[Q] [Question] Is it possible for art programs for windows be ported to GN 10.1? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone! I'd like to ask all of fellow XDA members this one simple question!
Will Paint Tool SAI or some other art programs for Windows might someday be ported over to Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1?
I'm a digital artist, for that I recently got myself this awesome device even though that Note II is already out.
I would like to discuss possibilities that if Paint Tool SAI or some other awesome art programs for Windows could be brought into the Android realm? I've saw a number of people using that program on Windows with their Bamboo Tablet. Why don't I get Bamboo too you ask? Because it's friggin hard to find Bamboo in my country. :crying:
I know this tablet has the potential for being the ULTIMATE art tool for us digital artists! I tried the original Note but the screen is too small (Well, that's something you don't hear everyday.) for me to do my digital arts.
S Note and Photoshop are great at this time, but it lacks some option on what the PC version (sans S Note since it is only on Note and flagship Galaxies.)
So.. what do you think about the possibilities? Pretty endless, no?
I'm sorry if I wasted your time. :silly:

Got a new WM after a few years, what's changed? Please get me up to speed!

Hi Guys n Girls,
Well I've been a member since '05 but haven't really played with WM's since the Magicians and Alpines. I've had a TyTn but didnt like it and didnt really play with it and then lost an XDA Orbit on the first night down the pub with it. I've been using an N95 lately.
I've just got myself a Polaris and it looks great! I used to love modding my other WM's but it's been a while and I was just wondering what's changed and what's new. I've had a bit of a read but just need some advice on what software to buy and what steps to take.
So here's a few questions I have:
What's the best media player?
I will listen to a lot of music and watch films while on the go. I used to use TcpMP I think. I need one that supports a lot of codecs and don't really wanna use more than one.
What's the best keyboard software?
I had SPB full screen keyboard and it was a lifesaver. Is this the best? I like the zoom fuction on the ipod keyboard.
Is SPB pocket plus still a must?
I felt this package covered bits left out by MS (such as the real 'x' close button etc.) Is it still recomended or are there other ways around things nowadays.
How do I get this touch flow stuff? It looks cool - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=y78EB0rahQA
I love the way things are more fingertip oriented. I think Apple innovated this.
Is there still a program to design themes?
Or where can I get cool themes? I like the dark styles and windows 7 looks nice.
Is ROM flashing still risky?
I've got the o2 branded ROM at the moment. I used to love trying the community's ROMS but I've just started a family and I'm real skint. I bought my Polaris PAYG and really can't afford to brick it. Mind you cooking ROMs was half the fun!
The best PDF reader?
I read a lot of PDF's and remember never finding one up to standard. Ideally it will be fullscreen with no need to scroll along the lines.
What else do you guys recommend I do to get the best out of my HTC device?
I've forgotten loads and feel like a noob again and just need some advice about what you guys consider 'must have steps'. I remember things such as installing the widdicomm BT stack as the MS one is crap. I use bluetooth stereo headphones (motorola S9s) for music.
Hope you guys have some pointers for me and I'm looking forward to playing again!
I'm off to the read the Polaris Wiki
Thanks,
Gareth
p.s. Oh by the way it's great to see this community has gone from strength to strength. It really has grown! It seems to be the HQ of the WM world now. Congrats!

You might want to read my roundups - they give you a definite answer to some of your q's (multimedia, Spb Pocket Plus when it comes to the IEM plug-in, theme management with the latest tools etc.)

Not really true - at least not yet. (Albeit, highly possible, given that at least game development for WinMo has almost entirely ceased in the last half a year....)
It's only at some categories that iPhone is MUCH better than WinMo (with much more SW titles); the most important being games.

[Q]What Smartphone should I get?

So I'm pretty new to this Smartphone thingie, actually I come from a Nokia 5800. Says quite alot dosent it?
I've been looking every single test I could get my hands on the last few days, and at best, it only confused me more.
I've been having a really really hard time deciding what my first real venture into Smartphones should be. I'm not a software geek nor a software newbie, so I like to fiddle around with stuff to make it suit me the best.
What I'm looking for in a phone:
Big screen
Good colors
Easy to text
Good camera
Easy to browse on
These phones are the ones I'm currently interested in:
Samsung Galaxy S
Samsung Nexus S
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
HTC Desire
HTC Desire S
As I said, a big screen means alot to me. Its just a jungle out there, and its really really hard to choose a new phone now.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this sort of question, but I havent been able to find a topic for it. If something like that exists, then please point me in the right direction.
On the other hand, maybe I should wait for the Samsung Galaxy 2

Android / Ubuntu on Samsung Ativ Tab GT-P8510

Hello everyone,
i'm a owner of a new Samsung ativ tab.. *yeaah* I won it 2 weeks ago, but i'm definitly not happy with Windows 8 RT.
Since some days, i trawl google and check if there is any possibility to install another OS (android or ubuntu) on this device. Until now, without any success.
Has anybody an idea or tipps (except selling ) what i can do with this samsung ativ tab?
thanks in advance for your support!
greetings
I like to revive this old thread and ask the 2016 question if Android or Linux can be installed on the Samsung Ativ Tab GT-P8510?
Hope some of the geniuses here will take pity on the users of Windows RT tablets.

Hiya,
Just read your post and believe i can be of help to you. If you are dead set against Apple, there are various other tablets around such as Sony Xperia and Nokia/Microsoft Lumia, but if you want a leading tablet it would be best to stick with Samsung maybe?
The S2 would probably be a suitable replacement for you as being samsung, you will already be familiar with its functions etc, and the S2 comes in different screen sizes. The closest to your old 10.1 being the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 - the 9.7 being the screen size in inches.
As to the confusion over the bunch of numbers after the name, they are just its model number. The t815 would be the 9.7inch S2 that I just mentioned with wifi and 4g connectivity. Also depending on your budget, brand new these can be £370-400 I have found, yet you can get an excellent quality second hand device for around £280-300 from sites such as 4gadgets
I hope you found this helpful, but if you require any further information feel free to ask (^_^)
thanks for the info much appreciated...

[Completed] Tab needed for ebook reader

My wife has destroyed her old Nook and needs a new ebook reader in the 7" to 8" range.
With so many tabs out there to choose from, I'm needing some help.
The Galaxy tabs seem to get good reviews but there are so many I'm horribly confused as to how to choose one.
I've personally owned several different tabs and rooted them all so that is not the issue it's just trying to get her a good foundation tab that will be around for a while.
TNX for your thoughts.
