[Q] Want help abt OLD baseband and New Baseband.. - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone
I want some help....I am new to android..
I have LG optimus onw p509 (USA version of p500). And I want to install new custom rom...but there are some topics abt OLD baseband and New Baseband.
1) Whats difference between OLD baseband and New Baseband.?
2) Is P509 belong to which one? (OLD baseband ord New Baseband.)
3) How can I find my P509 s' baseband?
Thanks

Baseband is something related to the radio. if u bought your phone recently and it came with gingerbread then Congrats it has new baseband. else if it has froyo then sorry u have got old baseband.
in case of new baseband, u can continue with rooting and flashing new roms
but if in old baseband, then first change to new baseband and then continue

I'm sorry new fish here what's froyo and how do I know I have it :sly:and if i do have froyo how do I get a new baseband

MATE, Go to this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149530
Its a full and easy guide to flash new baseband. remember to download and use the V20g-baseband and not the V10e- baseband. and don't disconnect while in the process or else you will face some serious problems.

In froyo statusbar is white. its the easiest way to know if you are using froyo(assumptions: u didn't flash any custom rom with white statusbar)

and also keep in mind that once u chnge baseband and u r still in froyo then u will lose your network.

[Q] Lost network connection after flashing to T959VUVKF1 GB Leak

I was able to successful flash my phone with the newly leaked GB Rom. However once I completed the update I noticed that I was no longer receiving data packets and that I was no longer connected to the T-Mobile network. The only way I could make calls was to use "WiFi Calling". I searched the internet for anyone who had this problem and if there is a fix for it, but to no avail. Has anyone encountered this problem and if so, did you find a solution to it?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give to resolve this problem.
I had the same problem. I never found a solution. I am currently waiting for an exchange since my phone is still in warranty.
Flash KJ6.
Expirienced the same flashing KH2 modem over 2.3.6 ROM. you got to admit system boots much much faster.... flash KJ6 and it will return as FBI said.
Sent from me
Had the same issue after flashing KJ6, crappy signal, getting booted off network. Could not get the signal back no matter which ROM I used. Just got replacement phone from T-Mobile yesterday.
As a note: I never lost my IMEI, and I could manually register on T-Mo network, but would get booted after a few minutes, usually when I went indoors - the signal strength became unusable.

Okay, so now I am registered on network, but I have no bars, no 3g. Only wifi calling. It tells me that the "mobile network is not available". What do I do?
Go into the network settings and make the system aka your phone look for it.....if it says none or can't connect....it can be your Sim card is defective ie: it may have been put in wrong make sure it's put in as the phone says ......and if that doesn't work you might need a new Sim card....not company a new Sim card from the same provider

No mobile network

So after 2 days of trying to go from froyo to gingerbread to get raverX3X's octane rom I initially lost my mobile connection somehow. I noticed it last night while I still had froyo. When I switched over to GB this morning I noticed still no network? Idk if it has something to do with the process of installing the roms, or T-mobile's problem? I'm not even sure if I have the rom in hahah, so it'd be nice if someone can at least confirm that for me.
Heres some info on the phone.
Mobile Network Type: Out of service
Mobile network state: disconnected
IMEI: Unknown
IMEI SV: Unknown
Firmware version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: Unknown
Kernel version: 2.6 35.7-T959VUVKJ6-CL694130
Build number: GINGERBREAD.VUVKJ6
I need my connection going to make work easier lol. thanks!
These people are likely having the same problem.

Oh I'm not the only one thank god haha. Yeah hopefully there will be a solution soon!
mrchovee, do me a favor and take out your battery for 10 minutes and see if that fixes it and post back please. Thanks in advance.
I wonder if the IMEI actually got wiped, if it can't be read (permissions), or if it has something to do with the modem (baseband) not being recognized?
- If you have CWM installed have you tried booting into recovery & fixing the permissions?
- Have you tried flashing back to stock using Raver's ODIN KJ6 ROM (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353176) or one of the KC1 ROMs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129933)?
Wow taking out the battery for 10min worked perfectly! thank you so much!! right before work too haah!
Nice find, Silvercar!
Glad it worked.
EXACT same problem here since last night :-(
Still searching for solutions.
I have one question, I made BU's thank god, what I want to know if ROM BU's actually back up all folders including the EFS, which holds the IMEX etc ??

OMG, it worked.....everything is back to normal...IMEX too...wohooooooooooo
So this is a problem related to No SERVICE......cause the minute i had service back, everything reappeared.
Now, I have to do all my New Rom's again.........small price to pay for a solution
I had the same problem and I ended up doing an exchange for 20 dollars since I was still in warranty. I wish I knew about the battery trick earlier...
Just so everyone knows I started a thread called "No carrier signal + IMEI Problems = take out your battery" a while back. Try and search it, it should come up.
damm thats crazy the battery thing worked
haha i thanked you bro

[Q] Downgrade from ICS to Stock Froyo/Gingerbread

I am currently on the AOKP ICS rom with the old baseband ( I'm using the baseband fix). I would like to go back to the stock ROM, either GB or Froyo. Can anyone tell me how this is possible?
Thanks!

Looking for I727UCKJ2 (Hotfile is dead)

Hi everybody:
I am new here, but i had much help for my phone thanks to this forum. With the tutorials i successful upgraded my skyrocket from gingerbread to jelly bean. But 4 months later, i am noto happy at all, because my phone runs a bit slow (i have few apps and use Ccleaner), so i wanna downgrade back to GB.
My problem is i can't find and download the stock, because all people uploaded it in Hotfile, buth this hosting was shutted down by murica (thanks gringos ¬¬ ).
I tried with the post of k0nane, but the link of I727UCKJ2 is down too.
So, my request is if somebody can uploado the stock in a diferent hosting.
Thanks very much to all for the help.

dont think anyone has the stock gb firmware, when flashing stock jb give it a few days to settle and turn anything off that u dont use, such as bt, lte, wifi etc.
if you really need a gb based rom you could try the nexusmod gb rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426590

[Q] Why is my IR on a brand new phone not working on MOAR 2.2 rom?

I just got a warranty replacement and rooted it and put on MOAR 2.2 and am running the latest KTOONZ kernel .....in fact it would let me do the stock kernel...it froze up during boot until I flashed the KTOONZ kernel. I'm not sure if it's because the replacement phone did an OTA update before I flashed the rom...I don't remember having the spark logo on my previous S5 before warranty replacement. Is there a service I need to turn on using a debloat tool? I used the Aroma bloat tool that comes with the Rom to make sure the Smart Remote service was installed and I made sure it was turned on in accesability....I have no way of know if it's a hardware issue or a kernel issue, but it seems unlikely it's a hardware issue...since it's a brand new phone. I'm going to do a nandroid backup and try flashing a stock 4.4.4 rom to see if that fixes it, but I'd rather skip that if there is simple fix or test. Thanks ahead of time for any help anyone offeres.
Ir has been discussed in the moar 2.2 thread already. I suggest you search there.
