[APP][4.2+][WIDGET][UCCW] Skins
Thread to share UCCW Skins - apk and uzip.
With the new version of UCCW it is easier than ever to create and share skins.
Apks of skins can be created from within app itself.
You don't need to know coding to make apks of UCCW skins. And its free.
Multiple skins can be combined in one apk.
The resulting apk can be uploaded to Google play to share with the world.
Advantages of Apk skins:
1) Easier to install, uninstall.
2) Easier management of skins. Multiple skins in one apk.
3) Apk skins have limited customization. So the users can customize the skin to their liking without deviating from the basic structure and look of the original skin.
4) No dependence on SD card.
5) Users are familiar with apks.
6) Ability to upload in google play. People can rate themes. Creators can easily provide updates. Creators can also earn money for their work. Skins are easily available just by searching for UCCW skins in Google play.
Here is how its done.

Providing updates to Apk skins:
Remember to increment 'Version Code' and 'Version Name' as marked in pic below

As per policy I have made apk skins non-editable. You don't want your hard work copied easily and sold in another name.

Hi.
I tried.
Exported own skin.
Changed assets.
Changed name.
Exported as signed apk.
Installed on phone.
But it doesn't show up in the uccw themes list.? So how to add it on screen?
Am I missing something?
Good news. Thanks Mr V.

Same here.
Moreover, clicking 'open' after installing the theme apk freezes the phone. I know it must be like any go launcher theme where you just press done after installation and access the theme via theme manager - not by directly clicking 'open'. I clicked 'open' here to see what happens. Ideally it should've opened uccw window or a pop-up saying 'theme installed' or open skins list. But it froze the device and I had to do a battery pull.
After rebooting, the skin was not present in the installed skins list either.

Got it. Thanks. Skin works.
But the screen freeze on direct 'open' is still an issue.

Btw. @vineet
Shouldn't the gplay uccw be updated to 211 for skins to work?
What impact will this have on the skins thread? Is this it for the skin sharing community? No more?

And the uccw now doesn't include the weather icons when I export any skin from uccw; neither in uzip, nor in zip for apk. So, how can I include the weather icons in the skin apk? Anyone figured this out?

Hi all!
[ICON PACK]
I've collected your wishes, and put together a few droid guy icons, similar to manup456's Droid iconset.
Credits go to him for the great idea to create the original icon pack, and the basic android icon. I couldn't do this without that.
You can find the original droid icons here.

Download droidz_ext.zip, extract to a folder on your sd. Apply them with Desktop Visualizer, or ADW Launcher icon replacer.
[NEW!]
A good guy, tskramp made many new icons for this thread, now they are available in the new (droidz_ext.zip) zip. Thanks for him!
Here they are:
MY LATEST UPDATES:
I've added an apk installer, it contains the icon pack. It is much easier to apply the icons with this. In Desktop Visualizer choose icon packs option instead of android image gallery.
Big thanks to djmcnz, the creator of the great rom bundle, Kang-O-Rama!
[MORPHS]
Statusbar:
I've added 2 metamorph zips.
The first (DroidzExtended.zip) contains a semi-transparent white statusbar, with custom (mainly android guy) notification icons.
The second one (DroidzExtended_transbar.zip) is the same as the first, but with fully transparent statusbar, with a little shadow effect.
Open zip with Metamorph as a new theme, let it extract, and then apply all.
These are my first morphs, any feedback is apperciated.
Screenshots:
Twitter, inc.
Here's something I did today. This is for Official Twitter app. It's not perfect yet, I couldn't make the smaller widget transparent, because of Twitter's special image handling. But I've added a little twitter droid to that too.
First you have to move com.twitter.android.apk from data/app to system/app. Then download Translucent_twitter zip from below, and apply it via Metamorph.
Screenshot:
Download links: see attached files
And a half-kanged wallpaper (I've only put the Droids onto it
great job on these. just wondering though, do you have a blank image of just the android holding both arms out. i've been wanting to make a few of these myself but needed that and didn't see it in the original pack.

Thanks , finally got bettercut working with helix 2 and loving my setup ... Thanks again for the sick icons
Thanks a bunch!!
ANDROID FTW!!
I strongly regommend Folder Organizer to change icons, it puts them in much better quality than Better cut, plus they won't be buggy because of bad linking (for example Gallery force closed, when I added it either with Better Cut, or Freedhome, or the web browser always restarted when I used the custom icon to start).

