1- Download and install Odin 1.85. Make sure you have Kies installed first because it installs the necessary USB drivers.
2- Extract the ROM .zip file and put it on your desktop or somewhere easy to find.
3-Run Odin as adminstrator.
4-Click on the PDA button in Odin and find the ROM file you want to load on to your Note. It's an MD5 file. Leave everything else as-is.
5-Put your Note in to download mode by pressing power and volume down at the same time. Use the volume up button to select download mode. A little green Android should show up on the Note's screen.
6-Connect your Note via USB to your PC. The box under ID:COM in Odin should turn yellow.
7-Click start in Odin. Odin will show you what it's doing in the message box and you'll see a progress bar on your Note. When it's done, disconnect your Note from the PC and it should reboot itself with the update?

I used this procedure to update my note 10.1. It worked perfectly, just like an update from kIes. Make sure you are not rooted before you do this. Your note must be bone stock with no modifications. This procedure did not wipe my note, all my apps and data were intact after the update.
Make sure you read up on using Odin before you try this. Also, read up on the ota to make sure you want it. It fixes a lot of problems, but some people don't like the new s notes. For me, the ota makes the note so much better that it's a complete no brainer.
There is also a pre rooted version of this fIrmware in the development section.

Ever since the 4.3 update for galaxy s4 i9505 came out, i was soo eager to get that on my samsung galaxy s4 shg-i337m which is a canadian variant. I am not the type of guy to run stock roms. i am currently using Foxhound 3.1 diamond dog (very impressive if i say so myself). when i installed it i lost root. i did have to run around to get the method to actually root it once again. i thought i would save peoples time by putting it where it belongs.

How to Root Galaxy S4 LTE GT-I9505 on Android 4.3 XXUEMJ5 Official Firmware via CF-Auto-Root
Root Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 on Android 4.3 XXUEMJ5 Official Firmware [GUIDE]
1. Extract the root file CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip on your computer via 7-zip software to obtain a .tar.md5 file.
2. Also extract Odin 3.07.zip file to obtain Odin3 v3.07.exe.
3. Double-click the exe file to launch Odin.
4. Boot the Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 into Download Mode. To do so, turn off the phone and wait for 6 to 7 seconds until the device completely shuts down.
5. Press and hold Volume Down, Power and Home buttons together until the "Warning!" message appears on screen. Then hit Volume Up button to progress into Download Mode.
6. Connect the phone to computer. When the phone connects successfully, a message saying "Added!" will appear at the bottom left box in Odin.
7. If the "Added!" Message fails to appear, you may try the following troubleshooting steps:
Ensure the correct USB drivers are installed for the phone on computer
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the phone's USB drivers
Connect a different USB cable and check.
Try using another USB port on the computer (preferably the one at the back)
Reboot the phone and PC. Then check if the message appears.
8. Upload the firmware files in Odin as suggested below:
Tap the PDA button in Odin and choose the .tar.md5 file, which was extracted in step 1.
9. Enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options in Odin. Leave all other boxes in Option section unchecked.
10. Verify the previous two steps are done correctly. If there is a mistake, it may brick your device.
11. Click Start in Odin to begin the firmware flashing process on your Galaxy S4. Wait until the PASS message appears in Odin's top left box.
12. When the PASS message appears, the phone will restart automatically. Now, it is safe to disconnect the phone from computer.
NOTE: If a FAIL message appears in step 12, just disconnect the phone from computer and exit Odin. Remove the phone's battery and reinsert it in 3 to 4 seconds, then launch Odin and repeat the entire tutorial from Step 4.
GOOD LUCK ROOTING
I have a samsung galaxy fit S-5670 unrooted device and it has Android Foryo 2.2 in it. Although Gingerbread for my device has been oficially launched i'm not able to upgrade my device through Kies software. My device lately has been very buggy like it automatically switches off, keypad doesn't work till i reboot it etc.
I want to upgrade my device manually and i don't know the procedure to do it. I'm new to xda and i've never done rooting and installed custom roms.
Please provide any link to the tutorial for it.
Thanks.

Hi this is how to root your s4.
Pre-requisites
1) Install USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy S4 to transfer files between the Android device and the computer.
2) Enable USB Debugging Mode on phone to connect it with computer and use Android SDK with it. [Press Menu>> Settings>> Applications. From there navigate and click on Development option and check USB Debugging Mode.]
3) As the tutorial might wipe out all data of the phone, create a backup. If the device is having any custom recoveries such as ClockworkMod/TWRP already installed, backup data using the recovery.
4) The Galaxy S4 should have above 80% battery charge.
5) The phone should be factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier.
6) The device will lose manufacturer's warranty once it is rooted. However, users can reclaim the warranty back by unrooting the handset later.
7) The CF-Auto-Root files work only on Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 and GT-I9505. As applying these to any incorrect variant might brick the device, verify the model number of Galaxy S4 by navigating to Settings>> About phone>> Model number and install the root package accordingly.
Steps to root Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500/I9505 on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
Step-1: Download CF-Auto-Root file for Galaxy S4 to computer (Download link download.chainfire.eu/316/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip
Step-2: Extract the downloaded root zip using Winzip, 7zip, winrar or any other extracting tool to get a file with .tar.md5 extension
CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5
Step-3: Download Odin3_v3.07. Extract the Odin zip to get Odin3 v3.07.exe file
Step-4: Switch off Galaxy S4 and wait for five to six seconds for vibration to confirm complete power off
Step-5: Place the phone in Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together until the construction Android robot icon with a warning triangle appears on the phone's screen. Then press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode
Step-6: Run Odin3 v3.07.exe as Administrator
Step-7: Connect the phone to the computer using USB cable while it is in Download Mode. Wait for some time until Odin detects the device. When the phone is connected successfully, an Added message will appear under Odin message box. Additionally, the ID: COM box in Odin will turn blue with the COM port number indicating successful connection
Note: If the Added message does not appear, then try another USB port, try the one located at the back side of the computer. In case Odin still fails to recognise the device then reinstall USB driver.
Step-8: In Odin, click the PDA button and select CF-Auto-Root-ja3g-ja3gxx-gti9500.tar.md5 or CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5 file according to the variants
Step-9: Ensure Auto-Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes are selected in Odin

Put GT-P5100 in the search box and choose the Rom that you want from the list. You'll need to register to get the link.

