Hi guys-
I currently use my ipod as my primary mp3 player, and I have it connected to my home stereo. I LOVE having it on the dock, and I can use the remote control to change songs from in the kitchen while I'm doing stuff. I would like to switch out to using my phone, but I don't want to lose the ability to use the remote. It is a pain in the ass to run back into the living room every time I want to skip a song. I'm getting a new phone soon, so I was wondering if there are any android phones that you can use with a remote control? I REALLY don't want an iphone, but I'm considering it because I can use my ipod dock. Also, when I google remote for android phone, I only get results for apps that let you use your android phone as a remote control, which is not what I want. The few that I have seen also have headphones and built in mic. Seems like they are more designed for hands free phone operation while in the car. Not exactly what I'm looking for...
Thanks!
Edit: I Finally found this: http://www.examiner.com/technology-...emote-control-for-android-powered-smartphones
The list of compatible phones is quite short, though.
Has anyone tried it? Or has anyone used a different remote that you would recommend?

Does anyone know of an i/r remote that can control our android phones?
my daughters ipod charging dock came with an i/r remote that allows her to change songs from a distance with the remote. if only the dock would charge her ipod instead of giving a "this device is not a supported accessory" error... i hate apple!
i have a whole house audio system with keypads in all of the bedrooms that can transmit i/r commands back to a device to change channels/songs/etc. i have it setup to change songs on the ipod from anywere in the house which is fantastic, but the ipod won't charge on the dock .
i would love to replace the ipod with my anroid phone, but i have not seen a charging dock that also has an i/r sensor. it would be absolutely fantastic to have this option, and if anyone has any recommendations, i'd love to hear them.
thanks.
Ok so I was wondering, is it possible to set up my old ipod touch so that when I connect it to my speakers I can have it stream the audio coming from my android device?
If this isn't possible is there a way to remotely control the music already on my ipod touch?
Basicly I want to be able to control the music on my speakers wirlessly from my android device without having to use my computer, but rather an ipod touch.
Thanks for any help in advance
(They are both on the same wifi network which should make things much easier)
Anyone? I tried veency but I can't connect to it from Android VNC
Bump, still cant figure this out
I don't think so
Sent from my HTC_A510c using XDA App
is it possible??
i actually wanted to do this because i want to play the music through my tablet but want all the notifications from my phone.:laugh:
I'd be interested too! I don't believe it's possible. However, the Spotify app lets you control one instance from another if both devices are on the same network. I control Spotify on my phone from my watch using remote widget while it controls my tablet which is playing via my Bluetooth speaker.

Hi,
I have a Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS DVD Receiver installed in my car and it has the Pandora app on it. This allows it to display the artist name, song, gives the ability to thumbs up/down from the touch screen itself and is useful.
I was able to use this with my Nexus 5 but when my OPO is connected via bluetooth this isn't available.
Does anyone know what the difference between the N5 and OPO is in regards to being able to launch the pandora app on my headunit?
Looks like this feature is called Pandora Radio Ready.
Thank you.

Which ROM are you running? I have the AVH-X2700BS and running CM11S (XNPH44S) on my OPO, both bluetooth audio and Pandora control works decently well. I almost exclusively use Pandora over bluetooth audio and typically with about every 5 or 6th song change the song info will not change, but upon switching to the next song it will. If that makes sense. I've have no issues with Pandora control over bluetooth as well although i've had very little usage .
Now, the reason i ask which ROM you are using is because i recent upgraded to CM12 (YNG1TAS17L) in hopes that it would fix or mitigate the touch screen issues i've been having lately. After updating to that, when i stream Pandora over bluetooth i get no song info and the controls don't work at all. I did not try the Pandora control.
Question for you: Do you contacts sync properly with the HU? My contacts say they sync yet there's nothing under phonebook but recent calls does show the names and numbers properly.
I have a Z150BH. Just tried Pandora via bluetooth for the first time today. Pandora seems to work as designed, and controls work fine. It was just a short drive so will put more time into the eval and get back any meaningful changes of thoughts.
What I would like to do, however, is 'cast' my screen to the Pioneer unit. Thinking a wifi weather, then WIFI direct ought to work, with a Netear HD adapter.

Which ROM are you running? As i stated in my post i had major issues with CM12 and very few with CM11. I'd love to be able to cast my screen too...without having to purchase an additional $$ adapter. I'd also like to be able to use any headset with controls that i want. I'd REALLY love to be able to use the touchscreen when the phone gets slightly warm as well! Some flagship killer. /rantover. :silly:

I'm running stock CM12S but it hasn't worked with 11 or 12. My contacts and the dialer sync perfectly and when I use the "bluetooth" function on my headunit I can stream and control the phone fine but what I'm trying to use is the app.
For instance in this screenshot:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/PUSA/Images/Product Images/Car/AVH-X3500BHS_angle1.jpg
The bluetooth icon on the top right works fine, but the pandora icon second from the right on the top row does not even light up as an option for me to use (where it did when I connected my Nexus 5).
This is what I want to be able to use:

I think you have 3 options...
1) Wait for a possible fix in an upcoming update.
2) Find and flash the bluetooth stack from CM11 (not sure if this is possible or available)
3) Go back to CM11.
I'm not a robot! Thanks, captcha.

Is it a bluetooth stack thing that prevents some headunits from seeing certain phones over others? (Such as Nexus 5 vs OPO).
I'm not sure if that's a BT stack issue or incompatible protocol, etc. Maybe someone else with more knowledge can chime in on this one.
Interesting, looking at the phones on phonearena it looks like the N5 has v4.0 and A2DP whereas the OPO only has 4.0.
I wonder if A2DP is the culprit here.
I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue. When I play music from my phone over a connected Bluetooth device such as a headset or car hands free system, I am unable to seek/skip forward or back in a track using that device's seek/skip controls. For example, if I wanted to skip 10-20 seconds into the song that was playing I am unable to do so. This does not seem to work with the the Oneplus 6 no matter which music app I use. I tried to do the same thing on my LG G6 on the same Bluetooth devices and they all work as expected. The music app I use is Google play music, however I have also tested other music app and the issue is the same one the Oneplus 6. I am unable to seek/skip forward while connected to any Bluetooth device using that device controls.