Hi dudes and dudettes,
I've been making a little theme during my spare time and today decided to release what i have currently got done. I really hope people like it and its my first theme i've created for the Nexus.
Currently the theme is only for CM 6.0 final as that is what I am currently running on my Nexus. I may port it over to other ROMs but not until I have the free time as I am pretty busy over the next few days.
The theme is in UPDATE.zip for easy application and to get the best results I have attached my .XML for the notification bar colours. Also attached to this thread are my green+mean icon set and dock for use with launcher pro (or anything else really)

Hi ppl, thankyou for the kind words!
in regards to the setting icons, I would love to do that but you will need to wait I have a few other things going on right now.

hi mate are you trying to change the icons in the dock or elsewhere? to change on dock just press and holdon the dock, select shortcut then custom icon.
for elsewhere, you need folder organizer from the market which is also free and very useful.

Thank you! Wow can't believe i didn't think of that....So easy. Just figured there was a option in settings somewhere.
This theme looks incredible. Might be enough to make me learn how to make an ADW Launcher theme.
It would be also nice if the height of the widgets was the same. I mean...if I use for example the twitter widget (4x1) in a screen and the google search widget in the next screen their edges don't match.
Try to use the music 4x1 widget in a screen and the weather&news one in the next screen...they match! This is the effect it would be cool to have with all the widgets.
Is it possible? (sorry for my english! )
EDIT: is it possible that the weather&news widget has been "broken" by your customization? It doesn't find my location if I set the geolocation. If i set manually my location all works fine. The geolocation works instead in Beautiful Widgest so I think there's a problem in that widget.
love the work so far, can't wait for next release with more things themed.

not saying this is the answer: but have you checked that 'Use wireless networks' is still ticked in your Location & Security settings. I had a problem with that widget doing the same thing, and then it magically worked when I found it had been unchecked - probably due to me using the 4-corner-tap trick to skip initial gapps setup with each ROM flash recently, therefor missing that option

*UPDATE - 20120119 - I removed all instructions on how to use ZipTheme and removed the original Dialer Mods. I Went ahead and re-did the .zip files for the Dialers using ZipTheme myself in order to simplify installation for you guys. Let me know if you guys have any issues with the Dialers.
Installation Instructions: Just drag the Theme Pack to your SD, reboot into recovery, wipe cache, wipe delvik cache, then install from zip. Dialers, drag to SD, then reboot into recovery, select instal .zip from SD, choose your dialer, and install, then reboot and enjoy. Wallpapers, well come on now you should know this... but just in case... unzip the wallpapers, then drag to your sd card, then long press on home screen, select wallpaper, then choose from gallery.
Please keep in mind, I change my clock widget colors to match, these do NOT include the clock widget, or the wallpapers already installed. You must make those minor changes on your own. Also the screenshots that do not show a Carrier Name is because i removed the carrier name on my own personal themes, these will still have your carrier name. If you want to remove or change your carrier then please see the thread thats linked in my signature.
UPDATE- 20120119 - I updated the instructions on how to install the Dialers, no more having to do the leg work in ZipThemer yourselfs. (I already did it.)
hi
kn u help me for koking a theme for android 2.3.4 ? plz
I am currently only running 2.3.3, but im sure if you search the forum, there should be plenty. Or if you REALLY cant find any, and IF your rooted, you can send me you systemUI.apk and framework -res.apk, and i can extract the files i need to create you a theme.
Nice themes.
Keep up the good work.
But, i'm not digging the alien and skull theme.

Beautiful. Theme is very nice, but when I installed the red dialer and numbers, dialer wont load and contacts app missing. Dialer says "app is not installed" when ya touch it.
I posted over on your "change carrier name guide". I changed the Carrier name, but how do you change the text color.

lol, i just replied to your reply over on my GUIDE thread. But the easiest way is just download one of these themes, keep in mind, when you download and install a theme you will have to re-do the carrier name, as the framework -res.apk i used to create the themes was stock, for some reason i could not get them to work when i used my modified system files. Im still trying to figure out how to integrate NO CARRIER NAME in my new themes, this way it will be blank instead of saying Verizon or whatever. (You will stil be able to customize it to say what you want, it willl just be blank by default)
LOL, Ok thank ya.

