Hi everyone. I was reading a blog that says there's a hidden menu on the S3. It is to test the phone. I mean, to see if the led works, the speaker works and other stuff.

So, i was wondering if anyone know something about this.
I heard about the 'Testing' menu. But, itsn't what i looking for.
Btw, the testing menu is: *#*#4636#*#*
PS: Sorry for my poor english.
You can launch an app called CQATest, if you have a home screen replacement which can create shortcuts for activities (apex,...). Simply create a shortcut for this activity: CQATest-> com.motorola.motocit.Test_MenuMode

You have to be using a 3rd party launcher (Nova, Apex, etc...)

I see, do you have a widget called Activities? If so, drop it on your homescreen, and the list of activities is going to pop up. Select the one mentioned earlier (CQATest -> com.motorola.motocit.Test_MenuMode).
I realized that if I boot into Bp Tools, in the menu it going to appear an app called 'CQA Test' ^^
To boot into Bp Tools you need to turn off your phone. Then, press the volume buttons (both) and then turn it on.
Then, with the down volume button you go to 'Bp tools' and then, select with the up volume button.
And, as I said, in the menu, it should appear an app called 'CQA Test'.
PS: Again, sorry for my poor english.

In order to get any app on to your home screen just long press it and drag it to the home screen of your choice.

Internal Lab test menu
Ok guys so since this thread is called HiddenSecret Menus so did not create a new thread, here's another one for you all :
So we do know about the *#*#4636#*#* testing menu
check if you are already aware of this one
*#*#6686#*#* which is a "internal lab test menu" - pretty self explanatory to use.
Hit thanks if you find this helpful!

Okey.
I got a Qtek S100 (or Magican, as you call it...).
I've been searching around för task managers that fits my needs, including this forum. I've tried the most popular, and some other, but haven't got jackpot yet.
All of the task managers I've tested works like this: Hit an icon with the pen (or finger...) and a menu pops up.
I want to press a hardware button, to make the menu open.
A long time ago I had such a program. I had it on both of my iPAQ models. A 3630, and a 3660.
On these models these program was attatched to the right buttons, se picture:

I'm not sure what these programs where named, but now you've got a clue what I need.
Any idéas of programs?
Is it not possible for you to remap the buttons, I mapped the camera button on my xda 2 to execute tomtom for instance.
dont waste time trying to map the send/cancel button.
there is no way to map.
i have tried all the whole list of Mapping button program from pocketgear.
none able to do it
probably you want to download a program that has 2 functions in each hardware button
for example.
1. calendar (press one)
1. pocket word (press and hold)
2. contacts (press one)
2. pocket excel (press and hold)
so on...
there u go, you can launch 8 applications
The problem is not to execute a program, that I can do well. The problem is TO OPEN A MENU.
For instance, press a hardware button and the start menu opens...
But, I want a task bar, that I can open it's menu by pressing a hardware button.
the start menu is just like a launcher
i have no idea how to map the start menu to a button
anyway, let calculate the step
using finger to press start menu (only 1 move)
using finger to press hardware button (only 1 move)
since no solution, we have to face it

do you mean iTask??
buzz
I found "magic button" to be a useful task switcher - but I don't know a way of using it with the hardware buttons. I also use buttonMax - you can create a macro that taps the start menu and assign the macro to a hardware button. I use "program menu" as my start menu which supports hiararchial menus so you can have access to a large amount of apps using a couple of button presses.
http://www.pocketmax.net/buttonMax.htm
I have already tested before this question is asked.
the only thing that cannot be done (that how i feel), is by configuring the 'send' button to map to a program (such as photos contacts 1.0d)
urh.. this photos contacts is not the built in program, it is an external program

Hi,

Thanks Zeeshee!
Man this ROM is damn fast...
But I'll second the WiFi comment - phones pretty much useless without it ;-)!!
***EDIT***
So I found out by going the long way through settings to enable...
Anyone able to post wifitoggle.zip from smartmadsoft so we can map it to the VolUp button? All links seem to be dead elsewhere.
Tnx
Do the long press VOL_UP or VOL_DN buttons work to toggle WiFi and/or BT on?
Downloading ROM now to try, thanks Zeeshee!
Cheers!

Hi,
I don't know if anyone else is having a problem with the contacts button from the home screen?
When I press the contacts button nothing happens. The contacts menu doesn't appear.
Thanks.
Yes, I'm having exactly the same problem (with the "contacts" soft button on home page).

Ever wanted an app which you can run which just takes you to your home screen?
Have you broken your home button, and now to get to your home screen, you have to press back continuously?
No longer will you desire such an app - It is here for you!
An app so simple that it doesn't need options.
Just run it and it takes you to your home screen.

