Remove Camera App and Use SnapPhoto by adb?

What i was thinking if we could remove the camera app and replace it with Snapphoto to make it the default camera?
Please tell me if this is possible and if the button for the camera on the side of the phone if we can make it be used to activate the SnapPhoto App?

If i had to guess yes you can.
Since Snap gives you the option to be set as default.

Might wanna wait till someone with more expertise confirms or directs you to correction.

Would you still be able to update SnapPhoto from the Market if you did this?

Found a problem.
i made SnapPhoto to the default camera, but when im going to attach to a message and i choose camera and i get unexpected error
any solution?

I remember reading somewhere on the forum if you delete the camera.apk, you wouldn't be able to change your wallpaper & you might lose your pictures app. Are you still able to change the wallpaper & browse your pics?

Sounds like you need to place Camera.apk back in

the Camera app is built in and can not be removed without consequence.
It controls more than just the camera
is there a reason you want to replace it? you can have both at the same time.

why delete the original camera software? just set SnapPhoto as the default camera and it will open when you press the shutter button.
Menu > Settings > Set as default camera

It happend, its over, hopefully he learned something out of this

Camera App won't work if started through lock screen????

It seems my camera app wont work if i start it from the newly implemented sense lockscreen....it just initiates the viewfinder but i cant take any snaps or change any settings....anyone else had this....?

Try loading the camera through the app list and disabling the GPS tagging.

Saw a post about this a while back. I'll see if I can find it for you
EDIT: Couldn't find it But it might be worth searching some more through here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=75142484 and doing a better search

Many thanks for your help ....tried disabling geo tagging ....didn't seem to resolve the issue ....hopefully a software update will sort this out .... Yeah will try and do a more comprehensive search ....to tell the truth I didn't actually search :-/

Hi, I've decided to try a custom rom for my Inspire 4g and I've chosen the Sabsa Prime 6.0 ( since it has Sense 4.0 it seemed appealing ). Everything works great except camera. My image gets blurred and a bit yellowish when I press the button, however before I press, image seems ok. Maybe camera application could be trying to enhance the photo but screwing it up instead. I've tried changing settings of camera but stil lthe same. Didn't tried another camera application, I'll try, later. Anyone else got that problem too?

Just now was checking my camera after seeing your post.I don't have any such issue.I guess you had a bad flash.Did you flash with clean wipe?

Found out my camera shuts the phone off when it flashes, Help!!!!!!!!!

[Q] Oneplus, Instagram, & AOSP ??? [Solved]

So if anyone using Instagram and having issues with the picture after cropping and pre-posting where the entire image is black, I'd like to sincerely thank zephiK for pointing out the workaround!! The workaround is simple and as follows..
Open Instagram and click on your profile tab and hit the menu button, under camera turn off the bottom option of the two that says "high-quality image processing" try and sample a shot on Instagram and see if the pic appears to be normal.. Voila!!! Again thanks to zephiK for pointing this out to me and was good to hear I wasn't alone..
Anyone else still having issues after trying this quick and easy workaround please post back here and lets us know.

Toggle as in turn it off and on? Or change from where it is to something else back or change it and leave it? Thanks for the quick reply, and good to know I'm not the only one lol....

Which one is it on right now? If its unchecked, check it. If its checked, uncheck it.
I don't use Instagram, I do have the app and its checked and I can take a picture and it shows it just fine. I have read this problem in another thread and thats what they suggested and it worked.

At least here, it's easy to reproduce.
Just install any new camera app from the play store, then do te circle gesture to open the camera.
The select app for the action dialog just auto close and can't select any camera app.
Stock COS12.