You need to quote me in your reply or I don't get a notification.
There's nothing to stop you rooting it again and extracting the data from your nandroid backup once you've installed the Rom
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
You can't really restore them, because they're on a different ROM, it'd overwrite all your fresh and fast ROM.
In two words: you can't.
You will need a country specific firmware, where did you buy your P5100; was it from.. anywhere in the world? Check for a sim card slot.
If it doesn't, get on to reading!
1. Find how much bits your windows is.... this can be done by opening the start orb in the bottom left corner, then right-click on computer. Click Properties, and look for 64 or 32.
Pick 64 if you have 64, or pick 32 if you have 32.
2. Install drivers according to your bits.
These will ensure good experience.
- 64bit: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOB...dows-x64.shtml
- 32bit: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOB...dows-x86.shtml
3. Download UK recovery! That is, if you don't have a SIM card slot.
Find here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=22456
Now, I was quite lazy to write a tutorial, so I did copy some sources. they will all be given credit.
1. Download and Install the Samsung USB drivers to your PC from the link above. Reboot your system once after installation. If you have already have KIES installed you can skip this step
Extract the Odin Package you downloaded earlier to your desktop. Look for the Odin exe file. That's the only one we would be using
Extract the downloaded stock firmware zip file to your desktop
On your Tab, go to Settings > Developer Options and Enable USB Debugging
Now Power off your Tab completely. We will now be putting your device into Download mode or Odin Mode as it is also called. Download mode is basically a Samsung Exclusive mode which allows flashing of firmware via Odin. Odin can only communicate with Samsung devices when they are in Download Mode. To get there, press and hold these keys together: Volume Down + Power. Then press Volume Up to enter download mode
On your PC, launch Odin by double clicking the exe file in the Odin folder. Just make sure that Samsung KIES is not running on your PC at this time. KIES and Odin don't like each other very much.
Connect your Tab 2 to PC using the OEM USB cable. Any microUSB cable should work, but I prefer to use the one supplied with the phone to avoid any unforeseen complications. You should see the message Added!! in the main Odin message box like in the screenshot below, as well as as COM Port number in the first slot directly above the message box, which tells you that Odin has recognized your device
odin_zpsc9caf496.jpg
In Odin, click the PDA button, locate the stock firmware .tar file that you extracted in Step 3. If there are additional file for the modem and CSC, add those as well. Make sure the Auto Reboot and the Reset Time boxes are checked and Re-partition box is NOT checked.
Double check everything in Step 8, then hit the Start button to restore your Tab 2 to stock Samsung firmware
Once Odin has finished flashing the CWM recovery, your Tab should automatically reboot. And if the flashing was successful, you should see the word PASS! against a green background at the top-left in the Odin window. This means it is now safe to disconnect your device. I rooted my my few weeks ago with snapdragon root, and yesterday I realized that some apps kept crashing, so I rebooted my phone, but it stucks at Tmobile logo. So I opened up smart switch on my pc, tries to restore my phone, but it said that : SM-G930T does not support initializing. It's confusing since I restore using smart switch before, but I downloaded stock firmware from xda forum, and flashed with odin. And it shows sw rev check fail device 4, binary 3. And it boots in to recovery mode everytime I forced to restart. btw, it says dm-verity verification failed. What can I do to fix this? Thanks for any suggesions.

I had the exact same problem with my phone which is the same model as yours, and after almost 2 days of surfing in the internet like crazy and trying all the diferent programs I found the solution.
1. first go to this video youtube,com/watch?v=RSZiVxJyFb4 (I cant post links so I will substitute the dot in "DOT COM" by a comma)
2.Download the firmware and Samsung drivers in the link in the video which is pangu.in/samsung_firmware.html skip thru the pages until you find your model(this link will download the drivers and a notepad with the link to the actual firmware download page which is sammobile,com/firmwares/
3. type the model number in the search bar (SM-G930T) and select the first one in the list and download it(note: you will need to create an account in this page in order to download the firmware but its only put your email and choose a password so it shouldn't be a problem. extract the firmware after downloaded.
4.Download the version of odin that is linked in the video link: pangu.in/odin_tool.html . Scroll down a lil bit and download the one that says "ODIN 3.11 (GALAXY S7)"HAS TO BE THIS ONE other versions wont work. extract it.
5.After you have downloaded everything(make sure you installed the drivers if you haven't done before) proceed to run ODIN with your phone unplugged from your pc and turned off
6.Load the AP file from the extracted firmware file into the AP tab you will see in ODIN(do all this with your phone UNPLUGED from the PC.
7.Now put your phone(which should be off and disconnected from the PC) into download mode[hold vol down+home+pwr button
then you will be aske to press button up to continue, do so(you probably know how to do this but I said in case other people don't)
8.connect your phone onto your pc and you should see your device show up in odin, now click start and you should be good to go
I hope it works for you since I know how frustrating it is to have such and expensive phone bricked.