Note: On the first run of the app, a blank screen may appear for a short time before it redirects. Do not worry this is normal behavior! Every run after that, it will redirect to your home screen.

And how exactly do you launch the app when you can't get to your app drawer except from your home screen? Kind of stupid, if you ask me. You should make it so that it keeps a persistent notification that takes you home when selected, because the notification bar is everywhere, the app drawer button is not.

It's a fantastic idea, but I'm not familiar with switchpad. It's a great start, but I think the most mainstream usage of it would be the persistent notification.
I didn't mean to come off as sharp, I know developing takes time and effort, so keep at it
Thanks
I'm currently working on the persistent notification, and have added it. Im just double checking everything works properly before release...
The release after this will have an option as to enable it or not haha.
John
You can also use an app called LaunchKey that attaches to the long press of your search button. This may help for those with just a broken home button.
I am not familiar with the app from above, but WaveLauncher would work as well. It allows gestures from the area of the screen you define (similar to the swipe up on the Palm Pre). It also has a nifty feature that if you press and hold for a user defined time on the gesture area, it will launch its own app drawer from within any application.
Great job on this simple but useful app! Keep it up! I know a few people with broken buttons that may benefit from this.
I use an app called zMooth which replaces the Menu, Home and Back buttons with swipe gestures that you make at the bottom of the screen.
Here is a video of it running on my Droid X, the video is a little choppy but it gives you an idea of how it works.

I prefer it this way because I use wavelauncher and I don't need another app running in background
Launcher pro short cut can also do this
I too use swipe pad a must for big screen like sgs2,n I too felt the need for a way to trigger home,i googled but cudnt find any thing but just few days ago I tried to put launcher pro as short cut on the swipe pad n it did the trick ,wht am I now missing is a way to to show recent app ,as u normally get by holding ur home button any one knows the way to it,
And how is this different from using Home Manager to create a shortcut to your home screen to use with SwipePad? Home Manager simply allows me to do all what your app can do and even more, like switching between launchers and shortcut on the notification bar

This StackOverflow question has some solutions, but there isn't much around it because XDA provides a manifest file for the PWA that strips the URL to just the domain.
Best solution seems to be to use one of the shortcut creater apps.
This is easily accomplished with Tasker and a Tasker shortcut on your home screen. Or, if you use Nova, you can use a gesture such as swipe up to launch the Tasker shortcut. Below is a screenshot of an example Task (using the Browse URL action) that launches the P7 forums on XDA, and a video attached showing it in use. Happy to help further if you want to give it a try.

Problem is, with Chrome, the shortcut removes the latter parts of the URL and like OP said, it just takes you to the XDA home page instead of the Pixel 7 Pro forums specifically.

Out of curiosity, I checked if it'd be possible on an incognito tab; it's not....

No, you should not do that. That is "old school". After the first 7862 releases FYT has changed that. I need to remove that from post #2 in my thread. (Thanks for reminding me )
Go into "Settings -> User -> Application Setting"
It determines which applications you want to auto-start when you start your car and unit. That is of course not the same as a "no kill", but works just as well.

it helped me to remove the navbar. There is no navbar now and it is beautiful.
Is there any difference between skipkillapp.prop and auto-start?
I actually don't want the application settings to appear on the screen when the unit starts. So keep it in the background.
In this case, when I auto-start, will the application settings be displayed as if I opened the application manually or will it stay in the background? And another thing I noticed when the unit restarts, the accessibility option is deactivated and I have to give permission again. Isn't there a solution to this?

"qemu.hw.mainkeys=1": That is a standard one to enable/disable the nav bar, but please check if your unit remains stable and if the systemui doesn't start crashing.
"Is there any difference between skipkillapp.prop and auto-start?" Yes. skipkillapp prevents the apps from being killed so they stay in memory in their active state. The application settings simply start the app on coming out of sleep or a reboot.
If you want a "nokill" system use @mariodantas kernel or @seb21 modded com.syu.ms apk.
Maybe I don't need navbar gestures because I removed the navbar below, but I already have navbar-like buttons in the upper statusbar section. So I don't think I will need it anymore.
by the way, yes it works stable and I didn't get any errors.

skipkillapp prevents the apps from being killed so they stay in memory in their active state. The application settings simply start the app on coming out of sleep or a reboot.
Click to collapse
skipkillapp is a property file for android OOM (Out of Memory) mechanizm. It is good to place desired app on that list to prevent kill that app in case of memory shortage.
The actual "no kill" list is inside of syu.ms.apk : protected_app.txt.
And for the reboot. The FYT software does not start any third party app. To auto start an app there must be two conditions met :
1. the app must have autostart feature
2.the app must be whitelisted in pwctl_config.xml