Hmm, that is not suppose to happen!... lol. Did you try the new dialers, or was it before i made the changes, using zipthemer myself? It might be because i used zipthemer on them, already. here is the dialer before i used zipthemer, it might have tweaked it to my phone configuration instead of making it universal.
Red Dialer
Then use ZipThemer to create a update.zip. Make sure, you set up scripting in the settings, i had to use a flashable .zip i already had for ZipThemer to pull the scripting from so it worked on my phone, that probably why the dialer didnt work for you. Let me know if you get it to work, that way i can remove all the links to the dialers, and put up links to the original dialers and write a quck instruction guide for ZipThemer.
UDATE
Ok, will do and let ya know

I only made this tutorial to make this Layout fit onto our sensation as it was made for the Galaxy Nexus
I have made a Video Guide as well as offering all the needed files
Needed:
Apex Launcher with a Hidden status bar (to launch it just edit your Behavior Settings in Apex to Swipe Down==>show notifications)
4 Homescreens, with 8x5 grid.
Please notice the settings in the beginning of the video, you need to have the same for the best result.
Note: the READ ME includes notes needed in PA ROM, if you're not on it, please ignore those notes.

The colors of each UCCW widget can be changed to your preferences.
Latest Addition: Double Tap Wallpaper Change
Thanks to the option available in multipicture LWP
PS: Picture source is ALBUM, the video lagged sorry
If anyone wants different wallpapers, they can simply edit the stock wallpaper included in the previous files, or post it here and i'll do it for you
Wallpapers used in the video + New ones===>removed because those had the old faulty wallpaper and Whatsapp instead of Messages. i might add some later, or you can do other wallpapers yourself using the STOCK wallpaper added in the files

You need to edit your location in UCCW settings. set in manually (i prefer it manual) or auto.
also you may edit the frequency of the weather update (but for seem reason it sticks to one hour for me)

Introducing Devbro Appdrawer by me(Devbro)
What is it?
This is a appdrawer replacement. In the normal appdrawers that exists right now, you can only organize your apps in generic ways(alphabetically, more recently used,...) or in folders that make accessing your apps one step further to reach. No more worries. Devbro Appdrawer now fixes this problem. You can organize your apps in folders and swipe to access them. It can be easily replaced with all general appdrawers, just replace the shortcut in go launcher, ADW launcher and etc. Or you can create a shortcut to it for daily use.
What else can it do?
You can organize your folders in whatever customized order you like. It is also possible to uninstall or view each app's info just by long clicking on the icon.
What is the cost?
It is free. No catches of any kind.
What are the permissions for?
I am looking to see how my app will be used by other people. So There is a small code that send me a list of your folders and how you organized them. There is also a list of how you ran your programs.
All data that are being sent are generated from within the app. nothing else is sent. If you do not like the idea you can simply disable it from the settings menu. If you like to do this manually, there is also an option for it in the settings.
sdcard access is needed for backup and restore
Do you like my app?
If the answer is yes, then just use it and tell your friends about it. You can also give it 5stars in the market.
Do you have a suggestion/Did you find a bug?
Just post it here and I will look into it. Thanks in advance.
Do you want to help?
As per suggested, I need a new icon. If you have seen one that I can use post a link here please.
Which feature that you like to see next?
1. dark theme, theming options - done

I am strongly considering this. It may take me a while as most of the code that I am using are not part of GB. Fear not I shall find a way to do this.
would it be too much to ask for a direct download link? I don't have wifi access and can only download from download sites :s

I am glad to hear I haven't done any major testing on 4.2 yet. Are there any problems?
Good idea! It works fine in my Galaxy s3 with mihome launcher. My feedback is this:
1) app icon should be more like a generic launcher icon. Current icon isn't representative of what most people are used to looking for an app drawer.
2) hide the title bar so it feels more like a native app drawer. Maybe even give the option of a transparent background.
3) default black theme looked ugly because the folder label had a white background. How about making the folder label background transparent and underlining the name instead?

I am seriously considering all your good advices. I am not a graphic designer, it takes longer to come up with more effective graphical designs. Creating icons are not easy it may take me a little longer to create or find one.

I've installed the appdrawer and created some groups, but I don't understand what I should be doing next. What are shortcuts?

By shortcuts I meant to put it on your screen as a widget.
The goal of this app is to improve the speed that you find and launch your apps. So you spend less time finding them.
