a different device and flashing that recovery brokes EFS for them.

Latest CWM Touch for our Device 6.0.2.7 ... i am sure you used a file for a different device and that broke your EFS!
Do you still have the file? you can upload it for me and send me a private message with the link, i can take a look on it. Please don't post the file here in the thread (i do not like to see someone else flashing it and breaking his efs).

It seems no one has created a CWM for your phone.
You can create it on your own.
Check here: How to make CWM recovery
You can get scatter file and boot.img from the stock ROM here: http://13freak.blogspot.in/2014/12/lenovo-yoga-b8000-h-3g-100-firmware.html

Yes, most MTK devices will work for that.
If you're afraid it will brick the phone, you can do this:
Follow the steps from there until recovery image (.img file) is created.
Then boot into Fastboot mode (Google it if u don't knkno
then using ADB, execute this command:
Code:
fastboot boot pathname/recovery_name.img
(Where pathname is the directory where recovery is present with name recovery_name.img)
Better rename it as recovery.img and place in C:\ and use it like this:
fastboot boot C:\recovery.img
If it boots and CWM recovery shows up, then you can flash it
U can also use it directly by this way by booting
hello,
Acer iconia a1-830, I'm trying to flash a stock firmware SDs_Acer_AV0K0_A1-830_1.007.00_WW_GEN1.zip
i saw this file for a1-830 acer, it says like this
Firmwares
Flashable via (stock) Recovery
A1-830
SDs_Acer_AV0K0_A1-830_1.007.00_WW_GEN1.zip
SDs Acer_AV0K0_A1-830_RV01RC02_WW_GEN1.zip
SDs_Acer_AV0K0_A1-830_RV01RC05_WW_GEN1.zip
So i downloaded SDs_Acer_AV0K0_A1-830_1.007.00_WW_GEN1.zip,
i assume it's flashable via android system recovery, so copied the file to my microsd card and boot to recovery then only option i know to flash it by "apply update from external storage" then select the file.
it gives me this error installation aborted.. it is trying to find update package.
tried changing file name to update.zip still the same error. i know i'm doing it wrong.
anyone knows how to flash this files to my acer iconia a1-830?
thanks in advance.

Install driver first just connect phone to pc or use adb installer for driver installation.
Then unplug it if driver installed properly.
Extract/Open SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1252
Click "Scatter-loading"then browse "MT6575_Android_scatter_emmc"inside the Firmware.
Hit Download button.
Hold volume down then connect to PC and wait until flashing is done.

Hi everyone,
I was trying to root my nexus 5 MOB30M
unlocked bootloader, install twrp(3.0.2) and selected read only and powered off my phone through twrp options.
Now when i try to get into recovery a dead android with red exclamation comes up. I have no clue what to do.
Should i flash the twrp image again?
or any solution? Please help me out. :crying:
You should just try to reflash twrp. If your phone is rooted, you can flash it through the twrp app and if its not you can try Wugfreshs Root Toolkit to reflash the recovery using your PC.
If that doesn't work then you could try flash a different recovery first (like cwm) and then reflash twrp. Also you should allow twrp to make modifications instead of leaving it read only.
Hope this helps & Good luck!

No problem! Let me know if you have issues and I'll try help.
You need to boot into twrp right after flashing without rebooting; otherwise, stock recovery will overwrite twrp.
Thank you guys for the help.
My recovery partition was damaged, i re flashed twrp as @Rooted Droid suggested and i'm out of problems and my device is rooted. Thank you for all the help. You guys are great.
